Waroeng Bernadette Seminyak Review 2026: Best Bakso
Looking for the best bakso and beef rendang in Seminyak? Read our honest review of Waroeng Bernadette, a clean and delicious spot perfect for avoiding Bali Belly.
Of all the dining spots I bookmarked before heading to Bali, this cozy Indonesian restaurant was at the very top of my wishlist.
If you are looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine in a spotlessly clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned setting, this is the place. I cannot recommend it enough!

Boasting an impressive 4.7-star rating on Google, this place is a certified local favorite.
On our final day in Bali, we decided to beat the crowd and show up right at opening time. While it is located in Seminyak, it sits slightly away from the main tourist strip, offering a much more relaxed vibe.

We decided to enjoy a pleasant walk from our hotel. The surrounding scenery was absolutely stunning—lush green palms, beautiful skies, and a perfect tropical breeze that put us in the best mood.
We arrived just as they were opening the doors. Being the very first customers felt like a major win, but within minutes, the entire dining room was packed to the brim. Pro tip: Definitely arrive early or book ahead!

My husband and I started with a couple of refreshing iced drinks. Because we ordered the moment they opened, the kitchen took a little longer to prep the food—but the wait was absolutely worth it.

My husband went for the SOP BUNTUT IGA (a traditional Indonesian oxtail soup), while I opted for the classic Bakso (meatball soup). Both arrived in charming, retro enamel pots served alongside crispy shrimp crackers and spicy sambal.

We also ordered a side of Beef Rendang to share—famously recognized by CNN as one of the world's best foods. It was incredibly rich, tender, and packed with deep, aromatic spices.
But let me tell you, the star of the show was definitely the Bakso.
While my husband’s oxtail soup was delicious, it is heavily spiced and might be a bit intense if you aren't used to strong, traditional Indonesian herbs. The Bakso, on the other hand, is a crowd-pleaser.
It features a comforting, savory chicken broth loaded with glass noodles, ramen-style noodles, and tender beef meatballs. There are no overwhelming or gamey smells—just pure, comforting flavor. It is slightly on the saltier side, but in the best way possible. Perfect after a long day in the Bali sun!
Looking at other reviews, it seems almost everything on their menu is a hit.
While the prices are slightly higher than what you would pay at a street-side local warung, the peace of mind is worth every penny. If you have a sensitive stomach and want to avoid the dreaded "Bali Belly" while still enjoying authentic local flavors, this spotlessly clean restaurant is your safest bet. Highly recommended!
