I recently checked out TJ Burger in Manchon-dong, Suseong-gu, a place in Daegu that's been making waves as a must-try handmade burger joint.
When I asked a friend who's a huge fan of American-style handmade burgers for a top recommendation, TJ Burger was their enthusiastic pick!
After visiting myself, it became crystal clear why so many people flock to this spot.
Today, I'm excited to share my personal review, covering its location, menu, prices, and my overall experience all in one go!
Full disclosure: it was supposed to be Day 1 of my diet, so I genuinely only planned to eat half a burger.
But it was so incredibly delicious that I ended up devouring the whole thing! 😭😂
1. Location & Operating Hours

TJ Burger is tucked away in an alley right across from E-Mart Manchon branch.
I heard there's a dedicated TJ Burger parking lot to the left of the building.
We were lucky enough to snag a spot right in front of the shop!
2. A Look Inside the Restaurant
Befitting an American-style handmade burger spot, the interior absolutely nailed that authentic American vibe.
From cool, hip American decor everywhere to ample table space, it was just perfect!
You place your orders conveniently via a kiosk.
3. TJ Burger's Signature Menu Items
The menu is broadly categorized into five sections: Burgers, Fries & Drink Sets, Sides, Drinks, and Alcoholic Beverages.
Beyond their signature TJ Burger (~$6),
the Double Patty Burger (~$8) featuring two juicy patties,
and the Loaded Burger (~$9) — piled high with avocado, mushrooms, AND cheddar cheese — are
said to be their top three most popular menu items.
Opting for a set that includes french fries and a soft drink adds just ~$3 to the price of your burger.
They use the 'smashed burger' technique for their patties, which means they're delightfully crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside.
For sides, you can grab sweet potato fries or chicken tenders, and you can also upgrade to a fries & drink set or even a milkshake set!
4. The TJ Avocado Burger Experience
I went with the Avocado Burger (~$7), packed with generous slices of avocado, and let me tell you...
...the moment I took a bite, that savory, juicy patty flavor just exploded, reminding me why handmade burgers are truly a cut above!
The avocado perfectly balanced the rich, savory patty, adding a creamy, nutty depth that created an absolutely fantastic combination.
Just one burger was so incredibly filling that I felt like my stomach would burst, leaving me with barely any room for the fries!
For anyone craving a truly satisfying and hearty meal, I absolutely recommend it! 👍🏻
