Tokyo Disneyland Admission Ticket Purchase
From Getting to DisneySea to DPA Ticket Strategies
Ⓒ Text and Photos by Minhahae
For my Tokyo trip, DisneySea was what I looked forward to the most.
Since the new Frozen and Rapunzel areas opened, this was my first time visiting.
So, this time I re-researched everything from ticket booking to DPA strategy
and put it all to the test at Tokyo Disney!
Starting October 2026, I've noted down the latest information on admission ticket and DPA prices,
as well as changes to the previous 40th-anniversary pass.
This is all based on my visit in October!
* P.S. I've also included a review of Disney on a rainy day ^.^
Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea Ticket Booking
Before visiting Tokyo Disney Resort, preparation is quite simple.
You just need to buy your tickets in advance to enter.
Information on DPA, parades, restaurants, etc., can be sorted out on the day you arrive.
So, after purchasing your tickets, simply install the app beforehand,
and your pre-visit preparations are complete.
However, you cannot buy admission tickets at the gate,
so it's cheaper to purchase them online in advance :)

Starting October 2026, ticket prices increased slightly,
but there's a clever tip to still get them a bit cheaper!
As of November, weekday prices are around ~$70
Weekday price: ~$71
Weekend price: ~$80
→ If your schedule allows, a weekday visit is highly recommended.

I bought my admission tickets through Klook,
and I was able to use a discount coupon, getting ~$2 off per person.
Just enter the coupon code when you check out haha.

Using the Tokyo Disney Resort App
Once you've purchased your admission tickets, it's time to install the app.
Search for 'Tokyo Disney Resort' and install the official Disney app.
After installing, simply sign up.

Then, tap 'SCAN TICKET',
and scan the QR code from the admission ticket you bought on Klook.
It's easy to do this in advance.
If you purchased tickets separately from your friends, tap the '+' button
and select 'Invite members' to register your group.
This allows you to purchase DPA and use restaurant services all at once,
making your experience much more convenient, so definitely do it! :)
How to Get to Tokyo DisneySea & The "Open Run" Strategy
When heading to Tokyo DisneySea,
it's more convenient to search for Maihama Station on Google Maps.
Once you arrive, you'll need to take either the monorail or a bus to reach the park.
This part of the journey doesn't always show up well on Google Maps,
which can make it seem like it takes longer.
📍 Maihama Station
26-5 Maihama, Urayasu, Chiba 279-0031 Japan
📍 Tokyo DisneySea
1-13 Maihama, Urayasu, Chiba 279-8511 Japan

After getting off at Maihama Station,
I exited and took the Disney Monorail.
At 300 JPY for a one-way trip, it's not exactly cheap!
If you want to save some money, I recommend taking the bus.
I personally love the Disney-themed monorail, and
It was a rainy day, so I took the monorail for easy travel :)

Since there was a rain forecast on the day I went, I took my time getting there,
Opening Time: 9:00 AM
Arrived at 8:30 AM > Entry started around 8:35 AM,
and after the bag check, I entered around 9:00 AM.
They say there are fewer people on rainy days,
but it was still crowded, so if you want to immediately get more than two DPAs,
I recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before opening
(Apparently, on clear days, many people usually do a 'morning dash' at 7 AM...)
much more.)
Tokyo DisneySea DPA Recommended Attractions
First, a change since October:
The previously available free 40th Anniversary Pass
is gone, so unless you purchase a DPA, everything else
requires waiting in line.

And the DPA attraction prices have also increased.
* Pink indicates popular DPAs
DisneySea DPA Attractions | DPA Price (per person) |
Soaring | 2500 yen |
Toy Story Mania! | 2000 yen |
Raging Spirits | 1500 yen |
Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure | 2000 yen |
Rapunzel's Lantern Festival | 2000 yen |
Journey to the Center of the Earth | 2000 yen |
Frozen Journey: Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey | 2500 yen |
Here's something important to know about purchasing DPAs:
1) You've ridden the first DPA attraction you purchased, OR
2) One hour has passed since your purchase.
That's when you can purchase your next DPA!
Also, you need to register your card for the first time when paying,
so make sure to bring at least two physical cards with you
(just in case one doesn't work properly).

The first to sell out are Frozen and then Soaring!
As you can see on the map, Frozen, Peter Pan, and Rapunzel
are three attractions clustered in the same area.
If you enter around 9 AM and want to get a Frozen DPA,
select a time slot for Frozen: 10 AM or 11 AM, then
ride Rapunzel → ride Peter Pan → ride Frozen (with DPA).
Riding them in this order was the most efficient.
I bought a Frozen DPA at 9:05 AM, right after entering.

Then, an hour later at 10:05 AM,
I also purchased a Soaring DPA for 3 PM.
After riding Frozen and past 11 AM,
I had already reserved a restaurant and received my food right away.
If you use Disney Mobile Order within the app,
you can choose your desired restaurant, menu, and time,
and pick up your lunch immediately.

Until it was time for Soaring, I spent time in my favorite area at DisneySea,
the Little Mermaid theme land, playing water-avoiding games
and just exploring, and time flew by!
It's indoors here, so it's perfect for comfortably walking around even in the rain.

Among the attractions available at DisneySea,
Center of the Earth and Raging Spirits are both
roller coaster-style attractions.
Raging Spirits > Lots of outdoor sections, not recommended on rainy days
Center of the Earth > Mostly indoor, highly recommended
For Center of the Earth, the wait time was 140 minutes, so I couldn't bear it and bought a DPA (Disney Premier Access) for it before riding Soaring. It's a popular attraction, so I have absolutely no regrets! Plus, it's super fun... hehe... even better than Soaring.
Here are some pro tips for DisneySea that are good to know!

You can get a souvenir for your first Disney visit!
If you tell a cast member it's your first time visiting Disney,
they'll give you a cute "Ikku" (name-decorating) sticker like this.
It's free and adorable, perfect as a souvenir, hehe!

Make sure to look up reviews before using DPA!
Preferences will definitely vary from person to person.
Personally, I recommend Frozen and Center of the Earth.
(Frankly, even buying just two costs around ~$29-~$32 per person,
but if you have the budget, enjoying everything with DPA is pure heaven!!!)
Soaring → Feels like I don't know why the wait is so long... DPA might not be worth it.
Frozen → DPA totally worth it for both storytelling and ride time.
Rapunzel → Pretty, but DPA not recommended compared to the ride time.
Center of the Earth → Fun and long wait time, so DPA was satisfying.
Peter Pan → Beautifully decorated, but consider carefully for DPA.

The Toy Story themed area truly comes alive after dark.
The wait times for attractions are always long, so I couldn't ride it again this time,
but it's an attraction frequently visited by families with children.
Make sure to take lots and lots of photos here, hehe!

Is Tokyo Disney worth visiting even in the rain? Yes, it is!
Even though they say there are fewer people than on other days, it was still crowded.
Wait times for popular rides were around 120-160 minutes?
However, some rides require you to get a bit wet in the rain,
so I recommend bringing a raincoat, and parades might be canceled,
so if parades are crucial for you, it's not recommended.
This was my third visit to Disney,
and you can even buy DPA for parades, so if you want a good spot on a nice day,
I highly recommend buying DPA, hehe!
It felt like having a reserved seat, which was really comfortable.

I was really curious after the new Rapunzel and Frozen themed areas opened at DisneySea,
and visiting them this time, I was truly satisfied with the quality and abundance of things to enjoy!
It truly feels like theme parks are places where you can have fun regardless of the weather, hehe!
Don't forget to prepare your tickets in advance and register them on the app,
and I hope you can book a bit cheaper by applying the discount coupon I mentioned above :)
