Yantai Airport is surprisingly far from the city center...
Just like other city hotels,
Brai Radiance Hotel Yantai takes about an hour by taxi from the airport.

As soon as we got out of the taxi,
a bellboy came over, took our luggage,
and accompanied us to the check-in counter.

They say Zootopia 2 was a huge sensation in China, and it truly was!
The Christmas tree was decorated with Zootopia characters,
and our child got very excited.

At the entrance, there were Yantai's local specialty — apples —
and various snacks made with apples for sale.
If you don't have time to venture far, buying them at the hotel would be a great idea!
Behind this sales counter, there's a lounge area.

Even near the check-in counter,
there are plenty of seats available.
Check-in: After 14:00
Check-out: Before 12:00

As expected, the counter was also taken over by Zootopia characters!
Unlike most other hotels,
Brai Radiance Yantai is cool enough to not require a separate deposit.

To the left of the counter, there was also a space for enjoying a tea ceremony.
If you add the check-in staff as a WeChat friend,
they offer a service that provides various information, just like a butler.
(When booking accommodation through Trip.com, there was a package that included free late-night snacks,
like noodles or warm milk, but we were always too full to actually eat them...🤣
+ You can also get seagull feed)

During check-in, they generously provided us with plenty of bottled water,
and there was tea, candy, and other treats available.

Judging by the many positive reviews on Trip.com and other travel platforms,
it's no surprise they've received so many awards...
They even have portable phone chargers available for rent.

After checking in, head towards the center of the lobby
to catch the elevators.

Look at this little robot scurrying around!
It's busy delivering 24/7.
* Tip: If you're ordering delivery, make sure to include your room number in the address,
and the concierge will send it right to your door via robot!

There are three of these little helpers in total.
While the hotel has been around for a bit, and the elevators are a tad on the smaller side,
you won't have to wait long to use them!

A quick guide to each floor.
The breakfast restaurant is on the 2nd floor,
and the gym and swimming pool are located on the 22nd floor.

To the left and right, you'll find
City View/Sea View rooms.
And get this – in the middle of the hallway, they've generously placed even more water,
so you can easily grab more if you need it!

We were assigned Room 1103!
Initially, we considered a room with bunk beds,
but we felt it might take away from the 'hotel' vibe,
so we opted for the Family Sea View Room instead.
Family Sea View Room
Family Sea View Room 42㎡

With both a single and a double bed,
this Family Sea View Room can comfortably accommodate 3 adults and 1 child!

First off, at 42 square meters, there's plenty of space to spread out.
And the bedding? Super clean and comfy!

They even offer a menu of about 7 additional pillows, so if you're particular about your sleep, feel free to ask the concierge!

The main reason I chose this hotel was to fully immerse myself in the ocean view right from my bed, and it absolutely hit the mark!
One side of the window could be opened, which was fantastic for fresh air and ventilation.

Near the entrance, you'll find buttons to control the bathroom's upper and lower lights, hallway lights, and even signals for room cleaning or checkout.
The heater also worked perfectly, keeping the room wonderfully warm without ever feeling stuffy – it was just right!

On both sides of the bed, you'll find various light control buttons, including a convenient master switch.
✅️ Your 220V adapters (like those used in Korea) are also compatible here!

The television primarily offered Chinese channels, but there were also a few international movie channels, making for a pretty diverse selection overall!
They offered both reusable and disposable slippers, and thoughtfully provided fresh disposable ones on the second day.

You'll find complimentary water and snacks (4 of each, adjusted for the number of guests), Yantai apple juice (2 pouches provided daily), and a special Christmas apple, all free of charge...!
And let me tell you, this apple wasn't just the best I had in Yantai; it was honestly the most delicious apple I've ever tasted in my entire life... truly a gem!

Even the warm handwritten note was incredibly touching~

The mini-fridge, along with a kettle, mug cups, and an ice bucket, are all conveniently located on the shelf below the TV.

Do note that orange juice and other beverages in the mini-fridge are chargeable.
What's really unique is the presence of a sterilization machine, ensuring that items like glass cups are thoroughly disinfected. This is a fantastic feature for anyone who's particular about cleanliness!

A great table space, perfect even for getting some work done.
It seems like this might have been a Spongebob-themed room originally!
And guess what? Even behind the table, it's an ocean view!

On the shelf, you'll find various internet cables and
ports ready for your charging cables.
The Bathroom

With a washbasin, bathtub, toilet, and shower all in one,
this bathroom is quite spacious.

The large bathtub by the window was absolutely perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring,
and you can draw an interior curtain for privacy.
The curtain button is conveniently located by the mirror.
But if you leave the curtain open, you can soak in the tub while enjoying that stunning ocean view! What a treat!

And here's a thoughtful touch:
to ensure you can enjoy your bath in the hotel tub feeling completely fresh,
they provide a disposable bathtub cover liner!
You just cover the tub with the liner and secure it with the sticker.
They even refilled it daily when I used it!

A generously sized washbasin area.
You'll find hand towels and medium-sized towels here.

Amenities like a dental kit, comb, razor, cotton swabs, nail trimmer, and hair net are all provided,
and in addition to body lotion, they even include hand-washing detergent! How handy is that!
At first, I thought it was mouthwash, but definitely don't put it in your mouth! Haha!

The toilet area comes stocked with alcohol swabs and extra toilet paper,

and facing it, separated by a door, is the shower area.
The amenities, with their delightful CAPRI ORANGE scent,
were so refreshing to use.
While the water stains weren't completely gone,
for a hotel of this age and value, it was definitely acceptable.

The shower features both a rain showerhead and a standard handheld option,
and I appreciated the thoughtful details like the handles, anti-slip features, and drainage grooves.
Still, since it's marble, always be careful on wet floors.

Behind the hinged door and mirror,
the wardrobe holds bathrobes, various hangers, and
plenty of space for your belongings.

Laundry service is also available for a fee.

Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.
However, even though it was a non-smoking room, I could smell cigarette smoke if someone was secretly smoking in a nearby room.
Luckily, since it's by the sea, opening just one window ventilated the room really well, so I tolerated it,
and the next day, it seemed that person had checked out, and the air was clean again.
This isn't an issue exclusive to this hotel,
so if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, it might be a good idea to mention it at the front desk again.

Feeling great about the thoughtful amenities and service,
and while it's a bit far from the main tourist spots,
it's super easy to get around quickly with the incredibly affordable Didi taxis and buses.
