Waiting Information

2. My Dining Experience
My friend and I ordered the 2-person set menu and one can of Zero Coke.
The 2-person set cost ₩40,000 (~$30), and the coke was ₩3,000 (~$2).
▼ Here's what was included in our 2-person set menu ▼
· Fried Rice & Mapo Tofu
· Fried Eggplant (small)
· Dan Dan Mian

Since we selected our menu items when registering for the waitlist on Catchtable,
our food arrived quite quickly after we were seated.

The Mapo Tofu was what I was most excited for, and it did not disappoint! It was absolutely perfect.

The fried rice was incredibly savory and paired wonderfully with the Mapo Tofu.
Each bite transported me straight to a bustling street in China. 🥺

I was quite full by the time I got to the Dan Dan Mian, but it was a generous portion and tasted great.

My friend is a big fan of fried eggplant, and this dish was for them!
While I'm not usually a huge fan of fried eggplant myself,
Bao House's version was surprisingly good.
My only minor complaint is that the sauce for the fried eggplant was a bit too salty for my palate, which prefers milder flavors.
After about one and a half pieces, the saltiness became a bit much for me.
(My friend also found it salty but still enjoyed it thoroughly!)
(A quick tip)
The set menu portions are quite generous, and we ended up with some leftovers.
If you're not super hungry, considering ordering à la carte might be a better option!
3. Overall Verdict and Recommendation

After a slightly underwhelming experience at Seomyeon's Banpin (반핀),
Bao House truly hit the spot for us.
Although both my friend and I found the food at Bao House to be generally on the saltier side,
the overall ambiance was lovely, and it was a very satisfying meal.
(If I visit again, I'd definitely ask for the fried eggplant sauce on the side!)
❗️I visited on a day with heavy rain, and there's no designated indoor waiting area, so you have to wait outside.
I'd recommend planning your visit for a day with good weather if possible.
That concludes my honest review of Jeonpo Bao House, a Michelin-recognized gem in Busan.
If you're in Jeonpo and craving delicious Taiwanese or Chinese cuisine,
I highly recommend checking out Jeonpo Bao House! 😊
