Booking Tickets for Tokyo Harry Potter Studio

The Tokyo Harry Potter Studio doesn't sell admission tickets on-site,
so advance booking is essential!
Last entry times vary depending on weekdays, weekends, and seasons.
On weekdays, you can book in 30-minute slots
from 9 AM to 3 PM.
The 9 AM opening slot is very popular and tends to sell out quickly.

I booked for 3 PM on a Saturday,
and even though it was a weekend, there weren't many people.
📌Ticket Price Comparison

so it's a good idea to store any heavy luggage in the coin lockers next to the entrance.
Dining Options

💡Tip) You can enter the Tokyo Harry Potter Studio one hour earlier than your reserved time! |
Even though my reservation was for 3 PM, I entered at 2 PM,
and headed straight to the restaurant for lunch first.
There's the Food Hall, themed like the Great Hall, and the Frog Cafe,
and on the opposite side, you'll find the merchandise shop.

You can order at the kiosk, and while the overall price range is quite high:
Brunch: 2,300 yen
Pizza: 2,800 yen
Burger: 1,700 yen
since all the food was delicious, I think it's definitely worth having a meal there!

While you can certainly eat during the tour,
the Great Hall's unique concept is something you can only fully experience before the tour officially begins,
so I recommend just grabbing a Butterbeer during the tour!

The Butterbeer costs 1,100 yen, including the cup,
and you can wash the cup and take it home as a souvenir after you're done!
Limited Edition Merchandise

There's a merchandise shop located at the Platform 9¾ set in the middle of the tour,
and it carries exclusive limited edition merchandise that you won't find anywhere else!

✔️Platform 9¾ Name Tag (1,500 yen)
✔️Hogwarts Express Train Ticket (2,000 yen)
These items can only be purchased at this mid-tour merchandise shop,
and are not available at the merchandise shop near the entrance.

The name tag is said to be available until June 30th,
and since it's a limited edition, I just couldn't resist getting one! Haha.
They even engraved my desired name in gold lettering.
Photo Opportunities

💡Tip) If it's your birthday or a special anniversary, you might even get to open the Great Hall doors yourself! |
Before the tour officially begins, you'll watch a video in a theater-like setting, and it's a great idea to sit in the front row during this time.
During our time slot, there wasn't anyone celebrating a birthday or anniversary, so a staff member personally chose people to open the doors.
And guess what? Both I, fully decked out in my Gryffindor robe, and someone else from the very front row were chosen!

Once you step inside the Great Hall and the doors close, it's time to quickly snap some photos!
You can't stay in the Great Hall for too long, as the next group of visitors will need to enter soon.

The incredible moving dormitory staircase, a unique highlight you'll only find at the Tokyo Harry Potter Studio!

You can even capture moving videos within the picture frames! Haha.
There are so many interactive experiences, which makes it incredibly fun!

And don't forget to strike a pose and get some themed photos in Professor Snape's Potions Classroom!

The famous library photo zone!
There were no chairs, so I pretended to sit on an invisible chair for the photo, lol!

We went outside and took photos in front of Hagrid's Hut too.
Beyond that, there's also Harry's house at 4 Privet Drive,
which you can even go inside.
Seeing the cupboard under the stairs in person, it was incredibly tiny! 😭

Platform 9 ¾ is where the most people are.
Taking a photo in front of the train even has a waiting line...
Inside the train, the moment Harry and Ron first met,
and Malfoy and his gang(?) are recreated with mannequins.

We also explored Diagon Alley.
At the London studio, they had performances here,
but Tokyo didn't really have any.
There was just a short magic lesson.

Finally, we wrapped up by seeing Hogwarts Castle! 🩷
Even though I couldn't capture all the photo zones and interactive spots,
it's quite a lot, isn't it?
I thought I'd just take a quick look, but three hours flew by...
Arriving right at 9 AM for opening, when there's no one around,
would be best for photos, but if that's difficult,
I also recommend visiting on a weekday around 3 PM!
