Gwangalli Bamu Hotel Deluxe Ocean View
Jacuzzi Couple's Trip: An Honest Review
Text & Photos by Traveler Mado
To celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend
and enjoy a special day,
we visited Bamu Hotel & Spa,
located right in front of Gwangalli.
The room I stayed in was
a Deluxe Ocean King room.
While it didn't offer a direct front view of Gwangandaegyo Bridge,
Gwangalli Beach was visible with a refreshing expanse
from the room.
Most importantly, with its spacious room, large jacuzzi,
and pristine condition,
it was truly a satisfying stay.

Moreover, when I recently compared prices again,
even for the same Deluxe Ocean King room,
there was quite a difference depending on the booking site.
Today, along with my honest review,
I'll delve into a current price comparison and
even share a tip to book for ~$35 less.
I'll cover everything in detail.

What I loved most about Bamu Hotel was its
location.
Stepping out of the hotel,
Gwangalli Beach is right in front,
making it perfect for beach strolls.
Plus, with an abundance of seafood restaurants, grilled clam eateries, king crab spots, cafes, bars,
photo studios, arcades, and more,
the area is packed with amenities,
making it incredibly convenient to explore without a car.

If you're coming from Busan Station,
you can catch the 41 bus
from the Busan Station Plaza
and get here without any transfers.
(Approx. 45 minutes travel time)

I arrived right at 3 PM for check-in,
and the lobby was clean and charmingly decorated.
The check-in process was also quick,
so I could head straight to my room.
Just a heads-up, the reception is on the 2nd floor,
and they do verify ID during check-in,
so be sure to bring yours!

There's a Wide Variety of Room Types Too!
Beyond the Deluxe Ocean King room I stayed in,
Bamu Hotel offers diverse room types, including City View rooms, Premium Ocean Rooms,
Suites, Terrace Ocean Suites,
and even Penthouses.
This means it can cater not only to couples but also
groups traveling to Busan,
allowing you to choose a room that perfectly fits your group size.

When I recently checked for available dates,
many dates and room types were already fully booked.
So, if you have a specific travel date in mind, like a weekend or an anniversary,
I recommend checking for your desired room availability
in advance :)

Deluxe Ocean King Room & Jacuzzi Review

The Deluxe Ocean King room is
an ocean-view room designed for two, spanning approximately 11 pyeong (36.3m²).
As soon as I stepped into the room,
Gwangalli Beach stretched out refreshingly
beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows.
To be precise,
it wasn't a view directly facing Gwangandaegyo Bridge,
but rather a side view of Gwangalli Beach.

But during the day, the sunlight glittered on the sea,
and as the sun began to set,
the ambiance transformed completely,
so I left the blinds open and watched for a long time.
More than for those who absolutely need a direct view of Gwangandaegyo Bridge,
for travelers who want to gaze at Gwangalli Beach from their room

The room itself was more spacious than I expected,
it was certainly enough space for two adults,
and the bed was large and plush,
so I slept incredibly comfortably.

Overall, the interior design was clean and uncluttered,
and the facilities felt brand new and spotless,
which was very satisfying for someone like me
who prioritizes room condition.

Plus, when you check in,
you can also rent Dyson products!
Dyson Airwrap
Dyson Supersonic
or a beam projector + a regular hairdryer.
You could choose one of these.

What's more, there's even a capsule coffee machine in the room,
so you can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee!

The biggest reason I chose Vamu Hotel,
The Jacuzzi
While the ocean view was fantastic,
the biggest reason I chose this accommodation
was definitely the private jacuzzi.
In person, it was much larger
than it appeared in the pictures.
Even with my boyfriend and me, two adults, inside,
there was still plenty of space.

However, given its size,
it took about 30 minutes
to fill it completely with water.
(I recommend filling it in advance!)
When using the jacuzzi,
there were blinds on the panoramic window right next to it,
so we could easily cover it for privacy.

With the warm water filled to the brim,
my boyfriend and I enjoyed a cozy moment together,
gazing at the Gwangalli scenery outside.
It was a truly successful anniversary stay! Haha.

In the bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, body wash,
robes, toothbrushes, and toothpaste
were all well-prepared as basic amenities.

Breakfast Review

The next morning,
Vamu Hotel offers a
complimentary breakfast.
Instead of heading down to a breakfast restaurant like at a typical hotel,
there's a different approach.
They brought our selected menu items right to our room,
which was incredibly convenient.

For breakfast,
we could choose between a sandwich or abalone porridge,
and I picked the sandwich,
while my boyfriend went for the abalone porridge.
They even included an iced Americano,
making it a pretty satisfying breakfast.

Checkout was at 11 AM,
and since luggage storage was available even after checkout,
we were able to explore Millak the Market nearby
and even grab lunch at a Gwangalli hot spot.
Being right next to Gwangalli Beach,
it was super convenient to connect our plans
even after checking out!

Price Comparison ・ Booking Tips

When I first booked VAMU Hotel myself,
I compared several booking sites
before making my reservation.
This time, when I re-compared prices for the same Deluxe Ocean King room,
the price difference was quite significant.
Trip.com | Agoda | Yeogi Eottae |
~$151 Based on first-time booking discount | ~$179 | ~$186 |
Based on the prices I checked,
Trip.com was the cheapest
when applying the first-time booking discount.
Compared to Yeogi Eottae,
there was a difference of about ~$35,
and even compared to Agoda,
the difference was about ~$28.

When I made my booking, I also applied
Trip.com's first-time booking discount
to get a better price.
Even if you have previous booking history,
Trip.com allows you to create new accounts
using email, Naver, Kakao, Google, Kakao, or Facebook,
giving you 6 options to get that first-time discount again!

Also, after booking on Trip.com,
you can earn TripCoins
which can be used like cash.
I actually used the TripCoins I collected this way
to buy an airport limousine ticket for my trip to Japan later on,
and they turned out to be quite handy! Haha.
To Conclude

After spending a night here myself,
I felt that VAMU Hotel, right in the heart of Gwangalli,
is a perfect fit for couples looking to spend romantic time together
and for those who want to relax leisurely at their accommodation.
With spacious rooms and even a jacuzzi,
it's not just great for couples,
but also seems well-suited for family trips with children who love water play.

Especially if you are:
looking for accommodation right in front of Gwangalli Beach,
someone who prioritizes clean and spacious rooms,
a couple or family wanting a large jacuzzi for kids to enjoy,
seeking a place for an anniversary or a 'hocance' (hotel vacation) in Busan,
then I think it's definitely worth checking out and comparing!

Most importantly, even for the same room type,
Prices can vary quite a bit depending on the booking site,
so if I were you, I'd absolutely compare the final payment amounts thoroughly
before booking.
When I checked,
the price with Trip.com's first-time booking discount applied
was the cheapest,
So, if your travel dates are set,
while your preferred room is still available,
definitely check out the current prices right away :)

The Deluxe Ocean King room does not offer a direct frontal view of Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Instead, it provides a side view of Gwangalli Beach. This room is ideal for guests who wish to relax and enjoy the Gwangalli sea from their room.
The jacuzzi in the Deluxe Ocean King room is quite large, so it takes approximately 30 minutes to fill completely. We recommend filling the jacuzzi in advance if you plan to use it.
You can take bus number 41 from in front of Busan Station Plaza directly to VAMU Hotel without any transfers. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
Instead of a traditional breakfast restaurant, VAMU Hotel provides breakfast by delivering your chosen menu directly to your room. Breakfast options include a sandwich or abalone porridge, both served with an iced Americano.
