As I was preparing for my Tokyo trip,
And choosing a hotel,
What actually gave me more thought than I expected was
Exactly where
To stay.
While popular tourist areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya are fantastic,
This time, I was searching for a spot close to Tokyo Station but
Not too bustling,
And that's how I ended up booking Yaesu Midori Tokyo!
The main reasons I chose this hotel were
Its fantastic accessibility to Tokyo Station,
The Japanese garden located within the hotel,
And, of course, the breakfast!
What really caught my eye in the photos was
The 14th-floor rooftop garden –
It looked even prettier than I expected!
It instantly made me think, 'I definitely want to stay here at least once!'
After actually staying there,
The room was more spacious than I imagined,
And the breakfast was incredibly satisfying,
So for anyone looking for a hotel near Tokyo Station,
This is definitely a place I'd love to recommend!

The Hotel
Just how close is it to Tokyo Station?
Hotel Yaesu Midori Tokyo is located
In Hatchobori, Chuo-ku, Tokyo,
Approximately a 12-minute walk from Tokyo Station's Yaesu Central Exit.
From Hatchobori Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line,
It's about a 3-minute walk.
I personally walked to the hotel
From Tokyo Station,
And the path wasn't complicated; you just follow Yaesu-dori straight,
So it was easier than I expected.
If you're dreaming of staying around Tokyo Station
But prefer to avoid overly crowded areas,
Then you might find this location
Quite appealing.
What's more, it's incredibly convenient not only for exploring the Tokyo Station area
But also for easily getting to Ginza or Nihonbashi.
When you're traveling, it's pretty important, isn't it,
Whether there's a convenience store
Near the hotel.
Right in front of the hotel,
and just a 2-minute walk away, you'll find two convenience stores
and a fantastic drugstore!
This made it incredibly convenient to pick up simple drinks, snacks, unique gifts,
or any essentials you might need during your journey.
It truly made things effortless!
Even when returning to the hotel late after a day of exploration,
grabbing a quick bite to eat
or picking up any last-minute necessities
was never an inconvenience at all.
You'll ascend from the ground floor,
and check in at the stunning 14th-floor lobby.
It's not a direct route to your room floor upon arrival;
instead, you're welcomed at the elegant 14th-floor lobby for check-in.
Initially, I must admit,
I pondered, 'Why check in all the way up on the 14th floor?'
But the moment I stepped out, the reason became absolutely crystal clear!
The 14th floor boasts an expansive, unobstructed view that far surpasses
what you'd find at a typical hotel front desk, creating a truly unforgettable first impression.
Check-in is at 2:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.

When you're heading to your room,
you'll always disembark at the 14th floor
and catch another elevator to your specific floor.
However, when descending from your room to the ground floor (1st floor),
you can enjoy a direct ride down!
The absolute biggest reason I chose this magnificent hotel?
The Rooftop Japanese Garden!
To be honest, this was the place I was most excited to see, even more so than the room itself.
It's the incredible 14th-floor
rooftop garden, and I found it quite surprising and delightful to discover a traditional Japanese garden
nestled within a hotel right in the heart of bustling Tokyo!
Upon actually ascending to it,
I found it to be a charming, albeit small, garden,
but the atmosphere was simply enchanting and beautifully crafted.
Even though this hotel is situated in the bustling city center,
the harmonious blend of trees, tranquil water features, and authentic Japanese decorations
created a truly serene escape,
making it perfect for a moment of quiet contemplation and relaxation.
When you're adventuring through Tokyo,
you often spend the entire day exploring crowded, vibrant
tourist attractions.
So, returning to the hotel
and being able to immerse myself in such a soothing, healing space, even for a brief moment,
was far more delightful than I had anticipated.
It's no exaggeration to say that I truly
chose this hotel specifically for this magnificent garden!
It was before the Christmas season, so
they even had a Christmas tree up!
I took a moment to explore and conveniently dropped off my luggage.
The bathroom was another part I really liked.
It featured a combined shower and bathtub area,
with the vanity cleverly separated
outside.
What I loved most was that the bathtub was much deeper and
wider than I anticipated!
Sometimes Japanese hotel bathtubs can be a bit short,
making it tough to truly stretch out,
but the one in my
room was perfectly spacious and comfortable!
Plus, the toilet was completely separate from the main bathroom area,
which is always a thoughtful touch and super convenient
when traveling with others!
The room itself was surprisingly spacious!
For those who've experienced
Japanese hotels multiple times,
you know that room size
can sometimes be a bit of a concern.
But this particular room
exceeded my expectations with its generous space,
leaving me thoroughly satisfied.
The space around the bed felt open and comfortable, not at all cramped,
and there was ample room to unpack and organize my belongings.
It definitely felt like a place I could happily settle into
for several days!
Having hangers and a full-length
mirror was a thoughtful touch,
making it super easy to check my outfit
before stepping out to explore!
Tea cups were provided,
along with a TV
where we could check room information.
Overall,
rather than a lavish feel,
it was closer to the clean and serene
ambiance of a Japanese hotel.
The moment we'd been waiting for: breakfast!!
It was truly a place where breakfast was highly anticipated.
Breakfast Hours: 07:00-10:30
As you step into the restaurant on the 1st floor,
the atmosphere is lovely.
You can choose between Western and Japanese cuisine.
From inside, you can see the view outside through the large windows.
It's a building view, though.
There were plum pickles
and rice available.
Milk and other beverages
were available for unlimited refills.
There was also cereal.
The staff asked me what I wanted to eat,
and brought it to me.
I decided to try the Japanese breakfast.
I've been to Japan so many times, but
this was my first time trying
Red Snapper Ochazuke!
The sauce was a sesame miso sauce,
and it was so nutty and fragrant.
The red snapper wasn't fishy at all!
There were even instructions on how to eat it,
The rolled omelet,
fish cake, and grilled fish were all delicious,
and I heartily enjoyed everything, right down to dessert!
It was so neat and tidy,
the portion size was just right,
and I wanted to eat it again!
Breakfast is ~$15 if paid separately.
🤔 Things to Know Before Booking
It's not a hotel
directly in front of Tokyo Station,
so if you dislike walking from the station to the hotel,
it might feel a bit far.
However,
you can walk from Tokyo Station in about 12 minutes,
and if you use the subway,
it's only about 3 minutes from Hatchobori Station.
So, getting around
isn't a major inconvenience.
While there isn't a large public bath,
I still loved the room size,
the cleanliness,
and the garden breakfast. It was a place I truly adored!
