If you're exploring Tokyo and want to soak in the charm of Ginza,
Then Yurakucho is absolutely the place to be!
This spot is brimming with authentic Japanese vibes,
And the constant rumble of passing trains makes it even more special.
You'll find a lively array of restaurants and bars tucked right under the railway tracks!
It's a neighborhood that locals absolutely adore,
Truly oozing with an incredible local charm.
It's a popular spot where office workers flock for a drink after work,
And amidst the sophisticated allure of Ginza,
The hidden, unassuming alley atmosphere
Really left a lasting impression,
Making it a place I'd love to revisit.
It's conveniently located close to Ginza and Yurakucho stations.
I had really hoped to try Oden when I visited Osaka,
But all the reservations were full, so I couldn't go.
But here in Ginza Yurakucho, Tokyo,
I made it to the famous Odenya Takeshi!
When I arrived, I was surprised to see it packed and a long queue,
But I was determined to try it,
So I waited for about 40 minutes.
You'll find a variety of izakayas and bars,
Along with plenty of yakitori (skewered grilled food) spots!
Exterior
Tokyo, which was warm during the day,
Turned chilly in the evening, and it even rained briefly.
After waiting for 40 minutes,
I was certainly feeling the chill!
While sitting and waiting,
Many Japanese people passed by, commenting on the sight of us queuing,
As if to say, "Wow, that's dedication!"
You'll also find lovely Japanese ladies here!

Saturday - Sunday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
You can also make reservations via Google.
Wow, look at all these order slips!
We sat at the bar table.
There were reviews on Google saying the staff could be unfriendly,
but when I visited, I found them perfectly fine!
You'll find mustard, soy sauce, and other condiments here.
We ordered a Cola Highball
and a Fresh Lemon Sour.
The Fresh Lemon Sour is a truly authentic lemon sour –
it's not sweet, but wonderfully tart and refreshing!
Inside the round pot, you'll find oden and other delicious ingredients.
Menu
Taro, Fish Cake, Chicken Maruzuke
They also have other drinks like Ginger Highball, beer, and more.
Japanese sake and wine, the variety is incredible!
Here's the drink menu recommended by the manager.
They have tempura, yakitori (skewers), and even an assorted oden menu!
Of course, Oden-ya Takeshi is all about oden!
You'll find konjac, beef sinew, hanpen, mochi-filled tofu pouches, and even chikuwa.
They even have fresh sashimi delivered directly from the market!
The otoshi (appetizer) has arrived!
Otoshi is basically a seating charge,
and while izakayas usually charge for otoshi,
I was surprised that here it was 330 yen per person, or 660 yen for two.
One of the otoshi tasted like marinated beef intestines.
The other was sweet kimchi...
I ordered quite a bit!
I ordered the mochi-filled tofu pouches,
but I got fried tofu, a different menu item, instead.
Haha, I was too lazy to ask them to change it, so I just ate it.
Next time, I'll definitely try the mochi-filled tofu pouches!
The interior isn't huge, but it's very clean.
The food wasn't too salty, and the quality was excellent.
There's usually a bit of a wait,
but trains pass by incredibly close,
so it was a lot of fun watching them.
There were also many locals, giving it an authentic vibe.
This unique experience, combined with the fun of watching the trains,
made it a truly happy place for me.
