Can you believe it? This week, I'm finally embarking on my long-awaited trip to Abu Dhabi and the Maldives!
But guess what? I still haven't booked my Abu Dhabi hotel for this Friday, a night in the Maldives next week, or my return transit hotel in Abu Dhabi. Ha!
Typical me, waiting until the last minute to sort things out...
My return flight path is Malé – Abu Dhabi – Incheon. With a substantial 9-hour and 55-minute layover in Abu Dhabi, finding a comfortable and convenient transit hotel was absolutely essential.
That's when I stumbled upon AUHotel. What makes it unique is the flexible 6-hour or 12-hour booking options. While it's not exactly a budget-friendly option, the real selling point is its location *inside* Abu Dhabi Airport, meaning you don't have to go through immigration to access it!
Considering my layover is overnight, this convenience isn't just a choice—it's a necessity. Sometimes, you just have to pay for peace of mind and comfort!

Since I'm planning to book the 12-hour option, I'll focus on comparing prices for that duration. They offer rooms with either one Queen bed or two Twin beds, and the prices are typically the same for both. We opted for the two Twin beds!

Klook's price, including taxes and fees, came out to ~$158. After deducting points for future bookings (which was ~$1), the net price was still ~$158.
2. Agoda
Agoda listed the room for ~$158.
3. Booking.com
Booking.com showed a total of ~$157 (combining the base rate and fees).
4. HotelsCombined
HotelsCombined conveniently lists prices from various providers, showing the cheapest options first.
The first listing, from Hotels.com, caught my eye: ~$125 for a Deluxe Room, which is even larger than a Superior Room and cheaper! When I clicked through, the price initially showed ~$125, but after logging in, it dropped even further to ~$111!
