It's a coffee street,
and I've arrived in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, a super hot spot in Tokyo these days!
It's a quiet residential area,
with a vibe reminiscent of Seoul's trendy Seongsu Cafe Street.

As you walk around, you'll even find the first Blue Bottle Coffee store here.
Kiyosumi Shirakawa is also home to
Mameya Coffee.
After pondering where to go...

We were the only Koreans there,
and it was buzzing with locals.
The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic!
It's a genuine hot spot,
and it truly feels like a hidden gem tucked away in a super quiet residential area.
They have outdoor seating,
and about four spots inside.
Even though there aren't many seats,
customers just keep flowing in!

It was lovely to see people out walking their dogs,
and even two young fathers with a newborn baby!
It was truly interesting to observe
such a diverse and vibrant crowd.

Inside, you'll find a massive roasting machine!

Banana Pound Cake
The Banana Pound Cake is incredibly rich in banana flavor
and has a wonderfully fluffy texture.
And the cafe mocha latte? It's so rich
and nutty,
truly delicious!

Here's a look at their menu:

Long Black
Drip Coffee
Latte
Flat White
Mocha
Cold Brew
Decaf
Oat milk coffee is also available!

A charming little garden I stumbled upon on the way!

After savoring our coffee, we made our way to Ginza for dinner!

Tendan
An upscale Yakiniku specialty restaurant in Ginza.
Did you know its main branch is in Kyoto?
And as expected from Ginza, the ambiance is incredibly luxurious!
Being on a higher floor, it also boasts amazing views.

We actually went without a reservation.
If you check their website via Google,
you'll find a Korean version and can easily make a reservation.
It started getting quite busy after 7 PM, dinner time.

Even the legendary cartoonist behind Slam Dunk has visited here!
You'll see tons of autographs all around.

They offer course meals, and specifically for lunch,
you can enjoy their course meals at an even more incredible value.
We decided to indulge in the ~$69 course meal.

Here's the course menu description in Korean.

Salad came out, along with pre-meal bread, namul (seasoned vegetables), and kimchi.
The namul was more delicious than I expected,
and having kimchi helped cut the richness of the meat.

It was incredibly tender and delicious, practically melting in my mouth,
but it was a bit on the rich side.

Paired with kimchi, it was a match made in heaven!
We also got two types of roast meat, galbi (ribs), and gopchang (beef intestines).
After finishing it all, I was incredibly full!

The mille-feuille meat had three layers, and dipping it in the sauce was a perfect complement.

There was something served in a cup that tasted like dongchimi (radish water kimchi),
and its flavor was truly unique.
Some reviews even said it tasted like mul-kimchi (water kimchi) made by a Thai person...
The salad dressing was also quite distinctive, though not really my favorite.
Gopchang (beef intestines) was also served, and rice was available as a side option.

The dessert was also delicious, a wonderful end to the meal!
The atmosphere was great, and the staff were very friendly.

They also serve wine and beer!

This spot is famous for its delicious Norwegian-style waffles!

There's seating on the second floor too!
The coffee here has a wonderfully strong acidity.

There are about 4 seats inside and some outdoor seating. It's a popular local spot with a constant flow of customers. Located in a quiet residential area, it has a hidden gem-like atmosphere.
It operates from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
The dinner course costs ~$69. While reservations are not strictly required, it can get crowded after 7 PM. You can also make a reservation on their Google homepage, which offers a Korean version.
The course includes salad, appetizer bread, namul, and kimchi. For meat, you'll get two types of sirloin, galbi (short ribs), gopchang (beef intestines), and mille-feuille meat. Kimchi, in particular, helps to balance the richness of the meat.
Their Norwegian waffles are famous, and the coffee tends to have a strong acidity. You can enjoy coffee menu items like espresso, latte, mocha, and shakerato, as well as wine and beer.
