When you see people planning a trip to Tsushima,
most of them seem to focus their itinerary
on shopping and delicious eateries.
Since most trips are short,
it's hard to try unique experiences
or even find information about them.
But often, after a trip,
there's a lingering regret, "I wish I had made one more special memory."
That feeling can creep in.
So, for those who want to create
some truly unique memories,
I'm going to introduce the Tsushima Yukata Experience.

What's special about the Izuhara Yukata experience
I'm introducing today is that the price is very reasonable,
and you can even make reservations in Korean!
This means even first-timers can enjoy the experience
with complete ease.
The photos turn out absolutely beautiful,
and you can truly immerse yourself in the Japanese aesthetic.
Let me tell you more about how to use this amazing service.

01. Tsushima Izuhara Yukata Experience
Even for me, someone who has visited Tsushima countless times,
this trip was a 1-night, 2-day
package tour.
Those who've been on a Tsushima package tour
know that sometimes the free time can be a bit
awkward or ill-fitting, right?
So, I made a reservation in advance before visiting,
and it was perfect timing, which I really appreciated.
I was able to create special memories during my free time
and capture beautiful photos, so my satisfaction
was incredibly high!

Not just my family, but also a young couple from the same package tour group
joined in the experience together.
The atmosphere while the couple enjoyed the experience
was absolutely wonderful.
With longer daylight hours these days, I think the evening hours
would be fantastic for a truly atmospheric experience.
02. The Joy of Choosing Diverse Yukatas and Accessories
You can have the Yukata experience at Izuhara Hotel,
which is located across the road from Toyoko Inn Izuhara.
They have a printed sign at the hotel entrance,
making it easy to find.
Upon entering, to the left of the entrance,
a variety of yukatas were on display.

If you tell the "Papa" at the counter
that you're here for the yukata experience,
he will kindly assist you.
Just a moment here!
You'll need the "Mama's" help for the experience.
So, it's essential to contact them and make a reservation
at least one hour before your desired time.
Since our guide mentioned we had three hours of free time,
I asked about the available slots during that period
and made an early reservation for 1 PM.
After choosing our clothes, we moved to the prepared area inside.
The clothes were already laid out and ready to be worn,
and we could choose our own obi (waist decoration).

The Tsushima Izuhara Yukata Experience isn't just
about putting on the clothes;
they also have a variety of accessories
to enhance the overall ambiance.

From bags and Japanese-style umbrellas to even decorative swords and geta sandals,
everything is prepared so you can truly
immerse yourself in the Japanese aesthetic.
Especially when taking photos, just holding one of these accessories
really brings the whole vibe to life!
Personally, I highly recommend grabbing an umbrella or a bag
for your photoshoot. ^^
Travel Tip
Don't walk long distances in geta sandals!
Geta sandals are also provided,
and initially, I tried walking in them,
but they're surprisingly uncomfortable to walk in,
and your feet will hurt. ㅠㅠ

So, we wore our regular shoes to move around
and only put on the geta for photos.
I highly recommend this method!
Especially if you're visiting with children,
this tip might be particularly helpful.
03. A Comfortable Tsushima Yukata Experience Thanks to Friendly Assistance
If you're wondering how to even put on a Hanbok (traditional Korean dress),
a yukata is even more complex, right?
You absolutely cannot put it on by yourself.
However, the "Mama" helped us put it on herself,
which made the experience incredibly comfortable.

Don't worry if your Korean isn't fluent,
you can easily communicate with hand gestures and body language.
They'll even help you beautifully arrange your outfit,
and kindly explain everything,
making it super easy and stress-free for first-timers
to enjoy the experience.
The friendly 'Papa' who handles reservations and the counter
can speak Korean, so no need to worry at all!
Once you're dressed in your beautiful outfit,
you can use the provided hair ornaments
to style your hair yourself!
I looked online for some inspiration on how to style it,
and tried to create a similar look.
Here's a little tip: larger hair accessories, instead of smaller ones,
can make your face look smaller in photos!

04. The Location is Absolutely Fantastic!
It's conveniently located right across the street from Toyoko Inn Izuhara,
making it super easy to find!
And guess what? To the left of the hotel is the stunning Hachimangu Miria Shrine,
which is right next door and absolutely perfect for taking photos!
This is why, for a Tsushima yukata experience,
one of the biggest reasons I wholeheartedly recommend this spot is
its unbeatable location!

The rental time is just one hour, so you wouldn't want to waste it traveling far, right?
But since this spot is right next door, you can truly maximize your time!
When you snap photos in front of the iconic torii gate,
doesn't the atmosphere just scream 'Japan'?
While a trip to Tsushima often revolves around shopping and indulging in delicious food,
some travelers might feel a slight longing for more of that authentic Japanese vibe.
If that sounds like you, then this is the perfect way to truly soak it all in!

Even Korean tour groups passing by couldn't help but ask,
'Where did you rent those?' They were clearly envious!
"Knowledge is power when it comes to travel!"

Alright, ready for some super useful info? How do you make a reservation?
Luckily, a Korean speaker handles the reservations!
Reservation Contact Info
Korea: 010-9798-011
Japan: 070-4718-4576
But hold on, dialing these numbers might lead to a 'ring-ring-ring' that sounds like...
Do I have to make an international call?
No!
You can simply add these numbers to your KakaoTalk contacts
and reach out to them directly there.
However, I highly recommend making your reservation with plenty of time to spare.
Since they might not be able to check KakaoTalk messages instantly,
you could potentially miss out on the experience by a hair's breadth!

05. My Tsushima Trip Satisfaction Soared!
What's the best souvenir from any trip? Photos, of course!
Best of all, at ~$6 for an hour,
which is an incredibly affordable price,
you can get beautiful photos without any burden,
so why wouldn't you want to do it?

In many tourist destinations on Japan's main islands,
the cost for a similar yukata experience
is often much, much higher,
so the value for money here was truly outstanding.
If you're planning a trip to Izuhara, Tsushima,
don't just limit yourself to shopping and delicious eats,
definitely make sure to try the Tsushima yukata experience too!

It's absolutely perfect for family trips with kids, but also
fantastic for couples or friends traveling together.
You'll end up with stunning photos,
and you'll truly get to immerse yourself in that authentic Japanese charm,
which will boost your overall trip satisfaction significantly! ^^
