Tegal Sari Accommodation

Our first recommendation is the iconic Tegal Sari Accommodation.

The lush, tropical pathway leading to the pool is incredibly serene. 🍀🌿🌱☘️

The value for money here is absolutely mind-blowing (rates detailed below).

Three Incredible Swimming Pools

The upper-level pool is fantastic and quiet—we barely saw anyone else there.

There is also a main outdoor pool on the ground level.

This ground-floor pool is surrounded by nature. We saw a fellow traveler enjoying a book in complete tranquility.

If we had more free time, we would have spent hours swimming here, but Ubud kept us beautifully busy! 😭

There is even a third pool located right by the lobby. It is beautiful, though you might feel a bit on display if guests are checking in! 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♀️

Room Condition & Hospitality

If you arrive late in the evening, the welcoming staff will personally escort you to your room and show you around.

The mosquito net canopy over the bed adds a lovely, romantic touch to the room. If you let them know you are celebrating a honeymoon, they will prepare a beautiful rose petal arrangement. 🌹🌹🌹

Spacious Layouts

The room is incredibly spacious with plenty of room to unpack your suitcases. There is also a small extra daybed, which makes this hotel a great choice for families traveling with children.

They even lit natural incense to keep the bugs away before they left. The staff was so incredibly kind that we left a small tip (totally optional, but highly recommended for great service!).

The bathroom was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.

Pro-Traveler Tip: Bring a portable shower filter to Bali! 🚿🚿

Whether you are staying in Ubud or Gili, the local water can be harsh on sensitive skin, and filters tend to capture sediment quickly regardless of where you stay.

If you prioritize spacious rooms, multiple pools, and unbeatable value, this is the perfect spot. While we originally booked this for around ~$96 per night, you can find rates as low as ~$51 per night if you book during the shoulder season in October!

Anumana Ubud Hotel

Next up is Anumana Ubud Hotel, which offers an absolutely incredible breakfast atmosphere! 👍🏻

The vibe here is stunning 🥹

It is one of those spots where you truly feel like you have arrived in paradise.

It's also a great spot to people-watch as other global travelers gear up for their daily excursions.

The morning dining atmosphere was fantastic, and both the classic Nasi Goreng and the Eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious.

Modern & Sleek Rooms

While the rooms are slightly more compact than those at Tegal Sari, they have a sleeker, more modern aesthetic.

They also create beautiful customized displays on the bed if you let them know you are celebrating a special occasion.

Blinds can be pulled down for privacy

The bathroom layout is unique, but it is exceptionally clean and polished for a budget stay in Bali.

Hotel Pool & Ambiance

The pool area at night is incredibly romantic. Although we didn't see many people swimming late, the warm, ambient lighting makes it a beautiful spot to unwind. ✨✨

This hotel can also be booked for around ~$64 per night, making it a stellar option to look into well before your trip.

Both properties are located just a 1-minute walk from each other right on Monkey Forest Road. They put you incredibly close to top local cafes, boutique shops, and attractions, offering a comfortable, clean, and highly affordable escape in the heart of Ubud.
