Full Course Review: From Airport Pickup to City Sightseeing
Next, I'll share our review of the entire itinerary,
from airport pickup to city sightseeing.
We flew Korean Air to Brisbane, landing around 6:40 AM.
After clearing immigration and collecting our luggage,
we were able to exit the airport around 8 AM.
We informed our guide beforehand about our flight arrival details
and our immigration progress, and they arrived at the pickup location right on time.
Even though we were a little late because our luggage inspection took longer than expected,
our guide kindly shared updates via KakaoTalk, which was very reassuring.
After pickup, we headed to our first destination,
the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens.
Along the way, our guide shared many fascinating stories about Australia and Brisbane,
keeping us thoroughly entertained.
The Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens is a massive green space
where we could indirectly experience Australia's diverse nature.
We visited in May, which is early autumn there,
and still found plenty of lush, green plants.
And there were so many diverse plants I'd never seen in my home country,
along with gigantic trees – it was truly amazing.
We slowly explored everything from the indoor botanical garden
to the large pond at its center. The beautiful scenery meant there were
so many fantastic spots to take photos!
Since our guide also works as a photographer,
we were able to capture some truly epic 'life photos' here.
Next, we headed to Mount Coot-tha Summit Lookout.
This is a free lookout where you can see the entire Brisbane city center at a glance.
It's a bit far from the city, so
it can be a bit inconvenient to get to on your own.
At the lookout, there was a café and brunch restaurant,
and countless locals were already enjoying a leisurely time.
What's more, the city view from here was
far more beautiful than I had imagined.
It wasn't just a dense urban landscape;
the impressive green spaces interspersed throughout really stood out.
Seeing this really made me feel like I had truly arrived in Australia!
Next up on our itinerary was South Bank.
This is a large park along the Brisbane River,
most famous for its Street's Beach.
It's definitely one of Brisbane's iconic landmarks!
In the park, many locals were strolling,
enjoying picnics, or swimming at the beach.
You could truly feel the unique, relaxed vibe everywhere.
Having been busy working at the office until the day before,
walking through a park with such an atmosphere
felt a bit surreal at first.
But after a little while, we found ourselves completely immersed in the peaceful vibe too.
Across the river, we could see tall city buildings like
Queen's Wharf. Apparently, there's an observation deck on the 23rd floor of that building.
We didn't visit due to time constraints, but
if you have the chance to include it in your tour,
I imagine you could capture some stunning panoramic views of the city.
Instead, we opted for a quick coffee at a café
with a view of the Wheel of Brisbane. Savoring true relaxation in such a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere
made that moment absolutely blissful.
For a moment, I even found myself wishing I could live in Brisbane!
Afterward, we moved on to the final stop of our city tour:
Kangaroo Point.
The name is quite unique – apparently, it was given because in the past, when hunting kangaroos,
they were herded towards these cliffs.
In a nutshell, this is also a city lookout point, but
Unlike the observation points I mentioned earlier,
you can see the 'Brisbane City' skyline.
Seeing the densely packed skyscrapers,
I thought, 'City centers truly are similar everywhere you go!'
and I found that quite interesting.
Kangaroo Point, our final stop,
was also a fantastic spot for taking photos.
If you sit on the stone wall along the cliff and snap some pictures,
you'll get the city, the riverbank, and even boats all in one frame,
making it perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots!
Highly Recommended If You Want to Travel Comfortably!
From pickup to exploring five city attractions,
after about 5 hours of sightseeing,
I even got a drop-off back to the hotel I'd booked.
Although I was quite tired after arriving in Brisbane,
listening to the guide's informative and engaging explanations,
and reveling in the beauty of the city's landmarks,
I was having so much fun that I didn't even notice my fatigue!
What's more, being able to explore the main attractions in just half a day,
and check into my hotel right after the tour ended,
allowed me to make my travel itinerary even more efficient.
