Experience the breathtaking rice terrace views at Tis Cafe in Ubud's Tegallalang, even without a reservation!

Ubud, a vibrant cultural heart of Bali, is located about a 1.5-hour drive north from Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport. Among its many charms, Tis Cafe in Tegallalang stands out as an absolute must-visit, famous for its incredible rice paddy views and delicious food. While there are many ways to secure a reservation, I'm excited to share my experience of visiting Tis Cafe as a walk-in, no booking needed! How to Get to Tis Cafe
Ji. Raya Tegallalang, Tegallalang, Kec. Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali, 80561

Tis Cafe is nestled in the Ubud region, but it's about a 20-30 minute Grab ride from Ubud center. This is because it's situated right alongside the iconic Tegallalang Rice Terraces. You'll find it easily on the main street of the Tegallalang tourist area.
📌Pro Tip: The Gojek app often offers slightly lower fares than Grab, so consider using it for your rides!
Tegallalang Tis Cafe Operating Hours

⏰Operating Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM (Reservations are also an option!) You can visit from early morning for breakfast or brunch, all the way through to dinner.
I visited during the rainy season, which meant fewer crowds, and walking in without a reservation was a breeze. The cafe was comfortably spacious.

While the Tegallalang Rice Terraces typically require an entrance fee, you can actually access them for free through Tis Cafe's entrance! I chose to simply enjoy the stunning rice paddy views from my cafe seat and didn't venture directly into the terraces this time.

Following the path within the cafe, you can enter Tegallalang for free and even try out a Bali swing. You'll find many Bali swings scattered throughout Ubud, but the prices can vary wildly. The one here is quite affordable! (Swing price: ~$10, plus dress rental: ~$3).
Tis Cafe Menu Highlights

Tis Cafe is popular for its healthy vegetarian options, fresh salads, and vibrant smoothie bowls. Given the large number of Western visitors, they also offer comforting choices like pizzas and burgers. I ended up enjoying quite a few pizzas during my Bali trip!

They also feature several traditional Balinese dishes on their menu. On this particular day, I was craving something warm and comforting, so I ordered the Tom Yum Noodles.
The prices are quite reasonable, but remember that a separate 16.6% tax will be added to your bill.
Tis Cafe: Infinity Pool & Interiors

One of Tis Cafe's standout features is its stunning infinity pool! I inquired about the usage fee and was told there's no direct entrance fee, but you need a minimum order of ~$26 to use the pool facilities.

I really regretted not bringing my swimsuit, knowing there was an infinity pool! I had stumbled upon this cafe while exploring the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, so I could only admire the pool from afar.

The cafe is incredibly spacious, spread across two floors, with plenty of open-air seating areas. I spent a good amount of time just wandering around, admiring the beautiful Bali-inspired decor at every turn. (Just note, there's no air conditioning indoors).

From the parasols to the tables and chairs, every detail exudes that quintessential Bali vibe. Tis Cafe also provides clean and well-maintained restrooms in an outdoor building, and I was pleasantly surprised to find showers available too! If you plan on swimming, it would be a great idea to bring some basic toiletries.
My Overall Review & Tips for Your Visit

The rice paddy views from Tis Cafe in Ubud's Tegallalang are simply unparalleled. Imagine lush green palm trees, cascading rice terraces, and even an infinity pool all in one stunning location!

I successfully visited Tis Cafe as a walk-in without any issues, especially since it was the rainy season and the crowds were noticeably lighter. Even during lunchtime, the pool area had plenty of space, which is good to keep in mind.

I even recommended Tis Cafe to a friend planning their honeymoon, and they loved it! They mentioned how great the food, ambiance, views, and diverse menu options were.
If you're planning to use the Tis Cafe pool, remember the minimum charge. During peak season, making a reservation might be a good idea, but my walk-in experience during the rainy season was perfect. I hope this guide helps you plan your fantastic trip to Ubud and the Tegallalang Rice Terraces!
