After soaking up Dalat's vibrant city life, it's time for some serious relaxation. Discover Ana Mandara Villas Dalat, a secluded resort perfect for a rejuvenating escape.
Now that you've thoroughly explored Dalat city and soaked in its charm,
it's time for some serious relaxation and rejuvenation.
That's why I made my way to a Dalat hotel dedicated to pure relaxation.
When you're choosing your stay in Dalat,
some people opt to skip the city center entirely and head straight
for a resort from the get-go,
but in those cases, I often hear they either end up coming back to the city anyway,
or they feel like they're missing out on something, even while enjoying the resort.
Of course, not everyone feels that way, haha,
but I've definitely read some posts that suggest it, haha.
And honestly, I'd probably be the same.
So, you're probably wondering, which amazing Dalat hotel am I talking about?

This is it!
I really meant to snap a photo of the main entrance,
but we just zoomed straight in with Grab, and I totally missed it... ㅠ

This is the reception desk.
It's incredibly spacious and inviting.
While I was checking in, I casually glanced around, and what did I find?

There was a vibrant live band performance, complete with delicious street food!
And it was happening on the very day I checked in! Talk about perfect timing!
How lucky is that, right? 😉
Oh, and a yoga class too!
Now, this one was scheduled for 7 AM, so initially, I wasn't planning on joining...
But as I relaxed and recharged here,
my energy levels bounced back, and I decided to give it a try on my last day!
More on that exciting adventure later, haha!
(And get this – it's FREE!!)

The street food event featuring the live band
was highlighted again by the staff during check-in.
You can purchase coupons in advance at the reception desk,
and then use them to sample all the delicious food!
Oh, and of course, you can also just buy items directly on the spot – no need for coupons if you prefer, haha!
Even though I'd already savored Banh Trang Nuong
and other delights in the city center,
Still, it was a special event,
so I decided to have dinner there and experience the unique ambiance.

It looks like they also offer chocolate cooking classes and painting classes,
but I decided to give those a miss, haha!
This Dalat hotel, Ana Mandara Resort, features individual villas spread out across the grounds.
From my intrepid explorations, haha,
it looked like there were up to 26 villas in total,
and I was right! I later confirmed it when I spotted the full map near the reception desk, haha!

The spot where this map was displayed,
is typically just driven past by cars,
so I had no idea there was even a map there at first, haha!
Anyway, moving on.
That's why you take a cart to get around.
My chosen retreat was Villa No. 15!

Inside this villa, there are individual guest rooms...
I'd say about five of them, perhaps?

And here's a peek at the room – doesn't it have such a cozy vibe? 😊

The bathtub is right in the middle of the room, LOL!

There's even a fireplace here, designed for burning wood.
Oh, I wondered if it actually worked??
Turns out the logs are just for decoration,
but the space heater does work!
Just turn that switch, and warm air comes out.

Amenities and the minibar.
The minibar is quite well-stocked with a variety of items.
From wine
(I heard Dalat wine was famous, so I bought one from Langfarm and tried it...
but it wasn't really my cup of tea haha)
to chocolates and nuts.

Different angles of the room view, toilet, and sinks.
Since the bathtub is inside the room,
only the toilet is in its own separate 'room' (?).
There were two sinks.

Just looking out the window already gives you such a healing vibe... haha.
That's enough exploring the room for now,
shall we head out and explore the rest of the villa?

Oh, and these are the 'Please make up the room' and 'Do not disturb' signs.
The one on the left means 'Do not disturb,'
and the one on the right means 'Please make up the room.'
LOL!

Also, there's a shared living room (?) on the first floor of the villa.
We didn't really have a chance to use it,
but it's there, nonetheless.

Since we didn't know the layout yet, we just started walking aimlessly.
Oh, and there's even a golf driving range!

The overall scenery you can enjoy while walking is so healing.
Each villa has a different appearance.
It was actually quite fun to look at them.

Ah, and how did I know there were villas up to number 26
before I even saw the full map?

