A trip to Tokyo isn't complete without seeing the iconic Tokyo Tower! While it looks stunning from almost anywhere, there are some truly magical spots that promise to deliver those Instagram-worthy, once-in-a-lifetime shots.

Today, we're diving into 8 incredible Tokyo Tower photo spots, including the famous underground parking staircase that's gone viral on Instagram, and we'll even share tips on waiting times!

The underground parking staircase is marked, but it sometimes disappears from Google Maps. If you can't find it, look to the right of Ikiiki Hiroba (Ikiiki Plaza).

01. Akabanebashi Station Crosswalk

Personally, this was my favorite spot for getting truly beautiful photos. It's the crosswalk near Akabanebashi Station, and it's incredibly popular, so expect a wait.

When I visited around 4 PM, I waited for about 30 minutes to get my shot.

02. Shiba Park Stairs

While taking photos within Shiba Park is lovely, don't miss the opportunity to capture the tower from its charming staircases.

There's usually no waiting here, so you can take your time and get those perfect, relaxed shots!

03. Seven-Eleven Minato-ku Shiba 3-chome Store

This Seven-Eleven is another popular spot for Instagrammers!

The area directly in front of the convenience store can get busy with customers, so to avoid being a nuisance, I took my photos from a bit further back. Perhaps that's why my pictures didn't quite capture the same magic I'd seen on Instagram.

I wish I could have gotten a better angle for a more stunning shot! 😭

This nearby crosswalk also has a great vibe, but it's a busy one, so I couldn't get a proper portrait shot. If you have the time, you could try crossing it multiple times to snag that perfect photo!

04. In Front of Yokohamaya Cafe

I stumbled upon this spot by chance while walking by, and the photos turned out surprisingly well, so I had to add it to the list!

Funnily enough, I even saw a Japanese singer or rapper filming a music video here. Pretty cool!

05. Underground Parking Staircase Near Tokyo Tower

This is *the* famous underground parking staircase you've probably seen all over Instagram. Most groups spend anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes taking photos here, but I managed to get mine done in about 10 minutes.

Honestly, my original photo (the first one) wasn't great. I took it around 6:30 PM, and the lighting just wasn't doing it justice.

So, I had to resort to a little AI magic to transform it into a clear sky and a beautiful night scene!

Can you see that queue? I waited for a whopping an hour and a half! And that was *after* three groups gave up and left the line early, so it could have been even longer!

06. KALEDOTOWER

Finally, this spot is one I stopped at on the way to Shiba Park. It's also quite well-known, but the Tokyo Tower appears so massive here that the photos didn't turn out as aesthetically pleasing as I hoped.

Most of these Tokyo Tower photo spots are conveniently located near Akabanebashi Station, all within about a 15-minute walk. However, if you start your photo adventure late in the afternoon, you'll likely face long waiting times. I highly recommend heading out early in the morning to beat the crowds and capture your best shots!
