Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 Review 2026: Old Town Retreat

Following my Hong Kong post, here's my Macau 'Hocance' (hotel vacation) review,

and in Macau, I had the pleasure of staying at Sofitel.

I was completely satisfied with everything at Sofitel, located in the Old Town,

from breakfast to the pool and gym!

This is my self-funded review of my Macau 'Hocance',

Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16

Deluxe Room

• Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16, 2 nights

Sofitel is located in Macau's Old Town.

The room I stayed in was a Deluxe Room with one King bed.

Not only was the room condition impeccable,

the view from the window was also absolutely stunning.

A river flows in front,

and you can see other Macau buildings on the opposite bank, which looked even more beautiful lit up at night.

Not only were the beddings incredibly clean and plush,

the bathroom was also very clean and wonderful.

There was even a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak.

It's truly in perfect condition for a luxurious 'Hocance'.

And near the window, there's a sofa,

making it a perfect spot to relax comfortably.

Enjoying a late-night snack here while gazing at the river? Simply amazing!

Sofitel boasts excellent and clean facilities,

but I also loved the beautiful paintings adorning various spots throughout the room.

I relaxed comfortably while enjoying the welcome dessert.

The weather was lovely that day, making the night view exceptionally beautiful.

And this is the vibe during the day.

On clear days, the shimmering sunlight on the water is absolutely gorgeous.

Breakfast

• Mistral, 6th Floor, 7:00-10:30 AM (until 11:00 AM on weekends)

The breakfast spot is Mistral, located on the 6th floor.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious – it exceeded all my expectations!

And the variety? Simply incredible.

The bakery selection, in particular, was incredibly diverse and utterly delicious!

As a true bread enthusiast, I was beyond thrilled 💛

Let's just say I indulged quite a bit from the moment breakfast started! ^^

Swimming Pool & Gym

• Located on the 3rd floor

The hotel boasts a fantastic outdoor swimming pool, but the beautiful sculptures and stunning landscaping were truly a sight to behold!

Plus, there are ample sunbeds, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing swim.

Just a tip: if the weather is exceptionally hot, you might want to avoid swimming between 2-3 PM.

I highly recommend taking a dip early in the morning, before the sun rises too high, for a truly refreshing experience!

Conveniently, the gym is located right in front of the pool!

This means you can enjoy your workout with a refreshing view of the water.

It also appears that hotel guests can use the facilities for free, which is a great bonus!

Shuttle Bus

Getting to and from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal is a breeze, thanks to the hotel's complimentary round-trip shuttle bus!

It's completely free to use, and it seems to run quite frequently, making transfers very convenient.

(Expect a wait of around 15-20 minutes between departures.)

Since shuttle bus timetables can change frequently,

I always recommend checking with the hotel's front desk upon arrival for the most up-to-date schedule.
