crisp nama-biru (draft beer)?
Whenever I visit Japan, there's one place I always make sure to go to enjoy a crisp, cold draft beer:
a 'beer factory'!
In Tokyo, specifically in Fuchu City, you'll find the Suntory Beer Factory where you can enjoy
a fascinating factory tour and, of course, some fantastic draft beer.
Today, I'll be sharing all about the Musashino Suntory Beer Factory – a truly worthwhile stop on your Tokyo itinerary –
including the types of tours available, how to book, and even how to get there!
First up, let's explore the different types of tours they offer.
📍The tours are divided into two main types: a special tasting tour and a more
general factory tour. I've put together a simple table below to make it easy to understand.

it promises a beer experience quite distinct from the usual!

just hit the booking button pointed to by the yellow arrow!
Just a heads-up, the instructions today will be based on the Japanese version of the site.
Next up, simply select the General Tour.
Then, pick your preferred date and time from the calendar,
and hit 'Book Now' to move forward.
Just a quick heads-up:
📍 on weekdays, tours kick off at 10 AM,
but on weekends, the very first slot is 10:50 AM.
Keep this in mind as you map out your travel plans!

Give everything one final look, confirm, and you're all set!
When you book your tour,
you'll need to complete a pre-payment right then and there.
The process is similar to what you'd typically encounter for online payments.
Just enter your card number, cardholder name (in English),
card expiration date, and CVC.
Then, hit that blue 'Submit' button, and your payment will be complete!
Once all the steps are complete, you'll receive a reservation number,
and a confirmation email will also land in the inbox of the email address you provided!
Lastly, I'll give you a quick rundown on how to get to the Musashino Suntory Beer Factory.
There are primarily two ways to get here:
You can take a shuttle from Bubaigawara Station,
or walk from Fuchuhommachi Station.
For those coming from Shinjuku Station or nearby areas,
it's more convenient to use the shuttle from Bubaigawara.
📍 For shuttle boarding instructions, head out from Bubaigawara Station,
walk towards the arcade on your right,
and after descending the stairs, you'll find a bus rotary.
Simply wait for the shuttle bus
at the bus stop there.
The shuttle bus timetable is as shown in the photo.
Generally, the shuttle bus departs from Bubaigawara Station
30 minutes before the tour starts.
You can reach the factory in just 10 minutes!
Also, 20 minutes after your tour ends,
a shuttle will be available from the factory back to Bubaigawara Station,
so you can use it for your return journey to the city!
