Looking for accommodation for a family of four in Tokyo?
Were you shocked by hotel prices?
Are you wondering if you need to book two twin rooms?

If you're traveling with kids, you'll have a lot of luggage and laundry concerns,
and if you're traveling with parents,
you probably prefer a room type where everyone can stay together even more.

I was also looking for family accommodation in Tokyo,
and after searching high and low,
I discovered there's an alternative to hotels –
a private rental type of accommodation!
Especially if it has separate bedrooms and living areas,
a kitchen, and even a washing machine,
and it's cheaper than a hotel?!

Today, I'll organize and introduce you to
Tokyo Nerima Unistay Room 401, which is perfect for a family of four.
1. Why I Recommend a Condominium Instead of a Hotel for Your Tokyo Family Trip
Hotels in central Tokyo are usually based on double occupancy,
so a family of four often needs to book two rooms,
or add an extra bed.

However, condominium-style accommodations
are designed for multiple people from the start,
meaning for the same budget,
you can enjoy a much more spacious area.
That's the biggest advantage.
(Japanese hotel rooms are notoriously small,
aren't they?! ㅠㅠ)

Plus, if it comes with a kitchen and a washing machine,
it's convenient for heating up baby food or
preparing a simple late-night snack.
You can also do laundry during your trip,
which significantly reduces your luggage!

Especially given the nature of Tokyo travel, where you'll be walking a lot,
it's crucial to have a comfortable space to relax
at your accommodation.
For these reasons, condominium-style accommodations are becoming increasingly popular
among families of four.
2. Tokyo Unistay Nerima Room 401 Basic Information

Currently, rooms are available in three types: 202 (for 2 people), 203 (for 3 people),
and 401 (for 4 people).
If you're a family of four, you should book
Room 401, which accommodates 3-4 people!

The building has 2nd and 4th floors, so you might be worried about stairs,
but there's an elevator,
so you don't have to worry even if your luggage is heavy!
3. Why Room 401 is Especially Great for Families of Four
Let's take a closer look at Room 401.
I found that the bedroom and living room were completely separate, which is fantastic!

The bedroom boasts a cozy balcony, while the living room features an even more spacious one.
This means you can truly savor that well-deserved 'parenting-off' time in the living room after the kids are tucked in! Hahaha!

The bathroom is also thoughtfully separated from the toilet, and it's equipped with the latest facilities, including a drying function.
This means bathing the kids and drying towels afterward will be a breeze.

One important detail to note is that the standard occupancy is 3-4 guests,
and if your party exceeds three, an additional ~$25 (¥4,000) will be charged per person per night!
Also, remember that there's a minimum stay of two nights! Make sure to keep these points in mind when planning your trip!
4. Nerima Station's Location and Local Amenities

This fantastic accommodation is just a 3-minute walk from Nerima Station!
And from Nerima Station, you're only about 20 minutes by train to Shinjuku and roughly 27 minutes to Shibuya,
making access to central Tokyo surprisingly convenient!

The surrounding area around the accommodation is also incredibly well-equipped with amenities.
Just a 1-minute walk away, you'll find a 24-hour convenience store,
And within a 3-minute walk, there's Daiso, Uniqlo, the large supermarket SEIYU, and a vibrant restaurant street!

When you urgently need to grab snacks for the kids or essential daily necessities, having a convenience store right at your doorstep is a lifesaver.
Plus, you can easily shop at the large supermarket and prepare simple meals back at your accommodation,
helping you keep those food expenses in check.

Having Daiso and Uniqlo right there? Talk about shopping convenience!
We all know lugging heavy shopping bags back to your stay is no fun task!
As a bonus, just a 3-minute walk away, you can also access the free observation deck on the 20th floor of Nerima City Hall!
If the weather is clear, they say you can even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji!
5. Kid-Friendly Attractions to Explore
Nerima Ward is renowned as the birthplace of Japanese animation,
But what truly stands out is the huge advantage of being able to walk to the Harry Potter Studio Tour – one of only two in the entire world!

If you stay at this accommodation,
they actually offer free rental of a Gryffindor costume – complete with a cloak, scarf, tie, and wand – for Harry Potter Studio visitors!
I highly recommend inquiring via message in advance to secure yours! (One Gryffindor costume each in M and L sizes, first-come, first-served)

Given that purchasing these costumes at the local souvenir shop can be quite pricey,
this alone is a fantastic perk for families with kids!
Beyond that, you can also experience Toshimaen Niwa-no-yu, a rare urban onsen with a stunning Japanese garden view, and enjoy a pleasant stroll along Toshimaen-dori, Nerima Ward's vibrant main street.

You could easily fill an entire day's itinerary
just by exploring the local spots near your accommodation..!
Having visited Tokyo many times,
I found myself even more drawn to this kind of authentic local experience!
