1. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
Haedong Yonggungsa is one of Busan's most
famous temples, and for good reason.
This unique temple offers stunning, picturesque views where the temple grounds meet the vast ocean.
My family and I often drive out to Gijang, and Haedong Yonggungsa is a frequent stop for us.
It's truly wonderful every time we visit!
The scenic combination of the ocean and the temple is exquisite, so I highly recommend visiting on a clear day!
A sunny day also means you can capture some truly beautiful photos. Trust me on this one! 😉
Good to know: there is no separate entrance fee for Haedong Yonggungsa, but the parking lot is paid (and reasonably priced).
2. Nampo-dong & Bupyeong Kkangtong Market
Nampo-dong and Bupyeong Kkangtong Market are places I personally adore, thanks to their abundance of delicious food and the vibrant, authentic Busan atmosphere.
The market is huge and offers such a diverse array of goods that you can easily spend hours just browsing!
Plus, head into Nampo-dong itself, and you'll discover even more fantastic local eateries!
As a fan of fresh seafood, I usually head straight for the raw fish restaurants. Yum! 🍣
For parking, just look for public parking lots in the area.
3. Gwangalli Beach
Gwangalli Beach is often the first place that comes to mind when thinking of Busan.
In the morning or daytime, it's perfect for a leisurely stroll along the shore, or for simply relaxing at an ocean-view cafe and watching the world go by.
In the evening, the Gwangandaegyo Bridge lights up, offering a spectacular night view that's truly mesmerizing.
There are plenty of ocean-view restaurants and pubs nearby, but if you're not hungry, simply spreading out a mat on the beach and sitting by the sea is pure bliss.
You can even take a yacht tour in Gwangalli for around ~$14, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a special experience!
4. Dadaepo Beach
Dadaepo Beach, Busan's renowned sunset spot!
Dadaepo Beach truly captivated me on my first visit.
Unlike other Busan beaches like Gwangalli or Haeundae, Dadaepo offers a unique sense of tranquility and relaxation, making it perfect for those planning a healing getaway.
Dadaepo is particularly famous for its gorgeous sunsets, so I highly recommend visiting around dusk to fully enjoy the spectacle. (It's also fantastic for photos!)
5. Hwangnyeongsan Observatory
Hwangnyeongsan Observatory's Bongsu-dae (Beacon Tower) offers Busan's most incredible night views!
From Hwangnyeongsan Observatory, you can take in panoramic views of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Haeundae, and even Busan Port, all at once.
It's become quite popular with international visitors lately, and for good reason!
Personally, I believe Hwangnyeongsan offers the most breathtaking night views of Busan.
Instead of visiting during the day, aim to arrive around sunset to truly appreciate Busan's magnificent skyline as it transitions from dusk to night.
Even my parents were impressed by Hwangnyeongsan, so if you have the time, make sure to add it to your itinerary!
Simply search for 'Hwangnyeongsan Observatory' on your map app to find your way there.
While there's no parking fee, the parking lot is quite small, so it's often a good idea to park before reaching the main lot and walk the rest of the way.
