Pyramids of Chi Bali 2026: Ubud's Unique Sound Healing Journey
Looking for a unique Bali experience? Explore Pyramids of Chi in Ubud for an unforgettable sound healing journey. Find out which session to book for ultimate relaxation!
Pyramids of Chi
I recently returned to the Pyramids of Chi in Ubud, Bali, for the first time since my initial visit back in 2019. This place offers such a mystical and unique experience that if you're planning a trip to Bali, it's definitely worth adding to your must-visit list.
When I first discovered it in 2019, I stumbled upon a poster in a small shop in Ubud town. I remember it wasn't cheap, but it came with a souvenir bracelet that I wore throughout my Bali vacation. I wish I still had it for photos, but it seems to have vanished!
My main reason for returning this time? On my first visit, I spent a good chunk of change, only to fall completely asleep during the session! It was a great nap, but I felt like I missed out on the full experience. So, I vowed to go back and truly immerse myself.
Pyramids of Chi

I tried to find the original shop where I booked before, but it seems it was either a temporary pop-up or closed down due to the pandemic. Thankfully, I knew the location of the pyramids themselves, so I headed straight there.

I thought I was booking the same experience, seeing a familiar-sounding name like "Ancient Sound Healing." But as soon as I saw the price – around ~$18 (approximately 300,000 Indonesian Rupiah) – I had a feeling something was off. It was almost three times cheaper than what I remembered paying! I wondered if I'd been massively overcharged before, but it felt unlikely.
Turns out, this wasn't the session I was looking for. The moment I lay down, I knew it wasn't right – the beds weren't waterbeds.

The original experience I loved was on a waterbed, where the sound vibrations resonated deeply through your entire body. I must have booked too carelessly! I wouldn't recommend the "Ancient" session unless you're specifically looking for a very deep sleep – it certainly delivers on that!
What you *really* need to book is the Beyond Sound session. So, yes, I ended up coming back a second time to get it right! This session costs around ~$44 (approximately 700,000 Indonesian Rupiah). Considering the exchange rate differences over the years and other operational costs, this price felt much more aligned with my memory of the original, premium experience.
Beyond Sound

The Beyond Sound session is a more intimate, small-group experience, limited to just six participants. Before it begins, you're given an entry badge, and the session leader gathers everyone for a brief introduction and chat.

The moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in the right place. The waterbeds – a welcome sight!
Lying on these, you can feel the vibrations directly through your body, creating an incredibly immersive experience.

The small eye mask provided is made from volcanic ash or sand – a cool touch. You get to keep it, and it's perfect for blocking out the laser lights that are sometimes used during the session, or simply for deeper relaxation.

The leader guides you through various sounds and vibrations. All you have to do is lie back, close your eyes, and allow yourself to feel it. I tried my best not to fall asleep, and I found myself drifting in and out of a dreamlike, hazy state – exactly what the leader said would happen: a state between waking and sleeping.
The 'different experience' varies greatly from person to person. I've noticed many Western visitors seem particularly attuned to these kinds of experiences; some even shed tears by the end. This emotional response isn't uncommon in yoga or meditation sessions either.

Perhaps this is why Bali is such a magnet for travelers seeking wellness and spiritual experiences. While this is a sound-based experience, it's also deeply connected to chakra work. My beloved Karsa Spa in Bali, another favorite spot, also offers chakra-related programs.
It's truly a unique experience, something you can only truly find here in Bali. And if you're going, absolutely opt for the Beyond Sound session. The Ancient one just doesn't compare!
Cafe, Souvenir Shop, and Garden

After your session, you can relax at the onsite cafe, which is beautifully designed. It's a great spot to grab a bite and soak in the peaceful ambiance.

Their famous coconut coffee is delicious, and the smoothie bowls are pretty good too.

However, I have to give a special mention to the much-hyped Watermelon Splash...

I ordered it because it looked beautiful, but my personal take was, "Who thought this flavor combination was a good idea?" It's visually appealing, but it's just a large chunk of watermelon topped with some kind of cheese or creamy substance that simply doesn't work together. The cloying texture lingers in your mouth, and even eating the watermelon separately doesn't get rid of it. The two flavors are completely at odds! If you're feeling adventurous, go for it – but don't say I didn't warn you!
Also, they no longer give out the souvenir bracelets, but they still provide the volcanic eye masks for the session. I now have three of them... ha!
📍 Pyramids Of Chi
Banjar Bentuyung Ubud, Jalan Kelebang Moding No.22, Tegallalang, Kec. Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571 Indonesia
You'll find Pyramids of Chi just north of Ubud center. It's a fantastic spot among Bali's must-see attractions. You can utilize their shuttle service from Ubud Palace, or easily catch a Grab or Gojek to get there.

If you enjoy walking, consider taking a leisurely stroll back to Ubud after your session, especially if you time it for sunset. The path through the rice fields offers a serene and beautiful Bali experience.

Don't walk along the main road from the entrance. Instead, follow the arrows that lead you slightly off the main thoroughfare to a lovely rice paddy walking trail.

After a short walk up the road, veer left to find a path adorned with murals. This is your cue! Enjoy the tranquil rice paddies and even a jungle-like section along the way. It’s a peaceful way to experience Bali's natural beauty. This path connects to the Campuhan Ridge Walk, though walking the entire distance might be quite a trek!
