Today, after winning that tough booking battle, I'm excited to share my honest review of the Sky Capsule ride and a clear guide to all the Blueline Park station lines!

I learned the hard way that if you don't understand the distances between stations and the train line system beforehand, you'll end up doing a lot of unnecessary walking and sweating. So, let me share some practical tips from my own experience to save you the hassle!
Departing from Mipo Station! My Honest Review of the Sky Capsule and Beach Train Ride
Following the recommended route from our previous guide, we boarded the 1:30 PM Sky Capsule, departing from Mipo Station and arriving at Cheongsapo Station.
- Private and Cozy Interior: Each capsule is exclusively for your party (up to 4 people), offering a private, intimate space to chat and enjoy without worrying about others. It was perfect for family conversations!
- A Relaxing 2.5 MPH Ride: The speed is surprisingly slow – about 2.5 miles per hour (4 km/h). The journey from Mipo to Cheongsapo takes around 30 minutes, and simply gazing out at the emerald waters of Haeundae Beach is incredibly therapeutic.
You can check the timetable at the station, or simply ask one of the helpful Beach Train staff members for assistance!
Blueline Park Station Lines & Course Overview
Blueline Park is longer than you might expect, and the 'Sky Capsule' and 'Beach Train' actually use different stations. Understanding the route beforehand is crucial to avoid getting lost or wasting time. I initially struggled with this and ended up a bit disoriented... learn from my mistakes!
1. Mipo Station (Starting Point): This is the main departure point, closest to Haeundae Beach. Both the Sky Capsule and Beach Train are accessible here.
2. Cheongsapo Station (Mid-Point): The final stop for the Sky Capsule departing from Mipo. It's also famous for its nostalgic railway tracks, reminiscent of scenes from 'Slam Dunk.' (Remember, the Sky Capsule only operates between Mipo and Cheongsapo!)
3. Daritdol Observatory / Gudeokpo / Songjeong Stations: These stations are located past Cheongsapo. The Sky Capsule doesn't go this far; this section is only accessible via the 'Beach Train.'
Pro Tip! Don't Walk from Cheongsapo to Daritdol Observatory!
Because I hadn't properly memorized the station map... I saw the nicely built seaside deck path and thought, 'Hey, let's just stroll to Daritdol Observatory, the next stop.' Big mistake! We almost had a miserable time, haha!
The distance from Cheongsapo to Daritdol Observatory is quite a trek, and there's absolutely no shade from the sun. We naively walked it and the scorching heat combined with our dwindling energy made it incredibly tough for the whole family.
Remember this! The 'Beach Train' offers a cool and quick ride from Cheongsapo to Daritdol Observatory and all the way to Songjeong Station. When you book your tickets, consider a package that includes both the Sky Capsule and Beach Train from the start. That way, when you transition from Cheongsapo to Daritdol Observatory, you can definitely enjoy the comfortable, air-conditioned Beach Train ride. And be sure to ask for the Beach Train schedule so you can plan your time enjoying Cheongsapo before hopping on!
Cheongsapo Station: The Best Photo Zone Spot
Before you brave the walk to Daritdol Observatory, there's a killer photo spot near Cheongsapo Station that you absolutely shouldn't miss. It's gone viral on social media for its 'Kamajura railway' vibe, reminiscent of Japan!
📍 Exact Photo Zone Location: From Cheongsapo Station, walk a short distance down towards the outer road (in the direction of Cheongsapo Lighthouse). You'll find a 'railroad crossing' where the Beach Train passes with the ocean as a stunning backdrop.
Perfect Photo Timing: When you hear the 'ding-ding-ding' sound and a green or red Beach Train glides past the railway, try to capture both the sea and the train in one shot. Many say you can get wistful, refreshing photos that look straight out of a coming-of-age movie. (※ Please be extremely careful when taking photos, as this is an active road with cars!)
I really wanted to get some 'shot of a lifetime' photos too..... but our child was already exhausted, so we couldn't wait around for the perfect shot. The Beach Train doesn't pass by very frequently, so be prepared for a wait!
While booking was a challenge and we definitely learned some lessons the hard way, once we actually rode it, we instantly understood why Haeundae Blueline Park is considered a must-do in Busan!

The Sky Capsule operates from Mipo Station to Cheongsapo Station. It travels at 4km/h, and it takes approximately 30 minutes to get from Mipo to Cheongsapo.
The Sky Capsule only operates between Mipo Station and Cheongsapo Station. You can only reach Daritdol Observatory, Gudeokpo, and Songjeong Stations by Beach Train.
The distance from Cheongsapo to Daritdol Observatory is quite significant, and there is no shade to avoid the sun. Therefore, it is more comfortable and convenient to use the Beach Train rather than walking.
If you walk a little down from Cheongsapo Station towards the outer road (in the direction of Cheongsapo Lighthouse), you'll find a railroad crossing with the sea in the background where the Beach Train passes. This is a great photo zone. It's best to capture both the sea and the train in one frame when a green or red Beach Train passes by.
