Tokyo Disney Tickets 2026: Disneyland vs. DisneySea & DPA
First-time visitor to Tokyo Disney? We break down the differences between Disneyland and DisneySea, current ticket prices for 2026, and how to snag Disney Premier Access for popular rides.

If you're visiting Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea for the first time,
the array of options from admission tickets to DPAs can be a bit confusing at first.
I personally visited Tokyo DisneySea, and the key takeaway was to prepare your basic ticket before arriving and then quickly snag a DPA right after entry.
I'll break down everything for you, from the differences between Disneyland and DisneySea,
to current ticket prices, DPA types, and even the rides, all in one go.
+ Oh, and I'll also share how to get discounted tickets!
1. Tokyo Disneyland vs. DisneySea: A Comparison

Tokyo Disney Resort is divided into two fantastic parks:
Disneyland and DisneySea.
Disneyland boasts a strong classic Disney vibe with familiar characters like Beauty and the Beast and Winnie the Pooh,
→ making it perfect for family trips with children.
Plus, it has the iconic Disney Castle and dazzling fireworks.

On the other hand, DisneySea, which I visited,
offers a wider variety, from Fantasy Springs featuring Frozen and Tangled,
to more thrilling rides like Tower of Terror and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
With its unique sea-themed atmosphere, it creates a distinct vibe,
→ so if you're traveling as adults or a couple,
I personally found DisneySea to be a bit more enjoyable.
(Instead of a castle, DisneySea has a magnificent globe!)
2. Tokyo Disneyland Ticket Prices

To start, here’s a breakdown of the Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea ticket types:
1-Day Passport: This acts as both your admission ticket and an all-access pass to rides.
DPA (Disney Premier Access): A paid ticket that allows you to quickly board certain popular attractions using a separate queue.
(Purchasable via the app after entering the park)
Entry Request: Allows you to participate in lotteries for shows and other experiences on-site to receive viewing tickets.
→ In short, simply purchase a 1-Day Passport first. For those who want to maximize their day, the key is to arrive early (open run) and secure DPAs as soon as the park opens.

For both Disneyland and DisneySea, you simply purchase a 1-Day Passport, specifying which park you plan to visit.
📌 Price Comparison
Klook: ~$67
KKDAY: ~$72
I compared prices across different platforms, and

3. Types of DPA

Once you have your admission ticket ready, the next crucial step is the Tokyo Disney Resort app.
After entering the park, you can purchase Disney Premier Access (DPA) through the app. Popular attractions have limited quantities, so it's a good idea to check and secure your DPA immediately after entry if there's a specific ride you want to experience.
It's highly recommended to register your ticket in the app before entry
so you can purchase DPA right away.
(Just tap the 'Scan Ticket' button and scan your QR code).

📌 DisneySea DPA Prices
Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey: 2,500 JPY
Rapunzel's Lantern Festival 2,000 JPY
Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure 2,000 JPY
Soaring is 2,500 JPY, and Toy Story Mania and
Journey to the Center of the Earth are 2,000 JPY,
while Tower of Terror and Raging Spirits are 1,500 JPY.

After selecting your desired time slot and purchasing,
when your designated time arrives, you can enter through the dedicated entrance
using your activated QR code.
When I actually used it, instead of a long regular queue,
I was able to enter through a shorter line,
so it definitely made a huge difference for popular rides! 👍🏻
4. Rides

If you're looking for thrilling rides at DisneySea,
I'd first recommend Tower of Terror, Journey to the Center of the Earth,
and Raging Spirits.
From my perspective, Tower of Terror felt like
the most thrilling of them all.
(It has a vertical drop section, similar to a Gyro Drop ride.)

Journey to the Center of the Earth and Raging Spirits were also
quite enjoyable for anyone who loves a good thrill.
Journey to the Center of the Earth is similar to Comet Express (a popular ride in Korea) but
it has sections where you rapidly ascend in complete darkness and then quickly descend.
It's so fast that it doesn't really give you a "heart-pounding" feeling (in a scary way),
but I think it might not be suitable for those who dislike dark spaces.

On the other hand, if I had to choose just one area in DisneySea,
I would definitely include Fantasy Springs.
Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey is a grand attraction that follows the Frozen story,
and Rapunzel's Lantern Festival lets you enjoy the lantern scene from a boat.
Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure combines 3D visuals and movement,
so rather than intense thrills, it offered the fun of immersive enjoyment.
Currently, all three of these attractions are eligible for Disney Premier Access (DPA) at DisneySea.

And I also really enjoyed the park's atmosphere
as much as the rides themselves.
Buying headbands and filling seasonal popcorn buckets with popcorn,
or seeking out different popcorn flavors in each area –
thinking about it now, those memories are quite vivid.
(Different popcorn buckets are released each season,
so collecting them is also a fun experience.)
If it's your first visit and you're looking for that classic Disney atmosphere and family-friendly rides,
→ DisneyLand is recommended.
If you want to enjoy Fantasy Springs and thrilling attractions,
→ choosing DisneySea as your base might make it a bit easier.
Once your travel dates are set, first,
check the 1-day passport price,
and after entering, I recommend quickly grabbing your desired DPA!

On another day, I went on a Mount Fuji tour,
and I'll be sure to share that review as well.
