Tips for Booking TRUNK(HOTEL) Yoyogi Park at the Absolute Lowest Rate
When I say I’m a planner, I mean I’m an *extreme* "J".
Before booking a hotel, I compare prices
across almost every booking platform out there, layering on coupons
and credit card discounts to secure the absolute lowest price.
My friends always notice that I manage to travel way below the average rate,
so they often ask me to hunt down deals for their own trips!
This is just a quick snapshot,
but once I narrow down a place,
I map out the final discounted rates across different booking sites
before locking it in.
Because of this, my travels never end up costing a fortune! haha

Pool Season (Open Year-round / Heated Pool)
There are actually two TRUNK(HOTEL) locations in Shibuya.
One is on Cat Street, and the other is right by Yoyogi Park.
The one we booked is the
Yoyogi Park location.
Make sure you double-check which one you're booking! ^^
Usually, when you think of hotels in Japan, you expect tiny rooms and have to compromise on aesthetic vibes.
But this hotel completely changed that for me,
all thanks to one stunning photo I stumbled upon.
It turns out this place is incredibly popular in Japan as a top-tier boutique hotel.
I was 200% satisfied with my stay,
and I’m definitely planning to return next time I’m in Tokyo! haha
Since we visited in autumn,
I was worried we wouldn't be able to use the rooftop infinity pool.
But luckily, it’s heated and open year-round! ❤️
Located right near Yoyogi Park, the entrance is beautifully lush and green.
The chic, boutique hotel lobby vibe
Although we didn’t book a specific "Terrace Room,"
it seems that almost all rooms at TRUNK(HOTEL) come with a small terrace.
The main difference is likely just the size.

It's hard not to fall in love with this terrace! 😭
It’s the perfect spot to sip tea and zone out in the morning or wind down in the evening. haha

The rooms on the opposite side seem to have Yoyogi Park views,
but since our itinerary was packed and we weren't staying in the room all day,
the view wasn't a huge priority. haha
In fact, our view felt super private, which we loved!
One of the best perks of this hotel is that the famous
Fuglen Cafe is right next door!
It’s literally a 3-minute walk.
I highly recommend stopping by right before heading back to the hotel after your day ends,
or
first thing in the morning before you check out.
We grabbed takeout early in the morning so we could enjoy it on our terrace!
++ By the way, I highly, highly recommend that crepe cake!
Honestly, I'm not a huge cake person—
even on my birthday, I usually just have a tiny bite.
But since this trip coincided with my birthday, my travel buddy insisted we get it.
We tracked down this crepe cake,
and oh my gosh, it was incredibly delicious!
You get chunks of real, fresh fruit in every bite. It’s an absolute must-try!

The room is spacious enough for two, and even with both of our suitcases fully laid out, there was plenty of space to move around comfortably.
To the left is the shower room, and to the right is the restroom.
All the amenities were beautifully laid out and clean.

The electric kettle was spotless and in perfect condition,
making it so cozy to sip on warm tea after a nice swim.
Since we had a pretty packed itinerary,
we headed straight up to the rooftop pool the moment we got back from exploring!
You'll need to take the elevator up,
so you can just throw on the cozy robes provided in your room and head on up! haha

Honestly, you could say we came to Tokyo just for this view.
Even though the weather was a bit cloudy that day,
the view was still absolutely breathtaking.
Since it's located right next to Yoyogi Park,
you get this incredible, lush forest view.

We opted for champagne as our welcome drink!
The pool is heated, so it stayed perfectly warm even after the sun went down.
Going back and forth between the pool and the adjacent jacuzzi,
I think we gasped "This is seriously heaven!" at least a hundred times. haha
There's also a convenient outdoor open shower right by the pool,
which is perfect for a quick rinse before heading back down to the room. haha
Since our schedule only allowed for a one-night stay, we were busy running in and out, so...
Since our time just relaxing at the hotel felt a bit too short,
next time I visit, I want to plan a whole day just to stay in and fully enjoy the property.
It's definitely a place I want to return to!
Honestly, out of all the places I've stayed at in Japan so far, this hotel is hands down my absolute favorite,
so I'm definitely planning a return trip! haha ❤️
++ Booking Tips
Every single room comes with its own terrace,
so you don't necessarily have to upgrade to a specific "terrace room" option.
The rooms themselves are much more spacious than typical Japanese hotel rooms,
so you won't feel cramped at all during your stay.
Also, because the heated pool is open year-round,
and room rates can get pretty pricey during peak season,
you can easily avoid the peak season crowd (and prices!) and still fully enjoy the infinity pool.
Also, although we didn't get a chance to use them ourselves,
I highly recommend reserving a bicycle rental when you book your room.
It would be so wonderful to cycle through nearby Yoyogi Park
first thing in the morning!
While you can rent bikes inside Yoyogi Park for a fee,
you'd still have to walk all the way to the park first.
So, renting them straight from the hotel before you head out is definitely the way to go.
Once I decide on a hotel, I usually scour almost every booking site
to compare prices and get the absolute lowest rate.
After all, if you're staying in the exact same room,
it's always better to get it for a cheaper price! ^^
