Toyoko Inn Tsushima Izuhara Review 2026: Best Budget Stay?
Planning a trip to Tsushima Island? Read our honest review of Toyoko Inn Tsushima Izuhara, featuring cozy twin rooms, free breakfast, and a prime location.

A last-minute 2-night, 3-day getaway to Tsushima!
Since Tsushima doesn't have a ton of accommodation options,
I spent a quick moment debating where to book,
but decided on Toyoko Inn Tsushima Izuhara because of its central location
in the heart of Izuhara and the complimentary breakfast!
Toyoko Inn Tsushima Izuhara · 771-1 Izuharamachi Imayashiki, Tsushima, Nagasaki 817-0021, Japan
Location

Being right in the center of Izuhara made getting around incredibly convenient.
Tiara Mall, MaxValu, and the Izuhara Post Office
are just a 1-minute walk away, so shopping and getting cash was a breeze!
The building is also one of the tallest in Izuhara,
so you can pretty much find your way just by looking up at the skyline!
Check-in

Check-in starts from 3:00 PM.
We arrived right at 3:00 PM, and it was already packed!
A tour group was checking in on one side,
and we had to wait in the regular line for about 20 minutes.
If you want to skip the wait, I highly recommend dropping off your luggage,
exploring the area, and checking in a bit later!

Check-in is done via self-service kiosks,
and it's super quick—you just scan your passport!
Amenities

You can grab whatever amenities you need from the self-service bar.
They have a great variety, including toner, body lotion, and cleansing milk,
and pajamas/gowns are also provided right next to the amenity bar.
As someone who can't sleep without pajamas,
I loved that they had these gowns readily available.
Room

We booked a Smoking Twin Room on the 8th floor.
The room size is 15㎡, which isn't huge,
but thanks to the large window, it didn't feel cramped at all.
The beds were also wider than expected, making it super comfortable to toss and turn!
By the way, because we booked last minute, only smoking rooms were left,
but there was almost no cigarette smell in the room!

There's a desk next to the left bed, along with a wall mirror
and a tabletop mirror, which came in really handy when doing my makeup.
There's also a mini-fridge, but bottled water isn't provided,
so you'll want to grab some from the MaxValu next door! :)
Room Essentials

The hairdryer's airflow was actually so good
that I didn't even need to use the one I brought from home.
The power strip cable was incredibly long (felt like about 2 meters),
so I could pull it all the way to the window-side bed
and charge my devices right at my bedside.
It had 2 outlets, a USB port, and a USB-C port, allowing up to 4 devices to be plugged in.
I easily charged my portable fan, DJI Osmo, power bank, and two phones
all at once, which was incredibly convenient! :)
Bathroom

It's the typical prefabricated unit bath you often see in Japanese business hotels.
Overall, it was very clean, but since the cleaning
seemed to have finished right before we entered, there was a slight bleach smell.

Below the bed, there was a simple clothes rack with fabric freshener spray and 4 hangers.
Since it was a summer trip, it was great to have plenty of space
to spray down and hang up our clothes.
Booking Price

I booked my stay for around ~$61.
Since Tsushima doesn't have a wide variety of accommodation options, as your travel dates get closer,
prices can go up, or you might find yourself without any available rooms.
If your travel dates are already set,
I highly recommend comparing and booking in advance.
⬇️ Here is a quick price comparison for the best deals! ⬇️
Agoda | MyRealTrip |
Prices are based on a twin room for 2 people, and clicking the links will redirect you to each platform. |
Both options included a free cancellation policy,
and Agoda was slightly cheaper when I checked.
I excluded Trip.com because, for the exact same dates,
there were either no rooms available or the rates were much higher.
Hotel Amenities

One of Toyoko Inn's hidden perks is the 24-hour free coffee.
You can even add ice to make a refreshing iced coffee.
The cafe we had planned to visit was closed two days in a row,
so we gladly made the most of the hotel's coffee instead!

Right next to the coffee station, you'll find washers and dryers.
It’s 200 yen for a wash and 100 yen for 30 minutes of drying,
which is really reasonable.
Breakfast
Breakfast Hours: 06:30 AM – 09:00 AM

We went down around 7:30 AM,
and the breakfast area was already packed with people.
Since there are barely any restaurants open early in the morning in Tsushima,
having a free breakfast turned out to be an incredibly big plus.
If you're traveling with your parents or children,
it's so convenient since you don't have to wander around looking for breakfast options.

If you prefer a quieter meal, you can head down a bit later,
or use the to-go containers provided to pack your food and enjoy it in your room.

The bread selection featured sliced bread, dinner rolls, and croissants,
which you can warm up in the toaster oven.
They also had strawberry jam, a must-have pairing for bread!

With scrambled eggs, meatballs, sausages, and salad,
the selection was satisfying and hearty enough to make a full meal, even for a free breakfast.

Towards the back, they also had tomato soup, mushroom cream soup, hojicha (roasted green tea),
and warm miso soup ready for guests.

I'm not usually a big breakfast eater,
but since it was a free breakfast, I enjoyed a light and pleasant bite.
Check-out
10:00 AM

Simply tap check-out on the kiosk, insert your card key,
and you're completely checked out!
It was incredibly easy to do without needing any assistance from the staff :)

After checking out, we requested luggage storage.
They will hand you a small slip of paper like the one in the photo,
and all you have to do is show it to them when you return to claim your bags.
Toyoko Inn Tsushima Izuhara
was a highly satisfying hotel option, simply based on its superb location.
With Tiara Mall, MaxValu, the post office, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi
all located so close by, shopping and getting around was incredibly easy,
and the free breakfast and 24-hour coffee were fantastic highlights.
If you are planning your adventure to Tsushima, I highly recommend Toyoko Inn! :D