As we walked, new villas kept appearing,
but if you keep walking up that road, the villas eventually stop.
And then you reach a spot where it feels like the private property of this Da Lat hotel comes to an end (or does it?)
And right there, Villa No. 26 was located.
Which is why I thought this might be the very last villa.

Anyway, a drop or two of rain started to fall,
so we decided to relax in our room until dinner.
Just unwinding at our Da Lat accommodation,
listening to the sound of rain in the serene natural surroundings,
felt incredibly healing.
Finally, the moment we'd been waiting for: dinner time!
Time to go enjoy a live band performance and some amazing street food! Let's go!
Apparently, it was all happening by the pool.

When we arrived, the performance was already in full swing!
And there was a whole spread of delicious-looking food... so much to choose from!

While there weren't a huge number of options,
they pretty much had all the essentials covered, haha!

First up, the skewers that immediately caught my eye!

Those grilled skewers were genuinely incredible.
We ordered one of each type, but the beef skewer was particularly delicious.
It didn't taste like typical street food at all, haha!
It was truly amazing.

The rolls next to it... they were just okay, haha.
I mean, they weren't bad,
but the skewers were just *so* good, haha!

You could buy everything with these coupons.
The prices matched the Vietnamese Dong exactly.

We also ordered some more skewers, corn, and roasted sweet potatoes.
The roasted sweet potatoes, well, to be honest, the ones I had at the Da Lat night market last time were so bland,
I wanted to know if it was just Vietnamese sweet potatoes in general that weren't great,
or if it was just the stall I bought them from.
(Actually, seeing them grilled here looked so delicious that I completely forgot how bad the previous ones were...)
so I decided to give them another try.
What was the verdict?
It turns out Vietnamese sweet potatoes just aren't my thing, haha!

As it turned out, the only tables left were right at the front,
so that's where we ended up eating.
Oh, and the live performance...
it was all Vietnamese songs,
and honestly, it wasn't quite my style, haha.
This spot where the event was happening? That's actually the swimming pool,
and in the same building, you'll also find a kids' cafe and a gym!

Though I wanted to soak it all in a bit longer,
I had a spa reservation for the evening,
so it was time to start getting ready to move on.

Dusk was beginning to settle in,

the sky was starting to glow with beautiful hues.

This is the spa entrance I snapped earlier during my walk.

And this is how it transformed once night fell.

First off, the prices and types of massages are as you see above.
It's definitely more expensive than local options, for sure.
While it varies from local spot to local spot,
I'd estimate it felt about three times pricier than local spas, based on my experience.
(compared to another local shop I visited in Da Lat city center)
Writing it out like this makes it sound super expensive, haha!
But you can refer to the price list above for the exact figures.
Still, being a spa within a Da Lat hotel,
it definitely had a luxurious feel.
And the variety of massage types was impressive too.
And when I first lay down on my stomach,
they thoughtfully placed a pillow under my ankles. That small touch makes it surprisingly comfortable!
After my massage, I was so satisfied that
I booked another one for tomorrow before I left!
Oh, and hotel guests get discounts during happy hour!
10% off from 11 AM to 2 PM
20% off from 6 PM to 10 PM.
So basically, it's happy hour for most of the day, except for the late afternoon.
(Isn't happy hour usually the opposite? Hahaha, I guess people love their massages after lunch and in the evening!)
I looked up old reviews, and they used to offer up to 40% off...
now it's only 20% off, sadly. ㅠㅠ
But we can't end the day here, can we!!
Next up, it's off to the bar!

Huh?
Is this really the bar??
Okay, I can overlook the tables,
but why is it so bright... hahaha!
Just to double-check, I asked again if it was indeed the bar,
and they said yes, hahaha!

Hmm.
Yup, it's a bar.

Time to order!
The menu they first handed us didn't actually have any food options.

You have to ask separately for the food menu.
My favorite Belgian Wit beer was available on tap, so I went for that!
(I'm not talking about one specific beer here, but Belgian beers generally
seem to have a lot of those delightful fruity wit ale flavors, which I love – even if I'm no expert!)

