The 2026 Andong International Mask Dance Festival, held at Talchum Park, truly offered an incredible array of sights, activities, and culinary delights.

The performances by local community members were particularly heartwarming and captivating.
Beyond traditional Korean fare, there was a diverse selection of food, including a fun pop-up Lotte리아 (Korean fast-food chain) stand, which was a delightful surprise!
Strolling through the festival grounds and discovering the various shops and hands-on experience zones was a joy. Spotting the 'Yekki Store' brought back fond memories of a family trip to Yekki Village, a charming art village we visited previously.
It seemed like a hub for local artists, including Kwak In-gu, to engage in cultural exchange activities within Andong.
There was even a dynamic dance festival taking place simultaneously, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The bright smiles of the participants were infectious, spreading happiness to everyone watching.
The Mask Dance Performance Hall truly is the heart of the festival, showcasing captivating performances from various countries around the world.
For those who purchase tickets for these paid performances, there's an added bonus: a ~$1 discount on admission to Yu Gyeo Land (Confucian Land), a fascinating educational theme park nearby.

During the 2026 Andong International Mask Dance Festival, there was even a survey event where participants received a complimentary toothpaste set. Our whole family took part and walked away with some fun souvenirs!

It was truly fascinating to see such a diverse collection of masks from various countries all in one place!

There were booths offering tastings and sales of various Andong soju, as well as vendors selling delicious galbitang (rib soup) made with Andong Hanwoo (Korean beef) and traditional Andong Sikhye (a sweet rice punch).
The Talchum Restaurant was undoubtedly the largest dining establishment at this year's Andong International Mask Dance Festival.

The 2026 Andong International Mask Dance Festival, which coincided with the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday, was a fantastic event for families. It offered a wonderful opportunity to enjoy diverse experiences, fascinating sights, and delicious food, creating truly happy memories. We're already looking forward to attending again with our family next year if the opportunity arises!
If you purchase a paid performance ticket for the Mask Dance Performance Hall, you can receive a discount of ~$1 on admission to Confucian Land. At the performance hall, you can enjoy performances from various countries, including Malaysia, the United States, and Thailand, starting with the Hahoe Byeolsingut Talnori.
