This summer, while looking for a place to go swimming with my child, we visited Woongjin Play City in Bucheon.
I was looking for somewhere not too far from home where we could play to our heart's content for more than half a day,
and Woongjin Play City turned out to be just the spot!
Based on our honest experience there,
I'll lay out our route for using the water park with a child, along with what you need to prepare.
Since it was crowded on the weekend, we ended up parking in Parking Lot 3.

As it's a sports and culture center building, the ticket office, lockers, and convenience facilities are all gathered indoors, so even first-timers won't have much trouble finding their way.
There was a convenience store on the way.
I hadn't managed to prepare sunscreen, so I bought some there.
I bought a sun stick, and it worked wonderfully.
Our Actual Route
After parking and entering the building, you'll first see the ticket office and self-service lockers.
The self-service lockers are free to use, but they are self-managed after closing hours,
and there's a notice about the risk of losing items. So, I recommend storing valuables in separate paid lockers.
Restrooms were conveniently located throughout, which was nice.

It's truly vast, so it's easier to navigate with the map.
After changing and entering the water park, you'll see everything from the lazy river to the slide areas at a glance.
My child is a bit scared of water, so we didn't try the big wave pool right away.
Instead, they loved playing in the lazy river.
There was a separate area near the entrance for inflating and deflating tubes, which was really convenient.

My husband and I only rented life jackets, and since our children are a bit older,
we considered a sunbed but decided against it.
We left our bags here, did 2-3 loops in the lazy river,
and then everyone explored the water playground too.
Even so, my child still enjoyed going down the small slides.
Once I saw them, I wanted to try the rides too, so my husband and I went on a few!
My husband went on the Space Pool Slide and the Rainbow Slide,
and I rode the Zebra Slide – it was so much fun!
My husband said the Space Pool Slide felt like it went slowly before a sudden drop.
There was also a kids' slide for children.
Though it seemed like you'd need to be over 100cm tall to use it.
They also have an indoor swimming pool like this.
After playing to our hearts' content with the kids in the lazy river and water playground, we headed for lunch.
The bubble party event typically starts around 3 PM, so I planned to eat and then go straight there.
Lunch Menu
We had lunch at the food court inside Woongjin Play City.
We ordered two servings of Tonkatsu. A warm soup would have been nice, but we both really wanted a lot of meat,
so we ordered two Tonkatsu dishes from the menu.
If you're not looking for a full meal like this for lunch,
they also had a variety of snacks for sale.
After eating, we moved to the Play Spa Zone indoors.
This area had a ball pit, shallow mini-pools, and shooting games, making it feel much more comfortable for younger children to play.
Even my child, who usually fears water, played here for a long time.
And while Woongjin Play City mentioned the event was at 3 PM, the bubble party actually started a little after 3 PM?
After a short bubble party, we headed to the hot spring spa, which connects directly to this area.
Hot Spring Spa
In the hot spring spa zone,
soaking and relaxing with my child really helped soothe our bodies, tired from playing since the morning.
Being here, I honestly didn't want to go anywhere else!
It was pure healing, but since the kids needed to be entertained and we'd come all this way, I wanted to explore everything, so we checked out the sauna too.
I didn't get a chance to go into the sauna-like area next to it.
I snapped a picture, thinking, 'Wow, they even have something like this!'
Outdoor Pools
The outdoor pool area was surprisingly large, with a spa zone and even food options!
Once you head outside, you'll find several different water playgrounds, and we chose to explore about two of them.
My kids usually get a bit timid at water playgrounds, but strangely enough, they absolutely loved it here! Haha!
This was their absolute favorite ride!
If you have little ones who are a bit timid around water, this is a fantastic spot for them to take on a fun challenge!
We skipped the zones with intense slides and powerful fountains because my child found them a bit intimidating, and instead focused on the areas where the water was calmer and more gentle.
There was even a fruit spa zone, which sounded delightful, but I didn't get to experience it myself as I was busy keeping an eye on the little ones!
We enjoyed some drinks and snacks from the snack bar, sharing happy moments with my child.
My husband and I even managed to take turns relaxing a bit to ease our shoulders – a welcome break!
While Woongjin Playdoci boasted a fantastic wave pool, with our young children, we decided to explore other options.
We chose a route that included the Lazy River, Play Spa Zone, a meal break, the Hot Spring Spa, and parts of the outdoor water playgrounds.
Before we knew it, more than half the day had happily flown by!
What to Pack
Swimsuits or rashguards, goggles, and towels are absolute essentials to pack.
Aqua shoes are permitted and highly recommended for comfortable exploring.
While a swim cap isn't strictly required, definitely bring a regular hat for sun protection and hygiene!
Tubes and life jackets are optional, but bringing your own is a fantastic idea for extra fun and peace of mind.
However, good news! PET bottled drinks, peeled fruits, and baby food (like purees or formula) are generally allowed.
You'll feel much more comfortable if you pack plenty of towels.
We mistakenly assumed towels would be provided and didn't bring any – learn from our mistake and pack them, please! You'll thank yourself later. ㅠㅠ
On summer weekends during peak season, it can get quite busy, so arriving right when they open could be a savvy strategy to beat the crowds!
My Takeaway from Woongjin Playdoci
It was a day filled with endless fun, playing to our hearts' content for well over half a day!
One of the absolute best aspects was the incredible variety of zones, allowing us to perfectly tailor our experience to my child's preferences!
Even kids who are a bit wary of water can comfortably splash around in the lazy river and the indoor play spa zone,
And for the adults, the hot spring spa offered a wonderful separate sanctuary to unwind and recharge.
With such a spacious indoor area unaffected by the weather, I realized it would be an equally fantastic destination even in the depths of winter!
As for a minor drawback, well, my child is still a little bit apprehensive about water in general, but that's just a personal note!
However, Woongjin Playdoci frequently offers fantastic discount events, so keeping an eye out for those deals and booking your visit then would be an incredibly smart move!
Visitors to Woongjin Play City Waterpark can enjoy free parking for up to 8 hours with a full-day pass and up to 6 hours with a half-day pass. Due to high visitor numbers on weekends, parking is available up to the 3rd parking lot.
PET bottle drinks, peeled fruits, and baby food (like infant formula) are permitted. Swimsuits, goggles, and swim caps are essential. Towels are not provided separately, so it's a good idea to bring plenty.
Renting a daybed at Woongjin Play City Waterpark costs ~$55 on weekdays and ~$69 on weekends. Additionally, a ~$7 deposit is required.
The bubble party event at Woongjin Play City Waterpark is typically announced to start around 3 PM. In practice, it started slightly after 3 PM.
If you're with a child who is afraid of water, it's best to focus on the lazy river, indoor Play Spa Zone, and hot spring spas. The recommended route is lazy river - Play Spa Zone - meal - hot spring spas - and then some parts of the outdoor water playground.
