Yoon's Kitchen Hoi An Review 2026: Best Korean BBQ
Craving authentic Korean comfort food in Vietnam? Here is our honest 2026 review of Yoon's Kitchen in Hoi An, the ultimate spot for Korean BBQ and spicy stews.
After spending a few days in Da Nang and eating nothing but local Vietnamese dishes, I suddenly found myself craving a piping-hot, comforting bowl of spicy Korean stew.
That is how I ended up at Yoon's Kitchen, a spot that constantly pops up whenever anyone searches for the best Korean food in Hoi An. Since I was traveling solo, I felt a little self-conscious walking in alone, but this place is absolutely perfect for families and groups. The owner is Korean, so communication and ordering were completely seamless and stress-free.

Location & Access

Yoon's Kitchen is located on the western edge of Hoi An Old Town, just about a 10-minute walk (approx. 0.5 miles) from the bustling Night Market. When you search for decent Korean dining options in the immediate Hoi An area, there really aren't many choices, making this place the undisputed go-to spot.

Hoi An attracts a massive number of international tour groups and families. Because traveling with kids or elderly relatives often requires a familiar comfort meal, almost everyone looking for authentic Korean flavors ends up here. Thanks to its popularity, the restaurant is always lively, bustling, and highly energetic.

Reservations are not accepted, so you will be guided to available tables on either the first or second floor upon arrival. While there are outdoor patio tables, they are generally too hot and busy with street traffic, so most guests prefer the air-conditioned indoor seating. I only saw one person dining outside—a solo traveler who had set up a massive tripod to livestream a mukbang, which was quite a fascinating sight to watch!
The Menu

Let's take a look at the menu. From 4:30 PM onwards, they offer specialized wood-fired oven dishes, including grilled mackerel, red snapper, butter-grilled shrimp, and giant tiger prawns with melted cheese. However, the main reason most people flock here is the meat. It's an incredibly convenient spot to enjoy classic Korean pork belly (samgyeopsal) and spicy stir-fried chicken (dakgalbi).

They also serve a wide variety of stews, ssam-bap (rice wraps), ramen, and even milmyeon (Busan-style cold wheat noodles), which was a pleasant surprise! There are plenty of fried rice options as well, meaning you won't run out of choices.

There is also an extensive list of side dishes to pair with drinks. Note that there is a one-dish-per-person minimum. Additionally, table reservations are not allowed, and corkage fees apply: ~$8 (200,000 VND) per bottle of wine, and ~$20 (500,000 VND) per bottle of hard liquor.
When dining in Vietnam, it is always a good idea to check beforehand whether VAT is included in the listed menu prices.

The tables are set with lovely illustrated paper placemats. For those wondering, this restaurant doesn't seem to have any official connection to the famous Korean variety show "Youn's Kitchen," which was filmed near Bali. It seems the owners were inspired by the show's warm, cozy aesthetic when naming and designing the restaurant.

With over 90% of the clientele being Korean, the atmosphere makes you feel like you've been transported straight to Seoul! But as long as the food is delicious, that's all that matters.
The complimentary banchan (side dishes) include standard cabbage kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi (gat-kimchi), pickled cabbage, and seasoned perilla leaves.

Curious about how they prepare the wood-fired dishes, I peeked outside and found the staff working hard over an open-air grilling station.

To my surprise, the kimchi here was outstanding—arguably better than what you get at many restaurants back in Korea! Having the sharp, tangy mustard leaf kimchi after so long was incredibly satisfying.

The side dishes easily passed the test. Often, Korean restaurants abroad suffer because they have to source local ingredients that change the texture or alter the spices to suit local palates. However, Yoon's Kitchen manages to capture the exact, authentic flavor profiles you'd expect in Korea.

The portion of Kimchi Jjigae (Kimchi Stew) was massive. The bowl was almost too large for a single diner, but I eagerly took my first spoonful of the steaming red broth.

Having tried three or four different Korean restaurants across Da Nang and Hoi An, I found that most of their stews taste quite similar. If you've ever lived alone and relied on high-quality, pre-packaged meal kits or premium frozen stews from a Korean grocery store, it tasted exactly like that. It's simple, reliable comfort food—nothing overly gourmet, but deeply satisfying.

Still, being able to enjoy this level of authentic flavor and quality side dishes while traveling in Vietnam is something to be grateful for. It was the perfect culinary reset after days of indulging in rich, savory Vietnamese street food.
There's a reason this spot is constantly packed. Looking at genuine, non-sponsored reviews online, other travelers have had fantastic experiences here as well. If you are visiting with a group of two or more, ordering their signature wood-fired BBQ or meat dishes is highly recommended.

If you are looking for a reliable, delicious Korean meal in Hoi An Old Town, Yoon's Kitchen is your best bet. Given the lack of other solid Korean options nearby, you can head straight here without hesitation!
