On weekend nights (Saturdays and Sundays), Bui Vien transforms into a pedestrian-only zone, coming alive after 9 PM and staying buzzing until the early hours. It's truly a 24-hour hotspot!

With countless clubs, restaurants serving up delicious seafood and Banh Mi late into the night, and an endless array of street food, if you're looking to experience a full night of fun in Ho Chi Minh, District 1's Bui Vien Walking Street is the place to be!

Stretching for about 0.3 miles, Bui Vien Walking Street is a sensory explosion. As you stroll, you'll be constantly invited into clubs, witness street performers breathing fire, and encounter numerous hawkers and beggars. It's a chaotic, vibrant, and incredibly exciting scene – precisely what makes a tourist hotspot's nightlife so memorable. It's flashy, bustling, and undeniably fun!

At the far end of Bui Vien Walking Street, you'll find Waikiki Bar. This fantastic spot offers live performances, and its two floors each boast a distinct vibe. With delicious cocktails and affordable beers, it's the kind of place you'll want to return to every weekend!

While Bui Vien is lined with clubs featuring dancers in flashy outfits and shirtless guys, Waikiki Bar offers a more relaxed, yet equally fun, alternative. It's a live music bar where you can enjoy great cocktails and beer while soaking in the vibrant performances, a perfect choice for those seeking a lively atmosphere without the full-on club scene.

When you visit Waikiki Bar, I highly recommend trying at least one of their signature cocktails.

They come in unique, adorable glasses and feature fresh Vietnamese fruits, making them absolutely delicious! It almost feels like you're sipping a drink at a Waikiki bar in Hawaii.

If you opt for a table outside, you'll get to enjoy the live music while soaking in the lively street view of Bui Vien. However, be prepared for street vendors selling goods, persistent hawkers, and even fire-breathers or beggars with collection boxes, which can sometimes be a little distracting.

If you're seeking a quieter spot to enjoy drinks with friends, I highly recommend heading up to the second floor of Waikiki Bar.

Rest assured, Waikiki Bar has staff and security around the premises who ensure that these street vendors and hawkers don't enter the bar itself, maintaining a more comfortable environment inside.

We chose seats on the first floor, offering a great view of the live performance. After ordering our cocktails, we snapped a quick souvenir photo with Mirami.

We watched as other travelers enthusiastically danced in front of the stage, working up a sweat to the lively tunes.

Eventually, we couldn't resist joining them and had a fantastic time dancing along!

You can even write down song requests for the band, and yes, they're open to playing Korean songs too!

While they can't play every single request if there are many, a small tip of around 50,000-100,000 VND slipped in with your request often ensures your song gets played right away!

After enjoying our cocktails, we switched to Budweiser and continued to groove to the fantastic live music!

You can hand tips directly to the performers or discreetly tuck rolled-up bills into the music stand at the front of the stage!

We tipped 50,000 VND and requested a Korean song, and the band's guitarist sang Kim Bum-soo's "I Miss You." He was absolutely incredible – we were blown away!

This gentleman with the ponytail was absolutely amazing! He's an incredible guitarist and even sings a few songs himself.

We spent a fantastic three hours here, from 10 PM until 1 AM, enjoying the performances before heading to another live music bar, Lost in Saigon, where we partied until 4 AM!

Bui Vien Walking Street offers such an exhilarating experience, with lively performances right before your eyes, delicious cocktails, and cold beers, you won't even need to go to a festival! It truly is an essential stop on any Ho Chi Minh City itinerary.
