With travelers from all over the world flocking here, I heard tickets sell out super fast if you wait too long.

So, I made sure to book my tickets on the official website about 3 months before my trip!

When Do Alhambra Tickets Go on Sale? (1 Year in Advance & Extra Releases)

I saw some posts online saying that tickets on the official website

usually open up about 2 to 3 months in advance.

But when I checked the official site myself,

it seems they release tickets in batches at different times!

① 1st Release: 1 Year in Advance

The screenshot below is the official website page I accessed in late March 2026.

Believe it or not, a whole year's worth of dates all the way up to March 2027 were open and marked in green (Available)!

If you've booked your flights and confirmed your Granada itinerary,

I highly recommend securing a prime time slot for the Nasrid Palaces early!

② 2nd & 3rd Releases: 3 Months / 1 Month Before Visit

Word on the street is that final ticket batches are released 3 months and 1 month before the booking month.

For example, if you plan to visit in May,

additional tickets will likely drop in February and April.

On the left is the May calendar when I booked my ticket back in February,

and on the right is the same May calendar when I checked again in late March.

In just a single month, tickets for early May were completely sold out on the official site! 😱

Choosing Your Nasrid Palaces Entry Time (Morning vs. Afternoon)

Once you pick a date, a timetable will pop up.

But keep in mind, this is not the entry time for the entire Alhambra complex—

To beat the crowds and save your energy,

most seasoned travelers highly recommend opting for the cooler morning slots.

💡Crucial Tip When Booking an Alhambra Palace Guided Tour💡

There's a very important reason why

your Nasrid Palaces entry time matters so much when booking tickets.

If you look at the popular Alhambra guided tours,

 they often require you to personally purchase your Alhambra ticket

with a specific Nasrid Palaces entry time before signing up.

I really wanted to book a guided tour, but our tight travel itinerary

didn't leave us with enough time, so we had to pass.

Our plan is to fly from Mallorca to Granada

around lunchtime on Vueling Airlines.

Since we're only staying in Granada for one night

before heading out early the next morning to Seville,

our stop in Granada is basically just to squeeze in the Alhambra.

(Totally wishing we had added one more night here! 😭)

Anyway, taking into account potential Vueling delays, getting into the city, and checking into our hotel,

a morning slot was out of the question.

To avoid any stressful rushing, we happily locked in a 6:00 PM entry ticket!

If our Granada schedule had been a bit more relaxed,

we would have snagged a morning ticket and joined a guided tour. Such a bummer!   

They say they are absolutely strict about the Nasrid Palaces entry time;

if you're even a minute late, they will deny you entry.

The best strategy is to arrive at least an hour before your selected slot

and explore the other areas of the complex first! ✔️

Even if tickets are completely sold out on the official website,

travel booking platforms often have pre-secured tickets still available!
