Parking
The building's underground parking lot is quite small. For convenience, I recommend using the Myeongpum Parking Lot (명품주차장) located diagonally across the street.

As soon as you're seated, a beautiful array of traditional side dishes, known as *banchan*, arrives, served impeccably in brassware. From stir-fried anchovies and simmered black beans to a spicy vegetable salad and various seasoned greens, each dish is lovingly prepared by the owner, tasting just like a comforting homemade meal. These aren't just appetizers; they're so delicious, you might find yourself finishing a bowl of rice before the main courses even arrive!

You'll also receive fresh seaweed with a sweet and tangy *chogochujang* (vinegared gochujang sauce) and perfectly fermented kimchi. The kimchi here is particularly outstanding, so much so that they even serve a complimentary Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew) made with it, which I'll tell you more about later!
Ganjang Gejang (Soy-Marinated Crab)
If you could only order one dish at Mindeulle (민들레) in Sangmu District (상무지구), I would wholeheartedly recommend the Ganjang Gejang without hesitation.

Just looking at the glossy crab shells, topped with chili and sesame seeds, is enough to make your mouth water! The marinade isn't overly salty, making it delicious enough to mix with rice on its own. The sweet crab meat melts in your mouth, leaving a delightful lingering flavor. This is definitely a dish that will have you asking for a second (or third!) bowl of rice.

Boribgulbi (Steamed Dried Yellow Croaker)
Prepared with various special techniques, Mindeulle's Boribgulbi features thick, tender flesh. It's served with the meat expertly deboned, making it easy to enjoy. A dab of their secret sauce on top of the flaky fish is all it takes to awaken your appetite.

With just the side dishes, Ganjang Gejang, and Boribgulbi, your table will be overflowing. Each dish here possesses a unique charm that sets it apart from other restaurants.

Yangnyeom Gejang (Spicy Marinated Crab)
Next up is the Yangnyeom Gejang. I picked up a piece of the crab, bursting with plump meat. Doesn't that glossy, vibrant seasoning and succulent crab meat look absolutely irresistible?

The sweet and spicy marinade is deeply infused into the crab meat. Served over warm rice, another bowl of rice seems to disappear in an instant!

On one side of the table, a large pitcher of refreshing beverage was readily available, making it easy to refill our cups throughout the meal. The restaurant exudes a warm, inviting ambiance that speaks of its long-standing history.

With the Yangnyeom Gejang joining the spread, our table for four was completely full. Just looking at it makes you feel satisfied, doesn't it? The "three rice thieves" – Ganjang Gejang, Boribgulbi, and Yangnyeom Gejang – were all gathered in one place!

Kimchi Jjigae (Kimchi Stew)
We can't forget about the complimentary Kimchi Jjigae. Made with perfectly fermented kimchi, the broth is spicy, savory, and incredibly refreshing. It's simply a flavor that needs no explanation!

The table was truly packed with Kimchi Jjigae, Boribgulbi, and all the various side dishes. A spoonful of stew, a piece of croaker, and a bite of rice – what more could you ask for?

Going with a group allows you to savor a wider variety of dishes, which is always a bonus. Try placing rice on a piece of seaweed, adding a drizzle of the Ganjang Gejang sauce, and taking a bite – it's pure culinary artistry! My friend who joined me ate three bowls of rice. This place truly is a haven for "rice thieves"!

With the stew, Boribgulbi, and all the various side dishes, it's truly a lavish spread, isn't it? After such a satisfying meal, you'll feel full and energized for hours, whether it's lunch or dinner.
MellowTrip's Verdict
If you're in Gwangju's Sangmu District (상무지구) searching for that comforting taste of homemade Korean food, I highly recommend Mindeulle (민들레). With its "three rice thieves" – Ganjang Gejang, Boribgulbi, and Yangnyeom Gejang – you'll find yourself reaching for more rice again and again. The beautifully presented side dishes and the profound flavors reflect the long-standing quality of this beloved restaurant. It's an excellent choice for family meals or business gatherings.
