Just imagining the moment you see this massive mountain

right in front of your eyes brings a rush of excitement.

But to get a proper view of Mt. Fuji,

you usually have to travel to nearby cities like Shizuoka,

and the round-trip transportation costs can be quite a burden.

Today, I'm excited to share details about a Tokyo-to-Mt. Fuji tour

that lets you see the sights without breaking the bank,

along with my honest review of the experience!

First, I've put together a quick breakdown of the

tour itinerary and route in the table below.

The tour takes you to the top scenic spots

in Yamanashi Prefecture, located just north of Mt. Fuji.

While Mt. Fuji is visible from many places,

the truly iconic viewpoints are quite specific.

Plus, public transport to these spots can be sparse,

so trying to visit all of them in a single day on your own

is incredibly difficult without renting a car.

That's why taking a tour is the best way to fit

all these amazing stops into a compact, single day.

Now, let me share my experience and review of the tour!

I booked the pickup at Shinjuku Mode Gakuen,

and there was already a huge crowd waiting in front of the building.

Since tours in various languages (English, Chinese, Korean, etc.)

all gather here, just look for the specific flag

guided by your tour operator to check in.

Once your name is checked off, you'll be guided

to the bus where you can sit back and get ready!

After about a two-hour drive, we arrived in Yamanashi.

Catching my first glimpse of Mt. Fuji through the bus window

really made my heart skip a beat!

📍 Our first stop was the famous Lawson convenience store in Kawaguchiko,

world-renowned for the surreal view of Mt. Fuji towering directly behind it.

We got incredibly lucky with a perfectly clear sky,

making the contrast between the store and the mountain absolutely stunning.

Also, if you walk down the road to the right of the convenience store,

you get an unobstructed view of the mountain's base,

leaving you absolutely awestruck by its sheer scale.

(Trust me, it looks so much bigger in person.)

📍 After that, we headed to our second stop: the lunch spot.

Since the guide had taken our orders in advance, the food was already waiting for us at this group-friendly restaurant.

To be honest, the quality of the food wasn't amazing,

but since there aren't many other places to eat nearby,

I highly recommend just going with the cheapest menu option!

📍 Our third destination was Oishi Park.

This is a stunning spot where you can capture Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji together in one frame,

and it's especially famous for its beautiful seasonal flowers.

Since I visited during winter, there weren't any flowers in bloom,

but if you visit around this time of year, they should be starting to blossom,

offering a gorgeous view of the flowers framing Mount Fuji!

Oishi Park also has a souvenir shop where you can

browse through tons of cute Mount Fuji-themed goodies.

However, since our final stop, Oshino Hakkai, features a much larger shopping area,

I'd recommend saving your major souvenir shopping for the very end of the tour!

📍 The fourth stop of the day was Arakurayama Sengen Park,

famous for its iconic view of the pagoda, shrine, and Mount Fuji.

To reach the park's main observation deck,

you'll need to climb up a steep set of stairs for about 5 minutes straight without stopping.

Your lungs might burn a bit, but once you make it to the top,

the view is absolutely breathtaking—so it's 100% worth the climb!

📍 Our fifth stop was the famous Hikawa Clock Shop,

located about a 10-minute walk from Sengen Park.

While the landmark itself is named Hikawa Clock Shop, it's actually

best known as a spot along a wonderfully retro shopping street.

Doesn't it look like a scene straight out of an anime?

Just a heads-up: even if you walk all the way up this street,

there are very few other spots where you can frame the retro street and Mount Fuji together so perfectly.

So, make sure to snap your postcard-perfect photo right here!

📍 Our final stop was Oshino Hakkai,

a charming village famous for its crystal-clear spring ponds

fed by Mount Fuji’s melting snow.

The water is so incredibly clear and pure that

just looking into it feels completely magical.

While Oshino Hakkai is also a prime Mount Fuji viewing spot,

we visited when the backlight was at its strongest, so the mountain

didn't show up in my photos at all, which was a bit of a bummer.

You’ll get almost a full hour of

free time at Oshino Hakkai.

This is the perfect window to squeeze in some souvenir shopping!

At the very back of the shopping street, there's a massive souvenir shop,

offering a wide range of Mt. Fuji beers, highballs, local sake, and unique merch,

so it’s incredibly fun to browse around!

This Mt. Fuji day tour was the perfect escape from Tokyo's concrete jungle,

allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in majestic nature.

Plus, it costs less than standard round-trip transit

while letting you easily check off multiple bucket-list spots,

making it an incredibly satisfying, high-value experience.

They say there's only about a 1-in-3 chance of getting a clear view of Mt. Fuji.

And the odds are generally much higher during the winter months.

As summer approaches, the iconic peak gets harder to spot,
