Wanju Saengganggol Park 2026: Fountain, Golf, & Ginger Fun
Looking for the ultimate family day out in Wanju, Korea? Saengganggol Park offers refreshing floor fountains, a park golf course, and a playground. Don't miss the unique ginger treats nearby!
Hello, Global Explorers!
Get ready to discover a fantastic spot in Wanju, South Korea: Saengganggol Park. This hidden gem boasts a refreshing cypress forest and beautiful red clay walking paths, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers and active families alike.

What can you find here? Practically everything! From a full-sized soccer field, foot volleyball and basketball courts, scenic walking trails, and a spacious plaza, to clean restrooms, a park golf course, and even a vibrant floor fountain – Saengganggol Park truly has it all!
Floor fountains have become quite the rage lately, and this park has embraced the trend perfectly!

The playground here is impressively large, featuring plenty of slides and swings to keep the little ones entertained for hours.

You'll see kids having an absolute blast! One of the biggest perks of Saengganggol Park is its early opening hours. While many facilities in nearby Jeonju City don't open until noon, this park welcomes visitors starting at 9 AM. It's fantastic for making the most of your summer break or any school holiday in 2026!

We initially came for the inline skating rink – yes, they have one of those too! – and ended up staying to enjoy everything else. Truly, this park has it all!
While the soccer field isn't free, you can reserve it for around ~$32 USD.

There's also a park golf course, which is free to use. However, if you join a local golf club, you might unlock some special benefits, so keep that in mind!

You'll find water quality certificates displayed, ensuring safety. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Forestry and Greenery Division at 063-290-3813.

The floor fountain operates for 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break, ensuring everyone gets a chance to splash around and cool off. We spent a good 45 minutes enjoying it!

Just look at those happy faces! Pure joy!

Our second stop was the Wanju Xiang Ginger Cultural Space. Wanju's Bongdong area is renowned for its ginger, and this unique cultural center was created to celebrate it. Here, you can explore a 'ginger cave' and savor delicious ginger-infused drinks and desserts. When you order scones, they come with local ginger cream, ginger strawberry jam, and blueberry jam – all sourced right from the region!
They even have ginger-flavored Dalgona (a traditional Korean honeycomb candy). It's a fun treat, though sometimes the kids don't finish it all – a pleasant surprise for parents!

The scones are wonderfully plain, and dipping them in the strawberry jam is a real treat. You'll notice a subtle, aromatic hint of ginger in every bite.

I personally love to slather mine with the ginger cream – it's absolutely delicious! If you're a ginger enthusiast like me, you might just want to move to Bongdong!

And don't forget to try the ginger lemonade – it’s incredibly refreshing and tangy, though perhaps a bit too zesty for younger palates.
Our fun-filled weekend wrapped up with these amazing spots. With the monsoon season ending soon, we expect both Saengganggol Park and the nearby Wanju Valley to be bustling with visitors! Make sure to take advantage of these fantastic places during your summer vacation in 2026. Both the Wanju floor fountain and the Wanju Xiang Ginger Cultural Space open bright and early at 9 AM!
