Experience the ultimate oceanfront dining at 1988 Busan Hanwoo House, offering exquisite Korean beef with breathtaking views of Gwangalli Beach and the Gwangan Bridge.

On a Friday evening, the perfect way to wrap up the week,
my daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a cozy, long-awaited date
and headed to Gwangalli.

Craving some authentic Hanwoo (Korean beef) while taking in the breathtaking, wide-open sea and the majestic Gwangandaegyo Bridge,
we sought out the perfect spot.
And that spot was none other than 1988 Busan Hanwoo House.

How amazing is that?!
The view, the taste, and even the discount – everything was beyond satisfying.

The Jaw-Dropping Gwangalli Ocean View
The moment we settled into our window seats, a panoramic view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge unfolded before us.
It was truly a work of art!
The title of 'Busan's Best Ocean View Spot' is absolutely well-deserved.

Gazing out the window, a thought suddenly struck me:
"Booking this place for the Busan Fireworks Festival would be absolutely spectacular!"
I immediately wanted to mark it down as a prime spot for the fireworks festival.
What was even more touching was their thoughtful consideration during the drone show.

When the Gwangalli Drone Show begins, the staff members will
dim the restaurant lights,
and even pause the grilling tongs for a moment.

They go above and beyond to ensure you can fully immerse yourself in the drone show outside,
meticulously creating the perfect view and atmosphere.
It seems many visitors flock here, especially on drone show days!

1988's Assorted Premium Korean Beef (Hanwoo) Platter, emerging from a cloud of mist!

We opted for the assorted Hanwoo platter, and when it arrived, served amidst a mystical cloud of dry ice, the Hanwoo platter's plating was so captivating that I couldn't help but grab my camera!

As luck would have it, there were international guests at the next table, and seeing their awe and delight at this spectacular presentation made me feel happy too!
Gwangalli has been welcoming many international tourists lately, and I sincerely hope even more will discover its charm!

The incredible staff, with their expert touch, meticulously grill every piece of meat for you from start to finish. All we had to do was relax and enjoy, just like little baby birds, as they perfectly cooked our delicious meal!

As they skillfully placed each cut on the grill, the staff kindly explained the unique characteristics of each part and the best ways to savor it. Every single piece was incredibly juicy, practically melting in my mouth, leaving me utterly amazed!

I loved being able to enjoy a meal with my daughter, free from the usual worries of smoke and grilling.
We could simply relax and chat, making for a truly satisfying dining experience.
And to top it all off, imagine taking a delicious bite of Hanwoo, then turning your head to gaze upon
the magnificent Gwangandaegyo Bridge – it was absolutely breathtaking.

Hearty and Deeply Flavorful Hanwoo Doenjang Sulbap

For our grand finale, we ordered the Hanwoo Doenjang Sulbap, brimming with premium Korean beef.
And let me tell you, the portion was much more generous than I anticipated!
Not only was it packed with Hanwoo, but it even had blue crab,
making for a Hanwoo Doenjang Jjigae with a rich seafood depth. A spoonful of hot rice,
topped with a reserved piece of succulent Hanwoo,
created a symphony of flavors: juicy Hanwoo perfectly harmonizing with the profound depth of the doenjang stew.
Ah, yes! This was truly the authentic taste of Korea, done right!

The portion was quite substantial for two people.
Though I bet a couple of hungry teenage boys could easily polish it off!
The generous pieces of blue crab lent a refreshing, cool taste to the broth,
and the seafood aroma was absolutely perfect. However, I did notice a tiny bit of
crab shell in a few bites.

It wasn't enough to be a bother though, so I happily kept digging in!

Overall Verdict
The fantastic, panoramic Gwangandaegyo Bridge views stretching out before you,
the stunning Gwangalli ocean vista,
the sensational Hanwoo presentation emerging from a cloud of smoke,
and the attentive service where the staff expertly grill each piece right at your table – it's all here.
If you're searching for an unforgettable family dining experience in Gwangalli, then 1988 Busan Hanwoo House is, without a doubt,
the only place I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Whether it's for the upcoming Busan Fireworks Festival,
a cherished family birthday, a special group gathering, or simply to impress important guests,
if you're craving a delicious meal in a truly spectacular setting,
I wholeheartedly recommend this spot.
