The Inn Hotel Gwangju Songjeong Review 2026: Perfect for Business Travelers

On a recent Tuesday, I had an early 10:00 AM consultation in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. Since traveling from Seoul on the same day would have been too rushed, I decided to head down the day before.

When I choose accommodation for a business trip, my criteria are pretty simple: excellent accessibility comes first, followed by cleanliness. A complimentary breakfast is always a bonus, too!

The Inn Hotel exceeded my expectations. While breakfast wasn't initially included, I'll share how a little persistence (and perhaps being a 'demanding' guest) led to a complimentary meal. Let's dive into the details!

Prime Location Near the Station

You'll find The Inn Hotel just a short 3-minute walk from Gwangju Songjeong Station. I initially thought it might be a motel, but the exterior quickly revealed it was more akin to a proper hotel.

There's even a café on the first floor, and the building itself is quite substantial. I was surprised by its size, only to discover it's a brand-new hotel, having just opened this past May 2026.

I booked my stay on Agoda for around ~$45, and just from the exterior, I was already impressed!

The café is on the right, and the hotel counter is to the left. The spacious lobby and large sofas made a great first impression. With hotel staff readily available, it definitely felt like a true hotel.

During check-in, I was a little confused. I distinctly remembered booking a room that included breakfast, but the receptionist informed me it wasn't. The breakfast voucher, they said, cost ~$11.

Feeling a bit frustrated, I politely but firmly explained that my booking clearly stated breakfast was included. After a brief discussion, the receptionist kindly provided me with a complimentary breakfast voucher, suggesting there might have been some ambiguity on the booking platform. So, yes, I guess I was a bit of a 'demanding' guest, but it worked out!

Anyway, with my breakfast voucher in hand, I headed up to room 8010! Despite the slight hiccup, I appreciated The Inn Hotel's quick resolution. This place was winning me over.

Standard Room Comfort

The room itself was even more satisfying. It was incredibly clean and well-designed, easily comparable to a 4-star hotel room. I couldn't believe this level of quality for the price!

The sliding wooden door separating the entrance from the bedroom was a beautiful touch.

Near the entrance, you'll find a closet and a handy LG Styler, with the bathroom adjacent and the main bedroom straight ahead.

Even for a standard room, the size was excellent. Best of all, it featured a king-size bed! Being a new build, everything felt fresh and spotless, with hardly any of that typical 'new construction' smell.

For business travelers, a comfortable night's rest is paramount, and The Inn Hotel delivers that and more.

The bed and bedding were incredibly soft and cozy, ensuring I slept soundly until morning. The outlets on both sides of the headboard were perfect for charging my phone while working on my laptop, and I particularly loved how quiet the mini-fridge was.

As a business traveler, the LG Styler in the room was a godsend. Especially during the hot summer months when sweat is inevitable, being able to refresh my clothes meant I could start the next day's schedule feeling crisp and renewed, as if I had a brand new outfit.

Thoughtfully Designed Bathroom

The bathroom's layout, with the sink, toilet, and shower area partially separated, felt much more hygienic and convenient to use.

Being a new hotel, everything was spotless, without any grime. It was also well-equipped with a bidet, hairdryer, and essential amenities. Remember to bring your personal toiletries, or you can purchase a set from the counter for ~$2 if you forget.

Breakfast Options

Armed with my 'demanding guest' acquired breakfast voucher, I headed down for breakfast. Since the hotel is relatively new, or perhaps I was just an early bird, around 8:00 AM, there was only one family of six in the dining area.

The breakfast restaurant on the basement level was bright and well-organized. While not a lavish buffet, it offered a substantial spread, primarily Korean dishes. It's a great option for those who enjoy a traditional Korean breakfast.

However, I'd strongly recommend booking a room that includes breakfast. Paying ~$11 for it might not be the best value, as it was a simple meal of toast, boiled eggs, and soup for me.

Helpful Tips for Your Stay

The Inn Hotel, being newly opened, seems to be running various promotions. If you're planning a business trip or vacation to Gwangju, make sure to check their official blog or Instagram for current events and special offers.

Also, if you plan to order takeout or delivery in the evening, note that delivery riders cannot come up to the guest floors. You'll need to pick up your order from the lobby on the first floor.

Just a short walk from the hotel, you'll find the famous Songjeong Tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) Alley and the historic 1913 Songjeong Market, making it easy to grab dinner nearby.

The Inn Hotel near Gwangju Songjeong Station truly impressed me with its excellent accessibility, clean rooms equipped with an LG Styler, convenient parking, and a satisfying breakfast. It has all the essentials for a comfortable business trip.
