The Path to a Secret Garden, U Sathorn
U Sathorn Bangkok is a resort-style hotel located in the Sathorn area of Bangkok.
As hinted in our last post, here's the story of U Sathorn Hotel in Bangkok, the accommodation Ms. B ambitiously picked for us!
Honestly, Bangkok has so many great value-for-money places to stay, right? U Sathorn isn't particularly budget-friendly, and its location isn't right in the city center either. But it was more than enough to charm us! Most of all, the entrance to the hotel itself was truly unique. You wind through narrow alleys, pass through a gate like something out of a fortress, and only then does U Sathorn's courtyard unfurl before you. A tuk-tuk carries you down that winding, U-shaped path, and the sense of privacy and peace is just incredible! The moment we arrived, I thought, "Ah, this is it."
Midnight Check-in: Our Worries Were a Luxury

Since our itinerary was 3 nights and 5 days, the check-in/check-out times were a bit tricky, so I was quite worried. It was especially nerve-wracking since I'd never checked in so late before, but the lobby staff greeted us so calmly. One welcome drink, and all my fatigue just melted away!
Our Room: One with the Pool

We stayed in a ground-floor room, and when you opened the door, there was a glass balcony directly connected to the outside. The setup meant you could jump straight into the pool as soon as you woke up... Honestly, I didn't even have time to take pictures of the room. When we went into the room, we were busy lying down, and as soon as we opened our eyes, we were in the water. It almost felt like we spent more time swimming than actually traveling.
Especially Ms. B! She was initially scared, saying she couldn't swim, but after mastering the 'backstroke' (which really means just floating), she was lying in the water day and night. Her expression as she exclaimed, "I'm not leaving this spot!" is still vivid in my mind. Thanks to her, thoughts of my kids back home kept popping up, but it was a wonderfully relaxing time nonetheless.
Michelin Chef Breakfast and Tuk-tuk Service

One of the decisive reasons for choosing U Sathorn was indeed the breakfast. True to the rumors of a Michelin chef's touch, it was genuinely luxurious and delicious. Eggs Benedict, noodles, fruits, coffee... starting each day well-fed with such a hearty breakfast truly elevated the quality of our trip. We also made great use of the convenient tuk-tuk service that takes you to the nearby station.
To sum it up, Ms. B's choice of accommodation was a huge success! If you're looking to quietly relax, swim, and enjoy a delicious breakfast rather than chasing flashy tourist spots, this would be an excellent choice. Both Ms. B and I would absolutely book it again if we return to Bangkok.
In the next part, we'll finally venture out of the hotel and begin exploring the heart of Bangkok. Where do you think our first destination was?
If our Bangkok friendship trip sounds exciting to you, it's time to start searching for flights...
