While most travelers tend to spend a maximum of two nights in Granada, it's personally one of my absolute favorite cities. So, to really soak it all in and take a few day trips to nearby towns, I decided to stay for three whole nights.

Planning a three-night stay meant that choosing the right accommodation was incredibly crucial. A bad hotel can completely ruin your mood, mess up your sleep, and honestly put a dampener on the whole trip. That's why I did my homework and picked this place with extra care.

I cannot recommend this Granada hotel enough: Boutique Hotel Luna Granada. I took tons of photos, so let’s dive right in and check it out together!

1. Where is the best location to stay in Granada?

Granada has a slightly elongated layout. The bus terminal is located in the northern part of the city, while the city center lies slightly south of the geographical center. Since the main commercial and lively area revolves around the Cathedral, you definitely want to find a place nearby.

A tapas tour is an absolute must-do here, and if you want to hop around various spots late into the night, staying in the heart of the city center is a non-negotiable.

*Of course, there are some famous local bars located slightly outside the immediate city center too!

When visiting Granada, you'll likely arrive or head to neighboring cities by bus.

Although the main bus terminal is a bit far from the Cathedral, local city buses run frequently between the two, making it super easy to get back and forth.

On the map above, the Boutique Hotel Luna (where I stayed) is located right where the star icon is, which was a very convenient 10-minute walk to the Cathedral.

2. The perfect trifecta: Location, price, and interior design

Generally speaking, hotel prices in Granada are slightly more budget-friendly than in its neighboring city, Seville. This makes it the perfect opportunity to splurge on a gorgeous 4- or 5-star hotel that might have felt out of reach in Barcelona or Seville!

Boutique Hotel Luna Granada is a centrally located hotel just 10 minutes from the Cathedral. It’s a beautifully historic building that has been fully renovated. Since it's a remodeled heritage property, it’s only three stories high, but step inside and it feels like a brand-new, ultra-modern hotel.

The hotel entrance faces the main street, and as you walk in, you’re greeted by a cozy reception desk and a chic sofa lounge area.

(The lobby has such a warm, cozy vibe and gorgeous interior. I wish my own home looked like this...)

Just look at this lobby! Aren't the colors absolutely gorgeous? I fell in love with this place the second I saw photos of the lobby online.

It’s hard to see the flames in the photo, but that’s actually a cozy fireplace right behind the sofa. Talk about a warm welcome!

There were two staff members at the cozy reception desk, and they welcomed us with the warmest smiles.

After checking in, we took the elevator up—even though we were only going up one floor, we had heavy suitcases! The color palette of the hotel, especially the dusty pink accents, looks absolutely beautiful even looking back at the photos now. Simply tap your keycard to enter.

3. Boutique Hotel Luna: Standard Double Room Review

I stayed in the Standard Double Room (their base room category) for three nights, and I have to say, the room layout here is quite unique!

As soon as you walk in, there's a sink on your left and a restroom on your right. And I mean literally just a toilet room, not a full bathroom.

Here is the sink and toilet area on the left. If I had to pick the absolute only downside of this hotel, it would have to be this unique layout.

Let me walk you through this section first.

By the sink, you'll find a hairdryer along with some lovely toiletries.

In line with the eco-friendly trend, the complimentary lotions and soaps weren't single-use, but they smelled incredible! They are from a brand called RITUALS, which I found out is a Dutch brand that even has its own standalone boutique shops here in Spain.

Take a step further inside, and you're greeted by a wonderfully spacious room! I loved the clean, sleek tiled floor, and there was plenty of space to open up two large suitcases without feeling cramped at all.

See that door on the right side of the photo? That's the shower space.

It's literally just a dedicated shower cabin. I didn't catch it in the photo, but the space right in front of it is actually quite roomy and had a small side table placed there.

While having the toilet and shower completely separated can be convenient if two people are getting ready at the same time, it can feel a bit awkward when one person wants to use both.

