When choosing a hotel in Macau, you probably find yourself deliberating between the large resorts in Cotai and the hotels on the Peninsula.
Especially if you're arriving by ferry or planning to explore Senado Square, you're likely most curious about shuttle services, the cost of breakfast, and whether you can get two connecting rooms for kids.
I had the same concerns and ended up staying at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau. This post is a review based on my own expenses, paid for myself.
01. Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau: Essential Information
📍 Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau
📍 Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau
956-1110 Avenida da Amizade, Macau
⏰
Check-in 3:00 PM / Check-out 11:00 AM
Check-in Front Desk : 24-hour operation
Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau is located right next to Sands Macau on the Macau Peninsula.
It has a shuttle service to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, but no dedicated airport shuttle.
Breakfast is served at Café Bela Vista (6:30 AM - 10:30 AM).
The pool is free for guests, and room service is available 24 hours.
It's a 3-minute walk to Sands Macau Hotel, and about a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.
This makes it highly recommended for those planning to travel to Hong Kong by ferry!
Furthermore, unlike Cotai, it's not in the middle of a casino, so the hotel interior is much quieter and more comfortable than expected, making it perfect for those seeking relaxation.
02. Price Comparison: What to Check Before Booking
The typical nightly rate is around ~$150, but if you book on weekdays, you can often find it in the ~$75 range, making it a great value hotel in Macau.

03. Room & Connecting Room Review

We visited with three people and stayed in a Family Connecting Room. A connecting room is essentially two identical rooms joined by a single door.
With two rooms connected by one door, you can sleep separately while still using them as a single shared space.
At 64㎡, the rooms are incredibly spacious and can accommodate up to 4 people. Having separate spaces definitely felt great!

The room featured simple furnishings, just as shown on the booking website, and the interior was kept very clean.

The check-in process was quick, and even though we arrived earlier than the check-in time, they kindly allowed us an early check-in!

The lobby was also meticulously clean and well-maintained,
and the seating area for relaxing while waiting
was wonderfully appointed.

What's more, there are plenty of amazing restaurants near the hotel,
and being right by the sea means Fisherman's Wharf is just a stone's throw away.
The streets are also impeccably clean,
making my stay incredibly satisfying.
04. Shuttle & How to Get to the Airport
🚌 Shuttle & Airport Access
✔ Hotel Shuttle: No dedicated hotel shuttle,
but you can take the Sands Hotel free shuttle and walk for 5 minutes.
While the hotel itself doesn't have a dedicated shuttle,
you can use the Sands Hotel shuttle bus, which is
located a 5-minute walk (practically next door) away!

Shuttle times change seasonally,
so please make sure to check the official website
before you go!

05. Artyzen Grand Lapa Swimming Pool

We didn't get to use it due to our sightseeing schedule,
but I later found out that a day pass for non-guests costs
MOP 350 (approximately ~$45),
which made me regret not taking advantage of the free access for guests.
Inside, there's a 25m lagoon-style outdoor heated pool,
complete with waterfalls, a Jacuzzi, and even a slide pool for kids.
Operating hours are from 06:30 to 22:00, so it opens quite early.
If you're traveling with children, it's so impressive you could easily dedicate half a day to the pool,
so next time, I'll definitely make sure to use the pool!
06. Breakfast & Restaurants & Room Service
🍴Hotel Restaurants
✔Café Bela Vista: Macanese, Portuguese, Asian
06:30~22:00 (Seafood buffet on Friday–Sunday evenings)
✔Kam Lai Heen: Cantonese cuisine
11:00~15:00 / 18:00~22:00, Closed on Tuesdays
✔NAAM: Thai cuisine, Michelin Guide Recommended 4 years in a row,
Closed on Mondays
✔Vasco Bar: Cocktails, Closed on Mondays
Breakfast is served buffet-style at Café Bela Vista on the 2nd floor
(06:30~10:30).
It costs MOP 218 for adults and MOP 105 (approximately ~$13) for children, with kids under 5 eating free.
On days you just want to relax in your room, 24-hour room service is available,
so there was no need to go out, even late at night.
There are fewer late-night restaurants on the peninsula side compared to Cotai,
but with excellent in-house dining
and 24-hour room service, this was certainly not a concern.
This hotel was a great fit for those who prefer quiet relaxation over the bright lights of casinos,
and for whom easy access to Senado Square and the Ferry Terminal is a priority.
Next time, I plan to stay again and definitely make time for the pool.
