Planning your Busan itinerary? It's easy to get a little confused about the difference between the Beach Train and the Sky Capsule, isn't it?!
I know I definitely had to do some digging when I first looked into it! 🥹
Haeundae Blueline Park is a fantastic tourist spot where two unique rail experiences, the Beach Train and the Sky Capsule, travel along the old Donghae Nambu Line railway, stretching 4.8km from Mipo to Cheongsapo and Songjeong.

I actually visited three times in July 2026 alone! One day I hopped on the Beach Train, and on two other days, I explored the beautiful walking trails.
So, I'll break down everything for you: the differences between the two trains, how to book your tickets, parking at each station, and even the best walking routes!

For Beach Train and Sky Capsule tickets, even if the official website is completely sold out, don't despair!
❗Trip.com often has a separate allocation of tickets through their partnership, so you might find availability there!
Especially as of September 29, 2026, the Beach Train all-station pass for one adult was available for:
Official: ~$12 → Trip.com ~$11, meaning you could purchase it with an instant 10% discount.
That's why I highly recommend booking your tickets affordably through Trip.com!

2. Beach Train vs. Sky Capsule: What's the Difference?

The Beach Train is a charming retro train that many people ride together, while the Sky Capsule is an exclusive aerial capsule designed for your group of 2-4 people.

1. Route Differences
• The Beach Train operates between Mipo and Songjeong, stopping at 7 stations.
• The Sky Capsule runs one-way between Mipo and Cheongsapo.

2. Seating Style
• The Beach Train offers 2-tier theater-style seating, all facing the stunning ocean views.
• The Sky Capsule is a private capsule carriage, exclusively for your group.
3. Air Conditioning
• The Beach Train is equipped with air conditioning.
• The Sky Capsule relies on fans and window ventilation only (no AC).
4. Best For...
• For great value across the entire route, choose the Beach Train.
• For couples, families, or those seeking amazing Instagram-worthy shots, the Sky Capsule is your go-to!
3. Blueline Park Fares (as of October 2026)
Source: Official Website

Blueline Park Fares as of October 2026 | |
Beach Train 1-Ride Ticket | Departs from Cheongsapo: ~$6 Departs from Mipo · Songjeong: ~$7 |
Beach Train 2-Ride Ticket | ~$10 |
Beach Train All-Stations Pass | ~$12 |
Sky Capsule One-Way | For 2 people: ~$36 / For 3 people: ~$40 / For 4 people: ~$44 |
Even in early autumn, the Sky Capsule can get a bit warm during the day, and it's also a bit pricey, so,
For those who really want to experience the Sky Capsule,
I recommend a combo: take the capsule just from Mipo to Cheongsapo,
and then ride the cool Beach Train for the rest of your journey! 😊

4. How to Book Your Haeundae Blueline Park Tickets

Sky Capsule tickets open on the official website
every Tuesday at 7 AM,
for the week (Monday to Sunday) four weeks in advance.
The Sky Capsule is incredibly popular, especially among international visitors,
so if you have a specific date in mind, I highly recommend booking right on the release day if you can!
When I checked about two weeks in advance,
most tickets were already sold out until the end of the month.
It's truly challenging to get a spot at your desired time slot, as they often sell out!

✅ Sky Capsule Booking Steps
1. Select your travel date
2. Choose your entry time slot (You'll need to enter within 30 minutes to board in order)
3. Pick your direction (Mipo → Cheongsapo or Cheongsapo → Mipo)
4. Select the number of people (2/3/4 passengers)

On the other hand, the Beach Train is a bit easier to book,
but it's still a good idea to reserve your tickets in advance.
It's quite common for desired time slots to be sold out on-site!

✅ Beach Train Booking Steps
1. Choose your first boarding station (Mipo, Cheongsapo, and Songjeong are the only selectable options)
2. Select your date and first boarding time
3. Choose between a 1-ride, 2-ride, or All-Stations Pass
If you've left your car at the starting station,
you'll need to purchase at least a 2-ride ticket to get back after your ride.
Since there's only a ~$1 difference between the 2-ride and All-Stations Pass,
opting for the All-Stations Pass gives you much more freedom to explore!
5. Haeundae Blueline Park Parking by Station

Blueline Park has dedicated parking lots
at two locations: Mipo and Songjeong.
Visitors receive 2 hours of free parking per vehicle per receipt.
✔️ Songjeong Parking Lot (Surface Level): 427-2 Songjeong-dong, Haeundae-gu
Basic 30 minutes: ~$1, Per 10 minutes: ~$0, All-day: ~$15
✔️ Mipo Parking Lot (Tower Style): 947-1 Jung-dong, Haeundae-gu
Basic 30 minutes: ~$2, Per 10 minutes: ~$1, All-day: ~$21
✔️ Vehicles Not Permitted at Mipo Tower Parking Lot:
Large vehicles, SUVs, RVs exceeding 1,750kg curb weight, electric cars, hydrogen cars

✔️ Public Parking Lots Near Mipo if Tower Parking is Unavailable:
Moontan Road Public Parking (2-minute walk), Mipo Public Parking (5-6 minute walk)
Note: No parking fee support provided.

✔️ Cheongsapo: No parking fee support available,
Use the Cheongsapo Public Parking Lot directly in front of the station (548-3 Jung-dong)
Per 10 minutes: ~$0, All-day: ~$11
I parked at the Mipo public parking lot and walked,
and it was quite fun to explore the pretty murals and bakeries along the way!
Keep in mind that there can be a long wait to enter the Mipo Tower parking lot,
which is why official guides recommend starting your visit at the Songjeong station.
6. My Review of the Beach Train All-Stations Pass Itinerary

The Sky Capsule was sold out, so I couldn't ride it,
but I rode the Beach Train three times with just one ticket for all stations!
Let me introduce my route.

1. First ride from Mipo
2. Get off at Songjeong and enjoy the sea
3. Re-board at Songjeong and get off at Cheongsapo
4. Re-board at Cheongsapo and return to Mipo
My route is perfect for seeing just the highlights efficiently.
If you want to get off at every station,
it's best to allow 4-5 hours.

For boarding, the queuing method is:
There are separate lines for first-time boarding and re-boarding,
so just **distinguish** between them and queue accordingly.
Since **_boarding closes 10 minutes before departure_**,
I **recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before departure**.

**The best seat on the Beach Train is the first row**, which offers a better ocean view than the second row.

**Cheongsapo Station** is famous for its Slam Dunk-esque vibe,
featuring a train + sea + crosswalk photo zone.
The crosswalk right in front of the station is the photo zone,
where you can capture incredible photos as the train passes by.
7. Overall Review / Tip - Walking the Blueline Park Promenade

The Blueline Park promenade
is a deck path where you can walk alongside the railway even if you don't take the train.
I walked along the promenade from Songjeong Station all the way to the end of Songjeong Beach,

and it had a different charm than the coastal road.
With the Beach Train passing right next to it,
it was also great for taking photos with the train. 😊
It's a great alternative on days you can't get tickets,
and also perfect for a simple stroll to the next station.
I've summarized how to enjoy Haeundae Blueline Park for you.
**If your Busan itinerary is set,**
**I recommend checking for available tickets first, and with that, I'll conclude this post!**
