1. Hoi An Cooking Class Overview
Has anyone traveled to Vietnam during the rainy season?
Well, I have! Lol.
Da Nang, located in Central Vietnam, experiences its rainy season from September to December.
I spontaneously booked a trip to Da Nang last October, and boy, was it rainy! 😭
It poured cats and dogs throughout our entire trip.
While searching for indoor activities in Da Nang and Hoi An during the rainy season, I stumbled upon the Hoi An Cooking Class.
The Hoi An Cooking Class offers a chance to:
▷ Directly prepare Vietnamese dishes
▷ Enjoy the food you've cooked
I'm not particularly interested in cooking and don't usually enjoy it, but with the rain, there wasn't much else to do. So, I urgently booked it early that morning.
To give you a heads-up:
It was much more fun than I expected,
and my mom, who came with me, was also very satisfied.
The price was around ~$11 for children and ~$19 for adults, which is incredibly reasonable considering it includes a full meal.

2. My Cooking Class Experience

A driver picks you up at the reserved time.

Upon arrival at the cooking class, you're given an apron and a sanitary hairnet!
My clothes were already green, and the apron and hat were also green, haha!

First, we made the sauce.
If you're struggling or slow, the instructors are there to help, so there's no need to worry if you're not a great cook.

Throughout the cooking process, they also share the recipes, so you can recreate these delicious dishes back home.

Spring rolls, complete!

We also made Banh Xeo.
The Banh Xeo was incredibly delicious!!

And we made Pho too!
Pho was surprisingly easy and simple to make, haha.
After cooking everything, you get to eat the dishes you prepared.
🔥Since you'll be eating the food you make, I highly recommend going on an empty stomach!!🔥
Drinks are available for individual purchase during your meal. I enjoyed mine with a Coke (don't remember the price, though!).

After finishing our meal, they even served us mango for dessert.
Delicious mango!

This is the peeler I received after the experience!
Honestly, I haven't really used it since.
After the tour, they offered a complimentary ride back to our Hoi An hotel.
Since we needed to go back to Da Nang, we paid an extra fee for a comfortable ride there.
