The perfect end to any Japan trip always seems to involve
**Don Quijote shopping**, so much so that even on this Tokyo adventure,
I ended up visiting Don Quijote
not once, but twice!
Today, I'll be sharing **my top recommendations for souvenirs to grab at Don Quijote** when you're on
your Japan adventure.

Most Don Quijote stores across Japan **operate 24 hours a day**, which is an incredible perk!
This means you **can shop late into the night**.
So, I highly recommend making your visit after enjoying some late-night snacks – it's a great way to help digest everything
and grab some amazing souvenirs before heading back to your hotel.
It's a fantastic itinerary!
You'll feel like you've truly made the most of your day.
It's such a rewarding experience.
Alright, let's dive into **my top recommendations for Don Quijote souvenirs** in Tokyo!
I'll introduce each item briefly, one by one.
Snacks & Sweets
📍 First up on our recommended list are the incredibly easy-to-shop-for **snacks and confectionery!**
They're a perfect starting point for your souvenir haul.
The first snack brand I want to introduce is **Pocky**.
It's quite similar to Pepero in Korea!
While you can find Pocky in many countries, Japan offers
an incredible variety of unique flavors.
You'll find flavors like Milk, Double Chocolate, Chocolate, Grape, Amazake,
Mint Chocolate, Caramel, and so many more – the selection is truly impressive!
If you're a fan of mint chocolate, this is a must-try!
Make sure to grab the Mint Chocolate Pocky!
It's an incredibly addictive flavor.
With most varieties priced around 200 JPY,
they make fantastic gifts to bring back home.
Next up is a snack I always stock up on whenever I visit Japan:
**Pretz stick crackers**.
Pretz also comes in a wonderful array of flavors.
You can find unique varieties like Takoyaki, Chicken Wing, Mentaiko (spicy pollack roe), Wasabi, Apple,
Butter, Vegetable, and Tomato.
Personally, I find the Japanese Pretz Tomato flavor has such a rich, umami taste that I absolutely love.
(It's perfect with a beer!)
The price is also incredibly affordable, so I always make sure to stock up.
For reference, a single box of Pretz was priced at
119 JPY before tax, and 129 JPY after tax!
Next up is **Jagarico**, a snack everyone is sure to love!
While the cup-style Jagarico is incredibly popular, I personally find the individually packaged
bags of Jagarico more convenient to enjoy.
If you're craving that unique, satisfyingly crunchy texture that only Jagarico delivers,
be sure to grab some for your basket!
Finally, we have **Tsumamidane (つまみ種)**.
Among the many varieties of mixed snack bags,
this one truly stands out for its fantastic assortment.
It costs 239 JPY (259 JPY after tax).
Every time I travel to Japan, I always make sure to grab the red original flavor
and enjoy it with a cold beer.
This time, I discovered a new product called "Afternoon Tsumamidane."
It was considerably sweeter than the original,
but this flavor was incredibly appealing too!
If you love savory snacks to pair with drinks,
you'll definitely be happy with these two!
Jellies
📍 Next up is jellies!
You might find Kororo Jelly in your home country, but you can buy it much cheaper at Don Quijote.
The price at the branch I visited was 92 yen after tax, which is about ~$1.
These jellies are bursting with fruity flavor, so if you're a fan of chewy textures, you've got to try them!
Next, we have konjac jelly, which tastes even better when frozen!
They even have zero-calorie options, following the latest trends, but personally, I felt the zero-calorie ones were a little less flavorful.
Therefore, I highly recommend sticking with the regular konjac jelly.
Just a heads-up: konjac jelly isn't allowed in carry-on baggage, so make sure you have checked luggage if you want to bring some home!
Chocolates
📍 Our third category is chocolates!
For a souvenir that everyone will love, I recommend Kit Kat.
While Kit Kats are available worldwide, Don Quijote in Japan offers an incredible array of unique flavors!
