I kept telling myself I'd write this up right after my Tokyo trip,
but here is my long-overdue food guide!
Just a heads-up: it was a trip for two girls,
and we're both pretty light eaters, so keep that in mind! haha
(But we absolutely love trendy spots! lol)
Meat Man (미트맨) - Yakitori Hotspot

Sun–Thu: 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Fri–Sat: 5:00 PM – 4:00 AM
*Highly recommend calling ahead to make a reservation
*Just a 1-minute walk from Roppongi Station, Exit 6
📍 Meat Man
Japan 〒106-0032 Tokyo, Minato City, Roppongi, 4 Chome−8−8 Ishibashi Bldg. 1F
As luck would have it, after booking,
we realized it was only a 5-minute walk from our Tokyo Tower-view hotel!
So we got to rest up at the hotel after a shopping spree
before heading out for dinner.
It was so close and incredibly convenient!
Check out our hotel info here 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

We made our reservation over the phone beforehand
and arrived right at 5:00 PM when they opened.
Thanks to that, we snagged prime seats right in the middle of the bar counter!
Since we reserved ahead, they had this adorable little name card waiting for us.
So cute! haha
If you scan the QR code, there's an English menu available too!

The staff also brought over a platter of fresh skewers to show us,
so you can easily point and order what catches your eye!

For the appetizer, they served what tasted like a cold tomato soup.
And the potato salad might look simple,
but oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious!!
We also ordered their signature drink,
the famous fruit champagne!
When we went, it was Shine Muscat grape season.
To be honest, people probably order this more for the presentation
and the Instagram-worthy photo op
rather than it being the most mind-blowing drink ever.
We fell into both categories, so we went for it—
and it actually turned out to be sweet, refreshing, and super satisfying!
Total win.

Personally, I think the strawberry version looks a bit prettier,
but the Shine Muscat isn't a bad looker either, right? haha

Overall, the seasoning leans a bit on the saltier side,
but literally every single thing we ordered was incredible.
You absolutely MUST try the cabbage-bacon-cheese roll skewer! Seriously!!
It's insanely good.
We thought, "How good can cabbage actually taste?"
But the moment we took a bite, our eyes went wide!
Haha, it's our absolute top recommendation.
This is 100% on my list of places
to revisit next time I'm in Tokyo.
Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho (Marunouchi Building) - Eel Rice Bowl
by_2jay
Open Daily: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Break Time: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
We just walked in
right at opening time.
📍 Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho (Marunouchi Building Branch)
Japan 〒100-6306 Tokyo, Chiyoda City, Marunouchi, 2 Chome-4-1 Marunouchi Building, 6F

We ordered the 0.75-portion size.
Honestly, it felt like more than enough for us girls!

The eel portion is super generous,
and there's a lot of rice underneath! haha

Pour the green tea over the rice and top it with a piece of eel—
it's so clean, comforting, and absolutely delicious!
Since I'm already a huge fan of unagi (eel),
I enjoyed every single bite.
Shabuzen Shibuya - Sukiyaki Hotspot
by_2jay
5:00 PM ~ 11:30 PM
Reservations available on their official website
We booked in advance before visiting!
📍 Shabuzen Shibuya
B1, Shibuya Creston Hotel, 10-8 Kamiyamacho, Shibuya City, Tokyo 150-0047, Japan
About a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station
It's located on the B1 floor of the Creston Hotel.

Just head down these stairs on the side.
We actually walked right past it at first!

I was craving an ice-cold beer so badly,
but had to settle for a non-alcoholic one due to feeling under the weather...

I thought I took a photo of the menu, but I guess I didn't T_T
Since both of us have pretty small appetites,
we skipped the all-you-can-eat option and ordered the "One Plate Course,"
which I believe was around 6,000 yen per person (~$38).

I really wanted to enjoy it to the fullest, but...
I wasn't feeling great even before the trip,
and with our first day's itinerary being so packed,
my condition took a turn for the worse by dinner time.
I barely managed to eat anything, sadly... ㅠㅠ
My friend loved it and ate well, though!
If I had been in better shape, I'm sure I would've devoured it.
In the end, I had to leave most of it behind. ㅠㅠ
HARBS - Mille Crepe Heaven
By_2jay
11:00 AM ~ 9:00 PM
📍 HARBS Lumine Est Shinjuku
B2F, Lumine Est Shinjuku, 3 Chome-38-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0022, Japan
My friend insisted we absolutely had to visit this place
ever since we started planning our trip,
but to be honest, I've never been much of a cake person...

I didn't even take a photo of the storefront...
We just grabbed a single slice of their signature Mille Crepe and left,

but it turned out my friend bought it
as a substitute birthday cake since it was my birthday week... so sweet! ㅠㅠ

I really took my first bite without expecting much,
but oh my goodness... it instantly became the best crepe cake of my life!
You can actually taste chunks of real, fresh fruit inside,
and the cream is incredibly light, clean, and not overly sweet at all.
It's seriously, absolutely heavenly.
Truly a life-changing crepe spot! haha
Sasa Shigure - Sushi Hotspot
By_2jay
Lunch / Daily: 11:00 AM ~ 10:30 PM
We dropped by as a walk-in during the afternoon,
so we got a table without any major wait.

Since our plan was to go shopping in Omotesando,
we wanted to grab a quick, delicious lunch first
before walking around!

Since my friend can't eat raw sushi,
they ordered some maki rolls,
while I—having craved sushi since the moment I landed—
got exactly what I wanted! haha

If you scan the QR code at the table,
they have English menus available,
which made ordering super easy!
It felt just a tiny bit lacking to call it a legendary spot, but...
If you're a sushi lover,
this is a fantastic spot to pop in for a light, casual bite!
Meat Man's recommended menu items are the cabbage, bacon, and cheese roll skewers and the highly photogenic fruit champagne. It is recommended to make a reservation by phone before visiting. You can also access a Korean menu by scanning a QR code.
It is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a break time from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. For women, ordering a 0.75 portion provides a generous and satisfying amount of eel and rice.
Shabuzen Shibuya is located on the B1 floor of the Creston Hotel, a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. If you order the one-plate course instead of the all-you-can-eat option, you can dine for around 6,000 yen per person.
The signature menu item at HARBS Lumine Est Shinjuku is the mille-crepes, which features whole chunks of fruit and a mildly sweet taste. Business hours are from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
