Ubud Village Hotel Bali Review 2026: Central Stay
Planning a trip to Bali? Read our honest Ubud Village Hotel review to see why this centrally located gem is the perfect base for your 2026 Ubud adventures.
Ubud Village Hotel
When planning a trip to Ubud, your accommodation choices generally fall into two categories.
You can either bury yourself deep in a jungle resort and spend your entire time relaxing on-site, or you can book a hotel right in the heart of town to easily explore the local culture.
The best strategy is to split your stay between both. For the first half of my trip, I decided to stay downtown. I wanted to check off all the major sights, wander the local markets, and try the best cafes before retreating to a secluded resort. That way, I could truly unwind without feeling like I was missing out on anything!

Here is the place I chose: the wonderful Ubud Village Hotel.

Location, Check-in, and Check-out

This Bali hotel is situated almost perfectly in the center of Ubud’s main road (Monkey Forest Road). It is incredibly convenient—just a short walk south to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, the Yoga Barn, and various popular restaurants and live music pubs. Heading north, you can easily explore the Ubud Art Market and the Ubud Royal Palace. It truly is the ultimate launchpad for exploring town.

We kicked off our stay with a refreshing, healthy welcome herbal tea during check-in.
Ubud Village Hotel Rooms & Amenities

I stayed in a Deluxe Room. It was incredibly spacious, featuring a comfortable seating area with a sofa and coffee table, a massive bed, and a bathroom equipped with both a deep soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower.

The bathroom amenities were excellent. I particularly loved that the toothpaste wasn’t a tiny, single-use packet, but a decent travel-sized tube that lasted for several days.

While I didn’t stay in one, they also have private pool villas on the upper level. Though I couldn’t photograph the interiors, the pathway and overall atmosphere leading to the villas felt incredibly serene and tropical.

On-site Facilities

For a boutique city hotel, the amenities are remarkably complete: a well-equipped fitness center, a refreshing swimming pool, a peaceful yoga pavilion, and a quiet library lounge that can double as a workspace.

They also have a beautiful on-site spa. I really wanted to try a treatment, but it closed relatively early (around 5:00 PM or 7:00 PM depending on the day), so I missed my chance. The setup looked absolutely pristine and inviting, though!

And then there is the gorgeous rooftop restaurant.
The vibe up here is incredible. It offers breezy, panoramic views of the town, and because it was so quiet and uncrowded, it felt like a peaceful sanctuary. I didn’t include breakfast in my booking, but if it’s served up here, it would certainly be worth adding on!
Honest Review & Booking Tips
With its unbeatable location and excellent facilities, this is a top-tier choice for staying in downtown Ubud. I had zero complaints during my stay. It is highly recommended if you want a reliable, clean, and comfortable base camp while you spend your days exploring the heart of Bali.

Ubud has become incredibly popular recently, so prices can fluctuate and climb quickly during peak travel seasons. Booking early is definitely a smart move.

One little detail that completely won me over: I had bought some fresh local fruit and left them in a messy pile on the room table before heading out. When I returned, the housekeeping staff had beautifully cleaned and arranged them on a plate. It’s these tiny, thoughtful gestures of Balinese hospitality that truly stay with you.
Just one quick heads-up for light sleepers: the hotel is located right next to a lively bar that plays live rock music. If you are someone who likes to turn in exceptionally early, this might be a minor issue.
However, the live music always wraps up around 11:00 PM (or 11:30 PM at the absolute latest). Since I was usually out enjoying Ubud’s vibrant nightlife anyway, it had zero impact on my sleep. But it’s definitely something to keep in mind when booking your stay at Ubud Village Hotel!
