3 Best Budget-Friendly, Spacious Hotels in Fukuoka & Honest Reviews
Hey fellow explorers!
With the weather being absolutely perfect right now—not too hot, not too cold—May 2026 is arguably the best time to visit Fukuoka.
As a frequent traveler to Fukuoka, I know how tricky it can be to find the right accommodation.
Today, I'm sharing my top 3 budget-friendly hotels that offer surprisingly spacious rooms and unbeatable locations!
If you haven't booked your Fukuoka hotel yet, listen up!
First-timers usually gravitate towards Hakata Station. However, as an experienced traveler, I highly recommend booking a hotel near Tenjin Station or Tenjin-Minami Station instead.
Why? Because the Tenjin area is the true hub for the city's best restaurants, trendy cafes, and endless shopping!
If you want a smoother, more convenient travel experience, make Tenjin your home base.

My first recommendation is The OneFive Fukuoka Tenjin.
Located just a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station,
it’s surrounded by great restaurants, convenience stores, bus stops, and the subway.
The accessibility is top-tier.

The lobby features convenient luggage storage lockers, making drop-offs a breeze.

The interior is clean, modern, and minimalist. It's one of the most popular
budget hotels for a reason.

The bathroom is fully stocked with shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap, and a hairdryer.
Additional towels and single-use amenities are available
in the lobby—you can just grab what you need!

I loved having power outlets right next to the bed for easy charging.
There's also a dedicated desk space for laptops,
making it a solid choice for digital nomads or business travelers.
To save you time and money, I compared the lowest prices
across platforms, and Agoda was the cheapest!

~$99 | ~$100 | ~$141 |

My second pick is Hotel Monte Hermana.
It's a quick 5-minute walk from Watanabe-dori Station and
just an 8-minute walk from Tenjin-Minami Station.
What sets this place apart is how incredibly spacious and quiet it is.
Plus, it features a double-security entry system.
I highly recommend this spot, especially for solo female travelers.

The lobby is massive, and they have incredibly helpful staff
who speak English, Japanese, and Korean.

The rooms are wonderfully large, featuring full-sized wardrobes and drawers.
The beds are generously sized with plenty of space between them,
ensuring a comfortable night's sleep.
They even provide complimentary pajamas!
The fabric is incredibly soft, so you can save luggage space
and sleep comfortably without packing your own.

The bathroom is spotless and well-equipped
with shampoo, body wash, and everything else you need.
I particularly loved the small built-in shelves—they kept my
toiletries and personal items dry and organized!

You can actually open the windows for fresh air,
and the room is large enough to easily fully open two 28-inch suitcases.

If you prioritize having a spacious room,
Hotel Monte Hermana is the way to go.
Once again, I checked the lowest prices,
and Agoda came out on top.

~$83 (Double) | ~$87 (Twin) | ~$115 (Double) | ~$109 (Twin) | ~$111 (Double) | ~$113 (Twin) |

My final budget-friendly recommendation is
the Best Western Plus Hotel.
Located an 8-minute walk from Tenjin-Minami Station and 12 minutes from Tenjin Station,
it offers fantastic transit access for your adventures.

This hotel offers room types that can accommodate 3 to 4 people.
If you are traveling in a group of 3, I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The facilities are excellent, featuring on-site laundry,
vending machines, and a well-stocked amenity bar.

It's notoriously difficult to find good triple rooms in Japan,
but Best Western Plus delivers with spacious layouts,
pristine beds, and a prime location.
It's truly an optimal choice.

The triple room provides ample sleeping space, plus a separate
sofa and table area. It was the perfect spot to kick back with
some convenience store snacks and a cold beer after a long day of exploring.
I was incredibly satisfied with this stay!!!

There's also extra space near the bathroom to
lay out your luggage, along with a nightstand and chair
that doubles as a handy workstation.

The bathroom is roomy and comes fully stocked with fresh towels and a hairdryer.
Because this hotel is so popular, rooms book up fast.
If you have a Fukuoka trip coming up,
I suggest securing your reservation ASAP!
Once again, Agoda offered the best rates.
If Agoda is sold out of triple rooms,
Trip.com sometimes has backup inventory, so keep that in mind!