Plus, while having a sink outside the bathroom is fairly common in boutique hotels, since it was completely separated from the shower area, it felt a little disjointed having to do your skincare and brush your teeth completely apart from your shower routine.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I remember sleeping like a baby.

A spacious bed with crisp, clean bedding! It comes with two pillows each—one super plush, and the other slightly higher and firmer. Not a huge difference, but a nice touch!

There are nightstands, light switches, and power outlets on both sides. I absolutely loved this detail!

There's a smart TV, a spacious desk right underneath, and a peek of the wardrobe space! Instead of a traditional closed closet, they went with an open shelving and hanging rack system. It was quite roomy and super convenient to use.

Underneath the TV, we found an electric kettle, a capsule coffee machine, two complimentary bottles of water, and some local specialty nut snacks (which were absolutely delicious!).

On the shelves next to the hanging rack, there was a safe and large bath towels, with a mini-fridge tucked neatly below.

4. Hotel Amenities & Facilities

Let me introduce the dining area located right behind the lobby.

Right by the entrance of the dining area, there's a coffee machine and tea selection available for all guests. We were so busy running around that we only grabbed water, haha.

On one side, there's a little trickling water fountain that looks like something straight out of an old European alleyway (not for drinking!). From there, the space opens up into a wonderfully chic, stylish patio. It’s not huge, but it has so much character.

Since I arrived at night, the dining area looks a bit dark here. I took a quick snap and then took another photo during the day when the sunlight poured in. Let’s check that out below!

The rooftop features a cute, cozy little pool! From up there, you can look down at the plaza with its beautiful fountain. The area stays vibrant and well-lit late into the night, making it perfect for evening strolls. It just puts you in such a great mood!

This is what the dining area looks like around breakfast time. I took this from my room, so it's a slightly elevated view, but isn't it absolutely gorgeous?

I didn't sign up for breakfast since I had a jam-packed schedule starting early in the morning.

A look at the clean and organized breakfast buffet. Though it's a bit far to see in detail, they have fruits, bread, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, and more beautifully laid out.

I don't know who designed this space, but they absolutely nailed my aesthetic.

The hotel I'm introducing today, Boutique Hotel Luna Granada, is a place I picked after endless research because I was planning to stay here for a full three nights.

With a stellar 4.8 rating on Google, a fantastic location, and amazing value for the quality, I would highly recommend this place to absolutely anyone.

Above all, the reviews constantly raved about the friendly staff—and they weren't exaggerating. Out of all the hotels we stayed at during this European trip, the staff here was by far the friendliest.

It's not that other places weren't nice, but the hospitality here was next-level. You just can't help but smile at how incredibly welcoming they are.

5. Granada Hotel Recommendations

These are the hotels that made my ultimate shortlist, which I agonized over until the very last minute. They are in a similar price range and located right in the heart of the city, so comparing them might help you choose your perfect home away from home!

✔️Room Mate Leo

This is the place I was seriously torn about until the final moment.

I loved the rooms, and the view from the rooftop actually looked even better than the place I ended up staying at. However, after reading reviews and analyzing Google Maps from every angle, it seemed like the neighboring building was just too close, meaning there was a chance of getting a room with a completely blocked view. So, I ultimately decided to pass. Other than that, I think it's a fantastic hotel!

✔️Sercotel Granada Suites

This is a brand-new, residence-style property.

Looking at it now, it still looks incredibly clean and boasts the largest room sizes! It feels like you're renting out your own stylish studio apartment.

Since it comes with kitchen facilities, it seems perfect for longer stays, and I loved it for so many reasons. The price is just slightly higher than my other choices.

✔️Barceló Carmen Granada

This is a hotel where you can catch a glimpse of the Alhambra right from the rooftop!

Seeing them all gathered together like this, my personal taste in room interiors is so obvious, haha.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like about it—everything was great—but I ended up filtering it out because I was looking for a slightly more budget-friendly option.

The rooftop view is way better than where I stayed, and having even a tiny terrace in the room makes the whole space feel so much more open and airy.