Wait, what?
Isn't this a bottle beer, not a draft?
Was there something I was missing...?
So, I asked if it wasn't a draft, but actually a bottled beer,
and they insisted it *was* draft beer...
Hmm...
Draft Beer = 생맥주 (freshly poured from a tap)
Craft Beer = 수제 맥주 (artisanal, small-batch beer)
Or so I thought, hahaha.
If I'd been absolutely sure, I would've pressed the issue more,
but thinking there might be something I just didn't understand,
I just asked once and let it go.
I guess even if I *had* pushed harder,
the "real" draft beer (as I know it) probably wouldn't have magically appeared, haha.
But still, this beer was
three times more expensive than other beers on the menu...
A bit of a letdown, honestly.

Nonetheless, it *was* delicious...
Exactly the kind of beer I love.
So, naturally, I ordered another kind! 😂

For a snack, I ordered this,
It was pretty decent. Not bad at all.

Oh, and by the way, if the bar vibe isn't quite what you're looking for,
you can always grab a seat outside.
At night, the outdoor area has this fantastic atmosphere.
While the bar does have its own distinct space,
ultimately, the cafe, bar, and restaurant are all part of the same wonderful establishment.
And just like that... my first day in Da Lat, a place I came to for some much-needed healing,
ended up feeling surprisingly busy with all sorts of discoveries! 😂

The night view on the way back to our Da Lat accommodation was pretty lovely too.
Day Two.
Time for breakfast!

This is *the* spot for breakfast,
the restaurant,
and even the bar,
our versatile, all-in-one building! 😂

We just barely made it...
arriving right before breakfast wrapped up.
These photos are from our third-day breakfast.
On the second day, I was so late, haha!
I literally just devoured my food without a single photo of the buffet, haha!

I managed to snap just one quick photo of my plate before digging in.

On the third day, I treated myself to a leisurely bowl of pho.
After breakfast, I simply indulged in some well-deserved lounging in my room.
Since we had breakfast so late,
I continued to relax until well past lunchtime.
Next up: a cafe!
I was eager to map out some future blog plans and finally dive into the book I'd brought along.
"Where on earth is that menu photo? I was sure I took one..."
I spent ages searching, haha!
Turns out, it's the exact same menu as the bar from yesterday, hahaha!

I was about to order a regular coffee when I spotted 'Liquor Coffee' on the menu.
I'd tried a similar drink at a Starbucks Reserve in Tokyo once,
and it was unexpectedly delicious, so I decided to go for it again!
It's truly a winning combination:
the invigorating buzz of coffee perfectly paired with the delightful warmth of a little alcohol. Pure bliss!
I pondered which of the three to try...

And then decided to just try *all* of them, hahaha!
Lined them up perfectly for a quick photo.
I took a tentative sip of each, and wow, they were all quite potent!;
The one I remembered from Tokyo's Starbucks Reserve had a truly unique and memorable flavor,
but these... they tasted more like a regular cafe latte with a shot of alcohol, haha.
So, if you ever find yourself ordering a Liquor Coffee here,
definitely, *definitely* go for the third one—the Italian coffee.
It's hands down the best of the bunch, haha!

As I slowly savored each sip...
and finally delved into a book,
I realized this was the very first time I'd truly relaxed and indulged in the 'healing' I'd been dreaming of for so long, haha!
And it only took me until the *final week* of my 3-week adventure, hahaha!
Before I knew it, time had flown by, and I was feeling hungry again...
So, naturally, I decided to order some food right here at the cafe, too, haha!

First up, the appetizer bread!

And then, the pasta I ordered.

And of course, coconut juice!

Oh, and the men's and women's restroom signs?
They're like cool symbols on the door, haha!

