Hwangnyeongsan Observatory, a renowned night view spot in Busan,
has recently gained even more fame as Busan's ultimate night view 'hotspot.'
From the Hwangnyeongsan Observatory beacon mound (Bongsu-dae),
you can marvel at Gwangalli Beach and the iconic Gwangan Bridge on one side,
while the other offers a sweeping panorama of Busan's urban core,
including Seomyeon and Bukhang (North Port).
That's why Hwangnyeongsan Observatory is
a beloved attraction not just for tourists visiting Busan,
but also a frequent haunt for locals.
Especially on a clear day, visiting here is perfect for a
scenic drive or a romantic date.
And the best part? There's no admission fee!
2. Our Hwangnyeongsan Observatory Experience
After parking, it's about a 10-minute walk (roughly 0.5 miles) uphill to reach the observatory itself.
Since it's a mountain path, I highly recommend wearing athletic shoes over sandals or flip-flops.
(Trust me, I almost took a tumble wearing sandals!)
Once you reach Hwangnyeongsan Observatory, Gwangalli Beach immediately comes into view.
While it's lovely during the day, it truly sparkles at night
(I definitely recommend visiting after sunset!).
From the beacon mound (Bongsu-dae), you get a clear view stretching from Seomyeon all the way to Bukhang.

3. How to Get to Hwangnyeongsan Observatory
Driving, Taxi, or Private Car Service
There are three main ways to reach Hwangnyeongsan Observatory:
by private car, taxi, or a dedicated private car service.
Driving
If you're driving, simply input 'Hwangnyeongsan Observatory Parking Lot'
as your destination into your GPS.
While parking is free, the lot can be quite small and fills up quickly,
so it's often better to park along the road leading up to the entrance.
(I've only found a spot in the main lot once during my visits!)
Taxi
For tourists or international visitors without a car,
taking a taxi is usually the most popular option.
Lately, I've noticed a significant number of taxis heading up to Hwangnyeongsan.
Many taxi drivers often wait at the bottom of the hill,
so you can usually find one by heading back down towards the parking area when you're ready to leave.
Alternatively, you can arrange with your driver to wait for you or pick you up at a set time!
Private Car Service Booking
