My 4-day, 6-night Bali itinerary was a whirlwind, constantly shifting from Gili to Ubud, then Jimbaran. Honestly, I debated cutting Ubud entirely!

When I first planned my trip, I figured Ubud was all about city sightseeing. So, my main criteria for accommodation was a prime location, as close to the town center as possible.

Since I was only planning to stay one night (before heading to Ayana Resort), I knew I'd spend most of my time exploring Ubud and not much in the hotel itself. That's why I started looking for a budget-friendly option.

That's when I stumbled upon **"JAPA Suites & Villas."** Cleanliness was key, and its location was perfect – within a 5-minute walk to popular Ubud spots like Pison Ubud (a must-try cafe), the Monkey Forest, and Coco Mart. But then! Everything changed. One single photo of another accommodation completely transformed my Ubud plans.

Being a private, detached pool villa meant ultimate privacy. We could use the pool late into the night, enjoyed a separate dining area, and the facilities were impeccably clean with stylish interior design. It perfectly aligned with my new plan of spending quality time at the accommodation!

Finishing our day early and returning to the villa to swim under the starry night sky was incredibly relaxing and one of the best parts of the trip. We'd lounge on the sunbeds, listen to music, and just swim whenever we felt like it. The freedom of a private villa was truly special.

Having two sinks in the bathroom was incredibly convenient, and the shower even allowed for filter changes, which is a nice touch.

The main drawback is that you need to take a Grab to get to the city center, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes. It can be tricky to get around late at night. However, food delivery via Gojek is available, so we often ordered dinner and enjoyed it with instant noodles at the villa.

Another minor downside: the villa has large glass windows, and when we first checked in and opened the blinds, we were greeted with a view of a construction site next door! It wasn't an issue once the blinds were down, and hopefully, it'll be finished soon.

+ Oh, and one more honest drawback for those with sensitive hearing! You might want to think twice. The villa is surrounded by rice paddies, which make for beautiful, serene views in the morning. But at night, you'll hear all sorts of insects and frogs. I'm a light sleeper, so it kept me up, but my travel companion slept soundly without noticing anything. Just a heads-up if you're like me!

Despite these small points, I have zero regrets about choosing this Ubud trip based on that one photo. It was absolutely worth it!
