Guess who's back at one of my favorite spots?
Owl Village (Bujeong-i Maeul)! This place, just across from Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, is a true gem for delicious pork ribs, especially with its charming outdoor seating.
I recently revisited Owl Village (Bujeong-i Maeul).

2. Keeping it Classic and Delicious

The menu is wonderfully simple.
Pork Ribs 800g - ~$31
While they also offer fresh domestic pork belly (saeng-ogyepsal) and premium beef short ribs (hwangje sogalbisal), among other delicious options, Owl Village (Bujeong-i Maeul)'s absolute favorite menu item – and a Nampo-dong must-try meat spot – is their
Pork Ribs, marinated in a
40-year-old secret sauce.
Make sure to turn up the volume and listen to the sizzling sound in the video!

When you order a plate of their signature pre-grilled pork ribs,
a fantastic spread of side dishes is immediately laid out for you.
You'll get shredded chili, salted pollack roe (myeongnan), kimchi, shredded radish salad, pickled radish wraps (ssammu), wild garlic leaves (myeong-i namul),
along with pickled radish & chili, and seasoned scallions (pachae).

You can always ask for refills of any side dishes you finish.
The pork ribs here are absolutely incredible, especially when paired with the salted pollack roe (myeongnan).
We even asked for a refill of the myeongnan!

And as a bonus, they even serve steamed egg (gyeranjjim) as a basic side dish!

3. A Plate of Pre-Grilled Pork Ribs - 800g
Owl Village (Bujeong-i Maeul), a Kkangtong Market gem for meat lovers, grills its signature dishes over charcoal –
and their signature Pork Ribs are a must-try!
When you place your order, the pork ribs are first grilled to perfection before they even reach your table.

Usually, when marinated ribs aren't pre-grilled,
you end up struggling to cook them on the grill, trying to prevent them from burning.
One wrong move, and the marinade can quickly char.
That's why, honestly, ordering pork ribs can sometimes feel a bit hesitant,
no matter where you go.
But here, since they pre-grill them for you, you can relax and enjoy!

And can you believe the scoring?
They truly use only the authentic rib cuts for their pork galbi.
One bite of this meat, and you'll understand!
You'll instantly taste the quality and flavor of these premium cuts.

And right next to that beautifully golden-brown grilled meat,
we neatly tuck in some garlic cloves to grill together. A match made in heaven!
On this delightful day, I had the pleasure of visiting with my amazing mom and my wonderful daughter.
This fantastic spot opens at 4:30 PM on weekday evenings,
and we happily rolled in right at 5 PM.

Once it's perfectly grilled to a golden crisp, we slice it up beautifully and dive right in!
And of course, we couldn't resist ordering a bottle of soju for a celebratory 'cheers!' among the three of us.

We enjoyed it in so many ways: with fresh shredded green onions, with spicy shredded chili peppers,
with savory pollack roe, wrapped in a delightful ssam,
and even dipped in their special accompanying sauce. So many incredible flavors!
This Nampodong grill truly lives up to its reputation;
the meat just disappeared in no time!

Once we'd grilled up every last piece from our first plate,
we knew we just had to order more!
There was no serious debate needed between ordering a half plate or a full one –
we simply went straight for another full plate! It was that good.

You know how the meat clinging to the pork ribs is always the absolute tastiest part, don't you?
Even though it comes pre-grilled, those irresistible bits of meat on the bone
always need a little extra time on the grill. So, we neatly arranged them around the edges to continue cooking,
then got ready to grill our freshly ordered meat!

Once we'd savored every last bit of meat from those glorious rib bones, it was time to order some comforting Doenjang-jjigae.

Galbi and Doenjang-jjigae are truly a perfect match for a delightful dinner at this Jagalchi Market gem.
And you know what else is a total showstopper here? Their signature Bibim Guksu (spicy mixed noodles)!
But this time, we opted for the comforting jjigae instead of the Bibim Guksu.

This Doenjang-jjigae is brimming with delicious fried tofu and soft regular tofu,
and guess what? It's only ~$2!
Plus, they generously pack the rice bowl full to the brim!

A little bit of grilled meat on top of rice? Absolute heaven, pure perfection!

We heartily enjoyed the remaining soju and every last piece of that delicious meat.
All three generations of women, from my dear mother to my sweet daughter,
My stomach is about to burst!

Nampo-dong's famous BBQ restaurant where every last bite is worth savoring,
It's the *Dwaeji Galbi* (marinated pork ribs) from Buaeong-i Maeul (Owl Village).
Even as I write this, my mouth is watering again!

4. Overall Review
Just cross one street from Nampo-dong's Kkangtong Market and you'll find
a *Dwaeji Galbi* (marinated pork ribs) restaurant with 40 years of traditional secret seasoning
called Buaeong-i Maeul (Owl Village).

The reason you can't help but love this place is
because the *Dwaeji Galbi* isn't too salty or too sweet,
making it my daughter's absolute favorite *Dwaeji Galbi* restaurant.
On my next visit, I'm definitely ordering *Dwaeji Galbi* and their Premium *Bibim Guksu* (spicy mixed noodles)
to wrap the meat around the noodles and try it that way!!
If it's delicious, a return visit is always the right answer, wouldn't you agree?!
Sometimes, especially on weekends or after work hours, seats can be hard to come by,
so I highly recommend making a reservation via Naver!
