Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa 2026 Review: Breakfast & Hoppy Dori
Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa: Enjoy breakfast, explore Hoppy Dori, and benefit from easy Narita Airport access from this prime Tokyo location.
Knowing I'd be flying out of Narita Airport for my journey back home,
I opted for a one-night stay in Asakusa,
which was relatively close
and offered a direct train connection
to Narita Airport, taking about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Compared to The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, where I'd spent three nights,
this place was incredibly budget-friendly!
It was around ~$73 per day, and that even included breakfast!
Plus, there's a Don Quijote nearby – perfect for some last-minute souvenir hunting! (Just a heads-up, prices can fluctuate).

It's just a 3-minute walk from Asakusa Station,
and conveniently located in the same building as Sushiro.
We chose the Richmond Premier,
though there's also a standard Richmond Hotel right across the street.
The Premier seemed a bit more modern and refined,
so that's what we went with!

Here's a glimpse of the lobby area.

And for those who might need it, there were even staff members who spoke Korean!

Now, let's head up to the 12th floor to check out the room!
While it might be on the cozier side, it was surprisingly clean and even featured a bathtub – a nice bonus for relaxing after a day of exploration!

You'll find a wardrobe with a safe, plus a mini-fridge – all the essentials!

And a welcome touch: two complimentary bottles of water.
Overall, I was really impressed with how clean and well-maintained it was.
Time for breakfast!

The interior was wonderfully spacious,
and it was even better because we could see the Asakusa Skytree!

They even have delicious fried mackerel and fluffy tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet)!

Salad
Plenty of fruit too,

And so many kinds of bread!

The curry and meat were delicious!

And the best part? You could get freshly squeezed orange juice right on the spot,
which was incredibly fresh and absolutely delightful!

With coffee and such a wide array of options,
I have to say, the breakfast here was even better than at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo... a real winner!

And guess what? Hoppy Street was incredibly close to our hotel!

A quick scroll through Instagram showed me just how much of a hot spot this place is!
It had a lively vibe, reminiscent of Seoul's Euljiro pocha (tent bar) scene. All the seats were completely packed! I stopped by around 9 PM, but it turns out some shops close earlier than you might expect.
After pondering where to settle, I finally picked a place, only to be met with a surprise: 'Cash only, no cards!' I had already placed my order, so I was a bit flustered. I had to step out, find a convenience store to withdraw cash, and ended up trying a different spot. I ate at the place shown in the picture above – luckily, a spot just opened up!

It was yakitori, and the taste was quite good! Fair warning, at the Hopy-dori pochas, you'll find plenty of people smoking, and it's best to embrace the rustic charm rather than scrutinize the hygiene too closely...

Ah, Tokyo and its QR codes – always a reliable choice! There's a Korean menu available, and you can place your order instantly. Plus, every menu item comes with a photo!

Kimchi? They even had kimchi! What a delightful surprise! There's also a Japanese menu, truly diverse, isn't it? They have highballs, sours, makgeolli, various Japanese sakes, and a huge variety of soft drinks, among other things!

They also have beer.

Oh, and that Cassis Orange Highball? Absolutely delicious!

It looks like a collection box for Asahi beer — pretty cool, right?

The rolled omelet (gyeran-mari) was pretty tasty too!
We did have to wait a little for the food,
but it was absolutely worth it.

With a TV playing, and so many young people around,
even a few tipsy folks,
it was such a boisterous and joyful atmosphere!
After indulging, and to help with digestion, I took a delightful evening stroll to Asakusa, just a 5-minute walk from Hoppy Dori.

That night, the fog rolled in, creating some truly spectacular photos!

The fog around the Skytree
created such a dramatic, almost 'devil-summoning' vibe – absolutely captivating!