With flavors like lime, apple, peach, cheesecake, and green tea, new flavors seem to appear every time I go, making it an exciting chocolate.
Kit Kats are perfect for bringing back to share with colleagues or friends, making them a fantastic office treat!
Next is Alfort chocolate, which I absolutely adore!
Alfort is a brand known for its exquisite chocolate-topped biscuits, offering a sophisticated experience in terms of texture, taste, and rich flavor.
I personally adore the Sablé flavor, but since I couldn't find it on this Tokyo trip, I just had to stock up on the milk chocolate version instead!
(The milk chocolate is incredibly sweet too.)
Most Alfort flavors have been a huge hit with me, so I highly recommend trying a variety of them!
I also picked up this peach chocolate, which was a steal at just 39 yen (about ~$0).
It's individually wrapped for convenience, and the peach tart flavor was surprisingly delicious!
Next up is the widely popular Garbo chocolate.
This chocolate offers a delightful crunch from the biscuit inside, enveloped in sweet chocolate – truly one of the tastiest!
While it might be a bit pricier than some others, I definitely recommend giving it a try at least once!
Seasonings
📍 Moving on to seasonings, we have the once-trending soy sauce specifically for egg over rice!
It's already quite famous, but it seems they've released many unique flavors, like mentaiko (spicy cod roe)!
If you're a fan of egg and soy sauce rice, you absolutely have to check these out!
Plush Keychains
📍 Our final recommendation is for these adorable plush keychains that both kids and adults (especially women!) will absolutely love.
There were so many popular, steady-selling characters
like Nintendo and Pokémon!
Beyond that, you'll find dozens of types of plushies and keychains,
including Kirby, Crayon Shin-chan, Rilakkuma, and more!
If you're looking for a cute companion to hang on your bag,
you can easily shop 'til you drop at Don Quijote alone.
Alcohol
📍 Last but not least, let's talk about alcohol!
Don Quijote is known for its budget-friendly alcohol options that offer great value,
rather than high-end spirits. So, I'll mainly introduce those!
First up are Kubota, Dassai, and Hakkaisan, which are incredibly popular among Korean shoppers.
For the 300ml size, Kubota Senju and Hakkaisan are ¥1,650,
Dassai 45 is ¥1,638, and Dassai 39 is ¥2,189.
Also, Dassai 23 750ml, one of the most beloved sakes among Koreans, typically costs around ¥9,500.
However, you can often find it for around ¥6,000 (tax-included) elsewhere,
so I'd recommend not buying it at Don Quijote.
Personally, the alcohol I'd recommend picking up
are value-for-money whiskies like the ones in the photos.
Both Nikka Black and Torys are in the ¥800 range,
and Suntory Whisky Kakubin is ¥1,694.
These whiskies are perfect for making refreshing highballs and
are more than half the price compared to buying them back home, making them a worthwhile purchase!
These days, there are also many lemon sour bases available.
You can mix more than 10 drinks for around ¥600,
so if you're a fan of sours, definitely grab one!
Finally, some smaller sizes of premium whiskies like
Hakushu and Yamazaki were also on display.
They're so famous and hard to find that many had already sold out.
Since these can be a bit pricey,
I'd only recommend buying them if you really want to try them!
Excessive drinking can lead to strokes, memory loss, and dementia. Drinking during pregnancy increases the risk of birth defects.

to grab when you visit Don Quijote during your Japan trip.
Don Quijote typically operates 24/7, making it perfect for late-night shopping
after you've finished your daily itinerary. I highly recommend carving out a little time to explore!
As a quick shopping tip, please note that
tourists tend to flock to Don Quijote in the evening, so the tax-free line can get incredibly, incredibly long.
(Sometimes you might even wait for an hour!)
Even with the 10% tax refund, the actual amount saved often isn't as significant as you might think.
So, sometimes, it might be a better option to skip the tax refund
and head back to your hotel early.
