I stayed in quite a few different spots while living in Ubud for a month.

During my month-long stay in Ubud,

I got to experience several unique accommodations.

and Dedari Villas for a peaceful getaway on the outskirts.

Both offered incredible value for money,

and depending on your travel style,

either one will give you a regret-free stay.

How to Choose Your Ubud Stay

Downtown Convenience vs. Outskirts Pool Villa

Dedari Villas is a bit outside downtown Ubud, but the value for money is seriously incredible!

The place where you can truly feel the magic of Bali,

is undoubtedly Ubud.

With its lush jungles and peaceful, healing rice paddy views,

the unique atmosphere here is utterly charming.

However, Ubud is much larger than you might think.

Combined with narrow, one-way roads,

the traffic can get pretty heavy,

which means your choice of location will greatly impact your trip's quality.

Staying in the heart of downtown

means you can walk to amazing eateries, massage shops, and popular sights,

saving you heaps of time and energy.

On the flip side, if you head to the outskirts...

Though you'll need a taxi to get downtown,

you get the unbeatable perk of relaxing in pure peace

by your own private pool.

I decided to combine a budget-friendly downtown stay

with a dreamy outskirts pool villa,

and it made my trip absolutely perfect!

If you're looking for the ultimate value in downtown Ubud,

this is my absolute top recommendation.

With its high ceilings and warm wooden accents, it feels incredibly luxurious.

You can easily walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest and Coco Supermarket.

The location is honestly perfect!

Here's what I loved most about it:

My cheapest night was only ~$31 / My most expensive room was around ~$51

At the time of my visit,

rates ranged from about ~$32 to ~$51 per night,

offering truly unbeatable value.

The staff greeted us with warm smiles and were so helpful,

which made our stay so pleasant.

But because it's so close to nature, little lizards or bugs

can pop in from time to time...

An Honest Review of Tegal Sari: Budget-Friendly Ubud Accommodation (Location, Views, & Value)

Since the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is nearby,

they said monkeys might drop by, but we didn't spot a single one during our stay!

The Perfect Budget-Friendly Jungle-View Villa

Dedari Villas

For a peaceful, quiet escape just outside of Ubud town,

I chose Dedari Villas.

It offers incredibly spacious private villas for all guests.

Though it's a bit of a distance from central Ubud

(about a 10-minute taxi ride),

it makes you feel like you've stepped deep into raw nature.

The breathtaking view of the lush, dense jungle is simply stunning.

Here are some of the things I absolutely loved:

It was the kind of place where you could happily spend the entire day just lounging in the room.

Keep in mind there isn't much to do right outside the property,

but ordering delivery and eating at the outdoor table felt incredibly atmospheric and romantic.

When we stayed, the rate was between ~$38 and ~$64 per night,

which is an absolute steal for a 4-star resort!
