Hello everyone!
It's Susukkotdari, sharing my latest travel finds.
Last Tuesday, I had a community consulting session scheduled in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, starting at 10:00 AM. Since traveling all the way from Seoul on the same morning would have been way too rushed, I decided to head down the night before.
When it comes to booking a business trip stay, my checklist is straightforward: ultimate accessibility comes first, followed closely by pristine cleanliness. If there is a complimentary breakfast, that is a huge bonus!
The In Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. While breakfast isn't normally free, I managed to get a complimentary meal voucher after a slight booking mix-up (I might have been a slightly high-maintenance guest!). Here is my detailed review of this fantastic property.
Prime Location Near KTX

The hotel is located just a 3-minute walk (about 0.1 miles) from Gwangju Songjeong Station. I initially expected a standard motel, but the exterior looked like a highly polished, modern hotel.
There is a spacious cafe on the first floor, and the building itself is quite grand. It turns out this is a brand-new property that just opened this past May 2026.
I booked a room on Agoda for around ~$38 per night, and seeing the exterior alone made me feel like I got an incredible deal!

The cafe is on the right, and the hotel reception desk is on the left. The lobby is incredibly spacious, complete with large, comfortable sofas. With professional staff on hand, it definitely felt like a proper hotel experience.
However, I ran into a bit of confusion at check-in. I was positive that my booking included breakfast, but the front desk informed me it was not included.
The breakfast voucher is normally ~$10. Knowing I had seen "breakfast included" on the booking screen, I politely but firmly inquired about it. The staff member kindly resolved the issue by offering me a complimentary breakfast voucher, explaining that the platform's listing language was a bit ambiguous.
I hope I didn't come across as too demanding! But I truly appreciated their quick and generous customer service.

With my breakfast voucher in hand, I headed up to Room 8010. Thanks to the smooth resolution, my impression of The In Hotel was already fantastic.
The Standard Room

The room itself was even better. It was flawlessly clean, well-structured, and felt like a solid 4-star accommodation. I couldn't believe this level of quality was available at such a budget-friendly price point.
I loved the beautiful traditional wooden slatted sliding door separating the entryway from the main bedroom.
The layout features a closet and an LG Styler near the entrance, a bathroom on the side, and the bedroom straight ahead.
Let's slide open the door and step inside!

The Standard Room is surprisingly spacious and features a plush king-size bed. Since the property is brand new, everything was immaculate. Thankfully, there was none of that harsh "new building" chemical smell either.

For business travelers, a comfortable place to recharge is essential, and The In Hotel delivers. The bedding was crisp, dry, and incredibly cozy, allowing me to sleep soundly through the night.
I loved that there were power outlets on both sides of the headboard, making it super convenient to charge my devices while catching up on work. The mini-fridge was also whisper-quiet, which is a rare and welcome feature.

The absolute best feature for business travelers is the in-room LG Styler (steam closet). Given the intense summer heat and humidity, my clothes were quite damp, but a quick cycle in the steam closet left them feeling fresh, sanitized, and perfectly pressed for my meetings the next day.
Smart, Split-Style Bathroom

The bathroom features a split layout, separating the vanity, toilet, and shower areas. This design is highly hygienic and convenient, especially if you are sharing the room.
Being a new build, everything was sparkling clean with zero water stains. It comes equipped with an electronic bidet, a powerful hair dryer, and basic bath amenities. Note that you should bring your own personal toiletries (like toothbrushes), or you can easily purchase a convenience kit at the front desk for ~$2.

The Breakfast Experience

The next morning, I headed down to the breakfast area in the basement (B1) using my voucher. Since the hotel is so new, it was very quiet—only one family of six was dining when I arrived around 8:00 AM.
The dining hall was bright, clean, and well-organized. While it isn't a massive international buffet, it offers a solid, comforting spread of Korean-style home-cooked dishes. If you enjoy a savory Korean breakfast, you will love the selection.
That said, I highly recommend booking a room package that already includes breakfast. Paying ~$10 out of pocket might feel a bit steep for the simple selection, but it is wonderful if included. I kept it light with some toast, boiled eggs, and hot soup.
Essential Tips for Your Stay

Since The In Hotel is a recent 2026 opening, they run frequent promotional events. If you are planning a trip to Gwangju, check their official social media channels for current deals before booking.
Also, if you plan on ordering late-night food delivery, note that delivery drivers are not allowed up to the guest floors for security reasons. You will need to head down to the first-floor lobby to pick up your food.
For dining out, the famous Songjeong Tteokgalbi (grilled minced pork/beef) Alley and the vibrant 1913 Songjeong Station Market are just a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to grab a delicious local dinner.
Overall, The In Hotel Gwangju is an outstanding choice. With its unbeatable KTX station access, clean rooms equipped with LG Stylers, ample parking, and a hearty breakfast, it ticks every single box for both business travelers and vacationers alike.

It is located about a 3-minute walk from Gwangju Songjeong Station. The Songjeong Tteokgalbi Street and 1913 Songjeong Station Market are near the hotel, making dining and getting around very convenient.
Breakfast vouchers must be purchased separately for ~$10 and can be used at the breakfast restaurant on the first basement floor (B1). While it is not an extravagant buffet, it offers Korean-style side dishes, sliced bread, boiled eggs, soup, and more.
Basic amenities are provided, but you should bring your own personal items. If you forget to prepare them, you can purchase them separately at the front desk on the 1st floor for ~$2.
Delivery drivers are restricted from going up to the guest room floors. Therefore, if you order food delivery, you must go down to the 1st-floor lobby to receive it yourself.