Here's the other entrance to the restaurant.
Honestly, this one feels more like the main entrance, right? Haha!
I actually ended up leaving through this one.
This concludes the record of my second day.
Why isn't there any record after this, you ask?
Well, there was a place in Da Lat city center that was SO delicious,
I impulsively decided to go there instead, haha!
Thinking of having dinner at *this* restaurant again, I felt a little... something was missing.
And I needed to have a beer, but doing it at the bar where I was yesterday
(which was also part of this restaurant, haha) felt a bit disappointing again.
So I decided to head out to *that* other place instead!
I had thought about going back there again when I first visited because it was so good,
and well, I ended up going once more, haha!
I had a spa reservation for the evening,
so I moved it to the earliest possible time
(still within happy hour for that sweet discount, of course! haha)
and planned to head out right after the spa finished.
Now, for the third day.
It's checkout day!
I'd tried everything else already
(Oh, wait... I didn't actually *use* the pool or gym, haha. But I did check them out!)

The last thing left was the yoga class!!!!
I hadn't planned on doing it at first,
but then I suddenly decided to go for it, hehe.
The time? 7 AM!!
It's not exactly an easy time to wake up, but if I set my mind to it,
there's no reason I can't go!
Initially, the location was listed as the swimming pool.
However, when I tried to book,
they told me it was actually held in the spa building!
(It's free, but you do need to reserve in advance.)
So, I woke up bright and early and headed straight to the spa building!
But... the door was locked? Haha!
I saw someone in leggings coming from the opposite direction earlier...
should I have followed them...?
Where did they disappear to...?
Ugh, time was running out! ㅠ
Found it.
First, when I tried the main entrance of the spa building, it was locked,
and there was nobody inside.
But since the reception told me it was definitely in the spa building,
I figured there must be an open area around it,
or maybe another building, like an annex.
So I searched around, not the main entrance, and finally found it!
A back entrance? A side door? On a side path, behind the spa building,
there was another building, almost like an annex,
and if you just peek in,

Ta-da!
This is what you'll find inside! Haha.
A little hesitantly, I step inside. LOL.

Five spots were ready,
with the one at the very front reserved for the instructor.
It looked like five people had signed up.
Honestly, I just went thinking it'd be cool to try and write about for the blog,
but it turned out to be absolutely wonderful.
It made me realize, 'Ah, *this* is why people do yoga!'
It felt a bit like a daily class,
and the participants would change each time (oh, not 'students,' but 'guests,' of course!).
I'd expected they'd stick to just basic poses, at most,
but they completely blew that expectation out of the water!
We started with foundational moves and progressed to what I'd call advanced poses
(I mean, any pose I can't do is an advanced one, right? LOL!)
— they covered it all!
And anyone watching could clearly tell I was a beginner, haha.
I diligently followed along with the basic moves,
but when the advanced poses came, I couldn't quite get the positions anymore,
so I was just feigning my way through them.
Then, the instructor came over and helped correct my posture! (Ack!)
The instructor was Vietnamese,
and while her English wasn't perfectly fluent,
she taught the class mixing English and Vietnamese.
She'd speak quite extensively and lengthily in Vietnamese,
but her English instructions were super concise, LOL!
Even so, hearing 'inhale~ exhale~' brought back memories,
and it felt great, haha.
Maybe it was because I hadn't used my body like that in ages,
but after the class, I felt this wonderful sense of fatigue, or rather,
a refreshing lightness,
and a surge of renewed motivation for everything.
It brought me back to a time when I spent two weeks in Bali, Indonesia, years ago,
just focusing on yoga and meditation.
That period kept coming to mind,
and I started thinking about all the different ways I wanted to approach my blog going forward,
ideas just flowing.
Right after this, I headed to breakfast,
but thanks to that sudden burst of motivation,
I was so lost in thought, my mind was already full,
and I barely ate any food! Haha.
Originally, I had so many things I did during my 2-night, 3-day stay here...
and I'd planned to split it into a few different posts.
But as I started writing, I got completely carried away and ended up putting everything into one post! ;;
It felt like I wrote for almost an entire day... LOL.
I wonder if anyone actually read this all the way to the end!
